Great location. Steps away from my new fave coffee shop in taipei. Well connected by busses and close to two separate metro lines, so there's never a problem getting anywhere. Also close to a fun, less touristy night market. The place itself is very cute and has a lot of character. Very clean, the rooms all have cute details. The staff will help you get any suitcases up and down the stairs and are very helpful in answering questions, etc. Will def stay here whenever I come back to Taipei.

Honestly at this point its nitpicking, because the place is so lovely, but I wish there was a purified water dispenser so you could fill up on cold (or hot) water when you want. They do have boiled water in the kitchen and provide water bottles in the rooms, though :)

I like how the hotel staff are all friendly and helpful, especially Paul who instantly gave me recommendations on where to go for places to eat the moment I got to the hotel. They clean the room daily. I was also given a box of Japanese pancake during the New Year, which was thoughtful. The most noteworthy thing they did for me was when they made sure I got on to a taxi to the Airport MRT because I had a really early flight back to Manila. Paul went to the hotel really early just to assist me with my luggage and the taxi.

The hotel is what I expected it to be.

The cool, ran-down look of this hotel is all for show; in reality the room was very, very clean - probably the cleanest hotel I've stayed in this whole year! (And I travel a lot.) The longer-haired receptionist was also brilliant - he had kindly carried my bag all the way upstairs for me and even gave me an adapter, when it turned out my "universal" adapter didn't actually fit Taiwanese sockets. It's also an easy walk away from the Airport train terminal and close to one of Taipei's many night markets. I did even walk to Ximending and back one evening - which was a bit of a long walk, but definitely possible. So, it is really quite central.

The room was extremely compact - so much so that I had a bit of a hard time figuring out where to lay down and open my bag. So, if you're traveling with big luggage, prepare for some difficulty (there's also no elevator). Also, while the location is central, you have to walk about 15 minutes to reach the nearest MTR station, which is a bit far. The mattresses are also quite hard - I sleep on my side and had to keep turning over at night so my hips wouldn't get sore. This is a fairly common problem for me in SE Asia, though, and the bedding was good otherwise.

Lovely small hotel in an historic part of Taipei, right near Dihua Street in Dadaocheng. The room was small, but very clean and comfortable. We loved the (well-chosen) vintage decor of the room and found it was well-suited to our needs, for a very reasonable price. The staff were friendly and helpful. It is well-suited to adult travellers who like to soak up the history and culture of a new city.

The property has steep stairs, so it would be a challenging stay for older adults, anybody with mobility issues, or younger children. That said - the staff kindly carried our bags up to the room. It’s also not particularly close to an MRT station (10-15 minutes walk), which we were completely fine with, but again worth mentioning for others.

Excellent location! - an easy walk to Dihua Street shops, food, etc and the Nixhia night market. Staff was friendly and the neighborhood got nice & quiet at night. Bed was very comfy! Rooms cleaned daily as needed. Internet and heat/AC worked great. A few narrow steps upstairs to the room required, it didn't bother me/not an issue.

just an observation: The room worked great for me, as a solo traveler. 2+ people and the small room could get a little harder to move around in. For me it was perfect.

Even though I was 30 minutes late for check in time, the staff welcomed me. The room was very cozy and retro which was the most favorite part of this room. Basic amenities and a bottle of water per a day for complimentary. The location was good, within 10 minutes from Taipei main station by taxi, only 100 TWD. You can easily go to Ningxia night market by walk in 10 minutes. It was quiet during night which doesn’t interrupt your sleep.

The room was a little bit smaller than expected and there is not enough space to fully open a suitcase. There is no partition to separate shower space and toilet which was not problem for me, but if you don’t feel comfortable with wet floor, you minds.

The staffs were so helpful in terms of suggestions of places and giving some advices for Taiwan trip. Such a nice location, super close to night market and close to everything, most of tourists spots are less than 15mins taxi drive (approximately 180 twd one way). Room was pretty small but they had everything that we needed. Very convenient for the location and absolutely worth the value! Hotel was clean and feel safe! Definitely will return when I visit Taipei again.

Can’t be better!

The staff was very friendly and carried my suitcase upstairs. As a solo female traveler - I felt very safe knowing the door downstairs is only accessible with a key card. I liked the pink hairdryer 😂. There was a kettle and mini fridge. The bed was comfortable.

I wish there was a small table or something like that next to the sink where I can put my make up while getting ready. I am being nitpicky here, I know, but it was a bit inconvenient.

the front desk staff (gentleman with a beard) was incredibly helpful and kind. He shared a bunch of food recommendations with me and they were all great. He also carried my bag upstairs. the room is cute - retro with an old phone that actually works, and a comfy bed. The bathroom is a little rudimentary but the shower is hot with good water pressure. For the cost of this hotel, it was an incredible bargain! Very closely located to some great food and bars, quiet and comfy. Highly recommend.

The staff members are accommodating and casual. The aesthetic works and the room is very clean despite it being an old building. They’ve sealed up the place very well to avoid cockroaches. They really understood what travelers need in terms of accommodations and are very understanding overall. Located near a popular street full of great shops!

There are some inconsistencies with the rooms despite being the same price (if not more on the weekends): our room did not have a fridge as the first one did, but had an air purifier in its place (?), and it was significantly smaller/hard to move around with two people at times than our first room. The slippers are disposable therefore flimsy so it makes it dangerous due to slipping while going into the bathroom after showering, because there is no divider between the shower and the sink or toilet. Maybe they should have reusable rubber sandals or install a curtain to limit the water spreading. The street it was on was a bit difficult to maneuver initially as you have to go through a temple (?) with suitcases.
