The building is not too nice from the outside, but beautiful traditional taiwaniese / japenese wooden interior, nice decors, clean rooms, comfortable bed, welcoming hosts, superb view from the breakfast room. Great location: only few steps from Jiufen street stairs, but away from the big crowds. Great atmosphere I would return.
First I was suprised that my room was on the ground floor, and opened directly from the reception area, but both personnal and both other guests were quite, so depsite the ground floor location I had a good sleep. Taiwanese bathroom layout/design is not to user friendly, as you enter the bathroom comes directly the shower, both basin and toilet is on the inside end, so you can cross the wet floor everytime.

Lovely place, the view and location really do make it what it is. Breakfast was delicious. Simple room but everything that you need is available. Not at all an issue for me, but be advised that with large luggage this is not the easiest location to reach (the great view requires climbing a lot of stairs).
Sound insulation of the room/door could be better as mine was right at reception. The bathroom does not have a separate shower, so the whole bathroom is wet after using the shower - not a real problem but didn’t expect it when booking. Gave the room a bit more of a hostel instead of hotel feel.

Five minutes walking to the Jiufen Old Street but a bit of a hike from the main bus stop. Refrigerator and microwave in common space. Hot water dispenser (which comes in handy for making instant noodles since all the restaurants close before 8PM). Breakfast included: warm hard boiled eggs, toast, jam, rolls, butter, cabbage with vegan meat, pork floss, rice soup, coffee and orange juice. Sea view from the common room was nice. Room was small but very clean, comfortable and adequate for a night. Common space was pleasant and allowed for chatting with other guests. The simple welcome snack was a nice touch. Hot water, wifi, A/C all working fine
Our balcony overlooked the neighbor's roof. The whole place felt a bit cramped - including the breakfast area floor seating

The view from the dining area was amazing, I feel like I could stare at it all day. Staff were also very friendly and helpful. The female staff was very helpful in provide food recommendations and suggestions before and during my stay. Typical taiwanese breakfast was nice. It is a traditional toilet where the shower is in the same area as the toilet bowl but helps that rubber slippers are provided for the toilet. Free coffee and tea whole day.
Place was quite an uphill walk from the bus station which could be challenging if you have big bags. Wifi does not work well in the room. Room size was just nice for me but might be a bit small for 2 people with big bags.

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The B&B style with the dedicated breakfast room overlooking Jiufen was very cute. The room was a little small, but not too small -- there was enough room for our bags and stuff we bought along the way. We only stayed for one night without suitcases -- if you're taking big suitcases the room might feel a little cramped and there are a lot of stairs to get to the hotel, so keep that in mind if you have luggage. Everyone in the hotel gathered together in the breakfast room for food, so it was nice eating among all the travelers from various countries -- and the breakfast itself was good with several food and drink options. The common area balcony overlooking Jiufen didn't have the most stunning views, but we liked that it was an option -- not all Jiufen hotels have a community balcony overlooking the village so that made this one a little more special. The hotel hosts were very kind and explained a lot about the hotel when we checked in.
We booked a room with a private balcony, but the blinds for the balcony door had to be wound up all the way to walk out onto the balcony and our blinds broke and got stuck on the first night. Not a huge deal, but was a little annoying. The shower is also cumbersome. There's no dedicated shower area, so the toilet, sink and shower nozzle are all in one small bathroom, so water gets all over the floor of the whole bathroom after showering. This isn't a huge deal, but something to note.

Friendly and helpful staff especially 子祥 and Jing Jing. dedicated and cheerful beautiful view of the sea if your rooms are facing the sea. otherwise the 3rd floor dining area has a perfect view. Old street is just 3mins away
location is a bit difficult to find if you gotta walk thru the Jiufen Old Street but is ok if your uber fetch u direct to the hotel. thru the old streets , look out for beef noodle shop and popular A-gan taro ball shop .

The room, though on the small side was lovely with beautiful hard wood floors, artistic personal touches and offering a glorious view. And the woman I interacted with; the hostess/manager was excellent. Good personality and knew the area very well.
The only thing I did not like was the breakfast. Two reasons, first it starts too late. Starting at 8:30 is just not early enough for travelers that want to get going. And the selection of offerings to eat was very limited.

This hotel is in a great location to visit Jiufen old street, the stairs down to the street are just a few steps away from the hotel. The reception area and common area are very nicely designed, and the common area has windows with an amazing view. We received a nice welcome snack of oolong tea and a matcha tea cake, and breakfast was really wonderful with an assortment of meats, vegetables, rolls, congee, and pickles.
The room itself was very small, we barely had enough space to open two small carry ons, and you have to climb over your stuff to get around the room. The bathroom doesn’t have an actual shower stall, it’s just a shower head and a drain on the floor of the bathroom. Parking was complicated, we had to park far away and lug our suitcases up a steep hill then move the car later once closer spots opened up.

Very beautiful hotel and room, we like the Spirited Away style feeling. Breakfast is good, extra points for the sea views during breakfast. Very clean facilities. Staff was helpful, even though she didn't speak English but we can add the Line contact and ask for any help any time.
The WiFi signal was very weak and we had to connect to 5G. The shower head holder kept moving around while showering. When we walk into the toilet the first thing we encounter is the shower, which is a bit odd, as it is usually at the back of the toilet. The room doesn't seem soundproof and the bed was a bit squeaky.

The hotel is amazing, the attention to details, the nice Japanese style and it was very clean. But most of all the staff was super kind and helpful. We were able to do some laundry with the help of Paul, but also when we were already checked out it started raining really bad. The staff then helped us with some covers for our backpacks.
Nothing really. It's only good to know that you have to climb up quite a few stairs to get there, in case you have big luggage or physical issues. But once you're up there the hotel is totally worth it 😁
