The place is beautiful and a paradise. Our room was comfortable with attached bathroom, there is a patio outside where you can rest and look at nature that is all around you, the only sound is from the birds and the wind. You can also eat in the little bar/caffe, it's really well made and full of Che's pictures. We had breakfast every morning, was so big that we didn't eat for half day. Oda is kind and helpful and she loves her place. There is also a communal kitchen that you can use. I loved the village as well, so quiet and with lots of history.

By far the best experience I have had in Bolivia after 3 months of traveling here. The hostel is both in a unique location in nature with lots of peace, incredible starry skies, a mountain view that is unparalleled. In addition, the French host family is located in a historic area and is very well informed about the historical relevance of the region and can tell a lot about it (Ché Guevara). They were also able to spontaneously organize transportation and a reliable guide who was able to lead us on adventurous and natural paths to the commemorative site for "The Comandante". Outstanding is also the food, the host really takes a lot of time and is a real heart person. I got a little sick during the trip and the family took care of me like I was part of them. A safe haven and a unique stay. People often book only one or two nights and yet then stay a whole week, I can only relate. 10 out of 10 points and I would give even more if I could.

If you only visit one place in Boliva, this is tha place to visit. Not only because the history of La Higuera, but because of this hostel. And the staff, they are super good. This is in the middle of nowhere, to get here you take a taxi from Vallagrande. Such an adventure. There is no wi-fi here, which is good. Time goes slowly here. We stayed here for five days and we got really relaxed and we lowered our tempo by watchingthe hummingbirds and listen to the wind or the rain. Good food and drinks. Beds are good. The rooms are simple but clean. Only one shared toilet and (hot)shower but as we were more or less the only guests during our stay.

We liked it all. Maybe the one and only toilet could be an issue if all five rooms are full. But I doubt it.

If you are interested in Che Guevara this is the place to visit it is as it was - a part of history visited by many powerful leaders even today. We spent the evening talking to the hosts - dinner was great the rooms are basic but very clean and comfortable and in the morning we visited the old school which is now a Che museum. If La Higuera was easier to get to I’m sure this place would be turning people away. Thankyou it was everything I expected and more 🤗
