The property was beautiful and very remote. It was quite and you had everything you need.

The staff, the food, the remoteness. It was overall a fantastic time at the Spicers Peak Lodge and the staff made our stay perfect.

Breakfast was always good as were all the meals. It was always easy to get a coffee or a drink; all part of the package and of course my wife's favourite - the fireplace

Always that last part of the drive from the main road up to the resort, but I'm getting used to it

The setting is amazing. The lodge very comfortable and it was lovely to have a fire in our room. The meals were excellent, interesting food all prepared very well.

I was gutted that the pool wasn't heated.

The service was absolutely fantastic. Sam in particular with his wine knowledge was a great asset. The property/views were spectacular and lots of amenities.

More variety needed for vegetarians. I was served pesto pasta for dinner on the first night, pesto/summer green risotto for lunch the next day and then the main option for dinner the last night was mushroom risotto… and came out as a pesto risotto! It was all tasty, but I expected more from a 5 star lodge. I’d also say that the cheeseboards etc. also needed more work/balancing - again a bit basic/bare for a 5 star lodge.

We enjoy the all inclusive charge, so that once we arrive we don’t have to think about the bill. The standard is such that no normal person could have anything to complain about. All our fellow guests spoke about how happy they were with the lodge. No complaints at all were heard. For us, as birdwatchers, we love the remoteness of the location, and after we left we spent quite a long time birdwatching as we descended from the plateau. It was wonderful. (This was a gift from Philip to us, his sister Jill and her husband James)

As with all of these high standard places, it’s hard to get a tiny, simple snack. Ask for two biscuits with a slice of cheese, and you get a cheeseboard with the works . As it’s a sin to waste food, we eat more than we really want to. It’s a good fault, but it still amounts to wasted food. I guess it’s good news for the pigs!

Incredible experience! Would highly recommend staying here. Staff were excellent the food unbelievable. Everyone helpful friendly such a wonderful experience. The 1 bedroom private lodge was beautiful clean everything was thought about.

Beautiful property.

Spicers Peak Lodge was absolutely incredible, exceeding all my expectations. Having traveled extensively, I've experienced great service before however, this was next level. All staff were incredibly personable, helpful, friendly, and took every opportunity to go above and beyond without being asked. I feel l like all the staff took the time to get to know their guests by name and made us feel at home the whole time. There was plenty to do around the property as well as a number of comfortable places to just relax and take in the beautiful building and surroundings. Of the activities on offer, we did the constellations by campfire experience led by Melissa who is an amazing storyteller and certainly took us on an adventure. The food was an experience on its own - every dish was an adventure. The property is quite new, luxurious, and picturesque inside and out. A special call out to Steph and Bianca, who were able to arrange a surprise picnic at spicers gap lookout for my now fiancee and I - thank you so much. And Martin, the manager, you and your team are the best.
