A great and really amazing and extremly beautiful nature reserve with lovely wildlife around the bangolows and with great views, landscape, white beaches, white dunes and a beautiful lake ("vlei").

The restaurant only had one dinner option: A 3-course-set-menu for R 450 per person.... This is quite expensive..... There is no shop where you can buy groceries or food in this nature reserve.... If you do not want to spend so much money for dinner you have to do self catering.... Please come prepared and with enough groceries..... Breakfast and lunch in the restaurant were both a la carte and very good and not so expensive. BE AWARE of very naughty BABOONS around the bungalows !!!! Keep all your doors and windows closed and locked when not at home! These baboons WILL DEFENETLY enter and cause a lot of damage in your bangalow !!! Do NOT leave any groceries, food, organic waste or any empty food packagings unattended ouside of the bungalows !!!!

We were absolutely amazed by our stay in our DeHoop Collection Cottage. When we arrived we saw so many animals (zebras, ostriches, antelopes...) on the green surrounding the cottages, the children were in awe. We had a great three course dinner and breakfast in the Fig Tree restaurant, which we can absolutely recommend. We also rented some mountainbikes and did a nice tour. Unfortunately, we stayed only for one night. Next time, we would definitely stay longer.

It's a wonderful one time experience and really worth the drive. Beautiful nature reserve where flora and fauna are number one and people are visitors. Keep that up!

the restaurant could do with better food quality. The chef is vegetarian and sadly the vegetarian options were rather mediocre. We understood the chef wasn't there when we were there. I would highly recommend that the food would be focused on vegetarian with meat or fish on the side.

The place is amazing! Animals wonder freely all around the buildings and if you head to the beach you will see the most beautiful show ever: groups of whales pass by in front of you! We were accomodated in a cottage and since it was a bit cold (July) , the manager on duty was so kind to exchange it with another one with fireplace inside, hè also gave us some wood for free and helped us with packing and moving things around, he was an angel! We also had a delicious dinner at the restaurant, this is a place to visit!

The cottages were immersed in the silence and beauty of the De Hoop Natural Reserve. Animals can be spotted walking around the facility and surrounding area.

Directions to get there were a little misleading, we were told to take the first road on the right and we mistakenly took the MTB road instead of the standard one to reach reception.

Beautiful location in the heart of De Hoop Nature Reserve. Nature lovers will love it. Cape eland, Cape mountain zebras, bontebok, Cape grysbok, grey rehbok are unmistakable. Knysna woodpecker is around the cottages.... The beach at Koppie Allen is very nice (great dolphins patrol) The local restaurant was delicious.

Service in the restaurant is really slow... but who's on a hurry?

It's a great place to relax and see some animals in the front yard. The dinner was fabulous and on from the beach you could see the whales with their kids. Yomthe drive is longer than what Google maps says as it's a 40 km drive on gravel Street and you can not actually go that fast. Also check times for loadshedding, only the nightstand lamps will work when power is off in the cottages

Everything was great

The location was lovely and our cottage very comfortable. The staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. We did a trip on the Vlei which was good and we visited the early man exhibition which was fantastic. Our stay was very relaxing.

Nice little cottage in country style. We stayed only one night and it rained a lot. But there were many different animals around and we used the little pool at the riverside. The dinner and breakfast was very good.

The weather was bad, but not to blame on someone. WiFi only in the restaurant is a bit inconvenient.

This property is unreal, you’re in nature with animals all over and so close to the whale trail. The facilities are great with everything you need, and the restaurant is close by too with Greta food and drink options.

The road heading towards the property is long (40 mins but took us an hour) with lots of small rocks and potholes - bigger car recommended!
