The hotel is located in a traditional old house, previously owned by a well-known figure of Albanian Renaissance. Everything in the hotel is in line with the traditional style, from the room interior to the balconies to the restaurant. The food was also great and affordable. We also booked a table for a music night with Albanian traditional music. The hotel is only 5 minutes walk from the city center, and a few minutes driving from the ancient castle.

It is a great advantage for such a centrally located hotel to provide with free parking, but on the other hand, it can become chaotic at times due to big number of cars going in and out. Nevertheless, the staff was extremely helpful, providing great assistance and even offering to park the guest cars, so the guests would not bother.

Superb place to stay full of character and charm and very, very close to city centre. The bedrooms had excellent and quiet air-conditioning, were full of character and very clean. The bedrooms were also very quiet at night which was a little bit of a surprise considering how close we were to the city centre. The courtyard was always, a busy and bustling place – it seem to have as many locals as visitors using it. Most evenings there was a singer and sometimes dancing and this was great for people watching. The breakfast was superb and some of the best food we’ve had in Albania and eating in the lovely, vine-covered courtyard was a real treat each morning. We couldn’t recommend this Tradita enough!

Our only complaint is the lack of places to hang things (like towels and jackets) – a few hooks in the bathroom and also on the bedroom doors would have really helped.

Very traditional and unique. Beautiful, spacious, and practical courtyard with a bar for drinks and for relaxation. The restaurant within the hotel is superb, with a large period open fire to keep us warm as well as they used it to cook our delicious meals, which we can observe from our best table for 3 up on the balcony. Staff and waitress were wonderful and professional but yet very friendly.

Our room is very dark. Would prefer if just one floor with a double bed and a single bed, but instead we were given a 2 floors with 1 king or queen size bed, 1 double bed and a single bed for 2 adult and an 8 yrs old.

There was a real sense of history in the hotel, the rooms have all the modern facilities, but are sympathetic to the original construction. Breakfast is amazing (included in the room price) with everything from locally sourced cheese, traditional Albanian recipes and trout smoked on the premises. As with most of Albania, the evening meals are excellent value for money, with fresh pasta and breads, risotto to die for, and a wide variety of traditional food.. Traditional live music while you dine in the open courtyard adds to the atmosphere in the evening, and the open log fire which keeps breakfast food warm adds to the whole experience, setting it apart from corporate hotels.

Not much really. Be aware that it is a traditional building with no lifts to the first and second floors and the original window frames are obviously smaller than more modern buildings, but that all adds to the character. Although there is a mini bar in each room, we'd have preferred a fridge to keep our water cold, but that was a personal preference and a minor issue.

Tradita is a nice hotel, with traditional design and architecture compared to the other hotels in Shkodër. The rooms are clean, fresh, and tidy. The hotel inner courtyard has a great restaurant that is popular with not only hotel guests, but locals as well. The vibe in the evening is great, but it's not too loud, so it's easy to still sleep. Breakfast buffet is also nice. They offer free parking and you can pay an extra €5 per day if you plan on leaving your car while heading up to Valbona/Theth/Lake Komani.

If you leave with a shuttle for Theth and/or Lake Komani, you leave early in the morning (before breakfast is served). The hotel offers a packed lunch in lieu, which is nice. But, the following morning, there was no one at reception (even if it's said to be 24/7 reception) and there were about a dozen people seeking to pick-up their packed lunch and/or check-out. No one could be found, so we had to leave without our food and others had to leave without checking out. Not sure how they sorted that!

- quiet, clean room on 2nd floor - comfortable bed, air con, - pleasant staff at the reception - luggage storage option - pre-packed breakfast (early morning check out) - beautiful architecture, style & history of the building complex with great attention to detail

- Music way too loud in the evening around the courtyard to the point that we couldn’t carry on with our conversation during dinner - Lek / Euro conversion rate not in line with what’s offered everywhere else (on the market) - tiny bathroom with collapsed door (difficult to shut); shower cabin semi open meaning water floating all over the floor afterwards before it gets drained

I loved the traditional style of the hotel and the way it centred around a gorgeous quiet courtyard where a wonderful (gentle) Albanian live duo play/sing each night. The food is delicious, there’s free parking and it’s just a quick walk to the old town. The staff were very helpful, the room was comfortable and we booked a day trip to Shala river effortlessly through them. The room was cool in the heat and the courtyard was blissfully airy. It can be difficult to find good accommodation and I do recommend this hotel.

If I had to find something it might be that the bathroom was a tad small and the curtains weren’t blackout so the room got quite light early. But these are insignificant in terms of the quality of the stay.

Beautiful traditional Albanian museum style hotel with gorgeous courtyard for dining. Great breakfast spread - probably the best we've had and we've travelled quite a lot in Albania. Nice restaurant for evening meals. Staff booked our transport to Valbona and stored our luggage at no extra cost while we went to the Alps for 3 nights.

Everything was great except for the first 2 nights we had to take 2 rooms which makes it a lot more expensive. After returning from our 3 nights in the Alps, we managed to get a family room for 5 which was fantastic value.

Extremely nice hotel, traditional style, location ok (everything within walking distance). The rooms are small but cozy, everything you need.

There were several agency groups in the hotel during pur stay, so it was completely full. Quite crowded at breakfast, all tables in the main part occupied. We chose this hotel precisely because of its authentic style, so that such a mass of people overshadowed it. The parking lot is too small for so many cars and minibuses, the cars are completely parked so that leaving the hotel is quite a challenge. The staff takes good care of this, but if you are in a hurry, it can be quite a problem. The room was otherwise very nice, but the balcony was small and did not offer the best view as it was facing the courtyard of the neighboring house.
