The location is very good, very close to the train station, and downstairs is the subway station. But one thing, when checking in, the front desk charged me two euro and told me it could be paid when checking out. When I checked out the next day, I saw a box at the front desk and thought I needed to put the card inside. At that time, there was a staff member, and I told him directly that I wanted to check out. I gave him the card. Then he threw my card into that box. At this point, I asked him about the two euro ,and he said, 'Aren't you going to donate?'? I had no idea about this before, I think the front desk should have asked before that.

This is an old typical for Berlin building but renewed in the best way. Congrats to the owner about the idea! The room in apartment 3a that I booked first was fabulous - spacy, clean and with very comfortable beds. The apartment was superb overall! Great deal for the money. The whole staff at the reception and at the bar is doing a great job as well!! They are friendly and proffesional. Sebastian was helpful and going to the extra mile. The hostel's bar and restaurant are nice too, food is okay and the whole vibe there is very positive! Prices are absolutely affordable and they even make you a discount as a guest of the hostel. The location is top - the utrain stop is just a few steps away from the entrance! A great place overall!! Thank you!!! <3
The second room in the apartment next door that I booked to prolong my stay(8a) was not worth the money, I’m sorry. It was too tiny for a double room, the furniture was old, the walls had stains and the mattresses were not comfortable (different to those at 3a). The apartment was cold as the balcony door was damaged and so it remained permanently open.. But for 2nights it's okay.

The location is very good. It was easy for me to get there from the airport with public transport and it was easy going places during my stay. The rooms are upstairs and there is a bar and restaurant downstairs. It was noicy in the bar at my arrival in the evening, but upstair I couldn’t hear anything from there. I had a single room. It was spacious and comfortable. The breakfast was good. I also had a meal in the restaurand. It was also good and the price for everything on my stay was good. All of the staff were nice, but especially the woman who checked me out. She was very quick to give me attention and do the procedure. What suprised me was that she she asked me how my stay was. This was the last stop on my trip. I stayed at several other places before coming here and nobody asked me that. I found it very nice. Smalls things like that can make you smile.
It is not the hostels fault, but some people did not follow the rules on being quiet at night. I also think that the cleaning of the bathrooms can be improved and I’d wish for some hangers by the sink. Breakfast was quite late in my opinion.

Literally a second from metro station, super friendly staff, clean room, very quiet even though there is a pub downstairs.
There were no soap and toilet paper for two days in the bathroom, but i guess i was staying in between cleaning 🤷

Sebastian was amazing! SIDE NOTE - TOURIST TRAIN SCAM ALERT - When in Germany, check you've bought the right train ticket. We saw crazy scary inspectors storm on the train & charge people €60 for buying the wrong train ticket (a €1.50 mistake). Complete scam. This hostel is perfect for solo travelers. The daily 7:30pm meet-and-greet drinks makes it easy to meet cool, diverse people, and nights out together completely makes your trip. It’s an experience you don’t get elsewhere. The bar has a great vibe, always busy. Location is decent, but check Sunday openings—we struggled to find open places. We ended up at Matrix, which was fun. If you want to meet people but need privacy, book a private room.
It was a bit misleading as the pictures show beds with curtains, which ours didn't have - No privacy. For 12 people, there was one toilet room and one shower room (with a toilet). The shower wasn’t very clean. Bedside chargers only worked with both a plug and USB. The pillows were uncomfortable. We paid £60 each for three nights in a six-bed female dorm—too pricey.

The bathrooms were always clean, the breakfast worth the price, and the staff were perfect.
The room that I stayed in was a complete mass because of a stupid man group... Every day they hung out in the room drinking beers, speaking very loud right behind the bed I was sleeping, and as I was a girl solo in a mixture room I didn't have the courage to tell them to go anywhere else. It is challenging to sleep in this kind of shared room when you are a girl traveling alone, in the end everything was fine nothing bad happened but I can't say that I felt completely comfortable and secure, cause with those guys I wasn't... A female room should be the same price, it's not fair for us to pay more just because men don't know how to behave...

Good location, very spaceous and pretty apartment with a cosy balcony and great view. The kitchen is equipped with all the necessary stuff for basic cooking and the heating system was already on so we were very comfortable. Welcome drinks were also a nice surprise! Good value for the price.
Not all the equipment listed was provided: there's no TV, no coffee maker and no toaster, they were not provided after I asked for those. No hooks / shelves for shampoo, clothes and towels in the bathroom made it complicated to use. Those would not be crazy big investments, but could considerably improve travelers' experience.

The room is large, high cealings, huge nice windows, a nice sitting space, the beds have curtains, are spacious, good bedding, light, plugs. The heating is good. The bathrooms are absoulutly nice and handy. The paper towels are great. There is a hair dryer for the ladies. At the counter there is free water and a choice of other soft drinks. 24/7 The social atmosphere is very warm, open minded people, fun. The stuff is awesome very inviting and caring. There is a welcome drink and the bar is a great place to be. The breakfast buffet is really nice. The location is a dream, 2 supermarkets close by, and lots of places to visit. Outside there is a great seating for smokers and rain protection.
the carpet in the room needs renewal :-)

One of the best hostels I've stayed in. Staff were super helpful and friendly. Rooms were cleaned well daily. Excellent price, really nice breakfast, fun bar, great pizza. My train to Paris was cancelled and the staff immediately helped me book for another night. Subway access was literally steps away from the front door. Beds were comfortable and the all female apartment was great with a full kitchen and 2 bathrooms with hot water all day and night. Thank you for the wonderful accommodations.
Could use a microwave in the female dorm but nothing important. Stove works fine.

The cost in relationship with the attention. I went to Berlin for a shot transit stop from Dublin to New York. After I arrived at Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER), I easily booked a bed in a shared eight-bed room. You can only take the S9 from BER to Alexanderplatz at 4.40 euros. Then you are only three blocks from the Hostal. They attended me in person at 1 am, not with any automatic system like other low-cost hostels. At the morning breakfast was served from 7 to 10 am. I really recommend paying for it. It is full of fruits, beverages, breads, including even eggs. There could be a problem with the payment of the breakfast from Booking.com, so be careful. However, the hostel staff really helped me with that. Then I decided to do a short visit to Berlin centre. They have lockers to place your bags. However, you have to pay with euros coins. No credit card is accepted. In that case, I strongly recommend going to the Alexanderplatz again. There is a Bank you can do the "umtauschen" from an international currency to euros. Also, the staff of the hostal can help with "Kleingeld", changing euros bills to euros coins. But they are not allowed to accept any international currency. Finally I would like to finish doing a special mention to Esther, a staff member she was really nice helping me through my short visit in Berlin, giving me a lot of advice about what to do, as well as the corresponding support at the hostal.
It was a little difficult to understand how to pay for the breakfast, but Esther solved it fast, explained it nicely, and apologised for the issues.
