We had a wonderful stay at Anvershiel House! The room was lovely—comfortable, clean, and well-equipped with everything we needed for a relaxing overnight stay. The breakfast selection was fantastic, offering a variety of items to suit different dietary requirements. We especially loved the unique map wallpaper in the dining room! The property also offers ample parking, and it's conveniently just a short walk into town, which made exploring easy. Thanks for a great stay!

There was not anything we didn't like.

I loved the fact it was genuinely so close to everything so it wasn’t necessary to use my car for transport. It was a 5 minute walk to the beach! I also loved how caring and thoughtful the workers were, they really noticed small details in how to make a stay enjoyable and passed way over those expectations! Stuff like the fridge with juices, milk, water and the options for tea and coffee and the huge selection of the free breakfast in the morning! along with the rooms having a little booklet letting you know every piece of information you may need to know about the place to make your stay even easier!

the only negative was simply that the shower sometimes leaked quite a bit but we spoke about it and we know it’s not their fault and it didn’t ruin our stay at all!

The facility was bright, cheery and clean. The rooms were very comfortable; beds were on the firm side. We had a tv in the room which worked great. The bathroom was great because it had lots of space for your toiletries which is good when you’ve got 2 people. Would stay again and recommend that anyone else did as well. The breakfast choices were varied and delicious. Be prepared to make your coffee in a French press but a quick YouTube video led us to a perfect pot.

This property is a little further from town and when we tried to get a taxi it was going to take 30 minutes, which we weren’t prepared for but all worked out in the end.

The location is great, very convenient for local sightseeing. Free parking is very good, spacious and right outside the main door. Check-in is stress free, without codes etc etc. The continental breakfast is excellent, copious choices in continental cold cuts, cheeses, granola, yoghurts, breads, bagels, fresh fruit, etc etc and both quality and quantity are faultless. Kelli is very kind and helpful, a great asset to the establishment.

The light (by pulling a cord) in the bathroom didn't work, the TV didn't work - could be the remote control, I was too tired to bother to find out. A tiny TV mounted high on the wall in one corner is not for anyone's watching pleasure. It would be more welcoming if the owner could provide some sort of sitting area in the hallway or by the communal kitchenette area, for when we need to kill time after check-out or wait for the room to be ready.

The self check in was easy. Breakfast offered a good selection of cereals, store bought pastries and breads, cold cuts, yogurt, etc. The property is about a five minute walk from the West beach , but at least 15 minutes from town (restaurants and pubs).

The room was pleasant and clean, but had some odd aspects, like a very loud bathroom fan that comes on with the bathroom light, but you aren’t supposed to turn on after 11:00 p.m. so it doesn’t bother other guests…why not just fix this issue, in case people need to turn on the bathroom light? A small light over the sink was not working during our stay.

Facilities were great, lovely large room and kettle provided for making tea (incl. biscuits). Bed was very comfortable. Also liked the two armchairs to relax in. Bathroom facilities were also very good. Great selection of food for breakfast.

There was no cooked breakfast offered as had happened the year before. We enjoy an Ulster fry while on holiday or scrambled egg etc. Also, we saw very few staff and only saw Ian because there was a problem with payment. It felt a bit like being in an apartment with keys to get in on arrival and leaving key as you left. We missed 'the personal touch' which I thought Guest houses/ b&bs were known for.

This was a convenient and comfortable place to stay. We enjoyed the self-serve breakfast in the mornings.

This is pretty minor, but In the shower in our room you had to choose between good water pressure or constant temperature. If we selected the button for good water pressure, "Hi", the temperature alternated from super hot to ice cold. If we chose the "Eco" button, the temperature was constant but the water pressure was really light. It took a long time to rinse shampoo and conditioner out of my hair. Our friends in another room didn't have this issue. Their shower was fine.

The friendliness of the staff. Sylvia is just a young girl but a very good host. The room we had was lovely and the bed comfortable. There is a great choice of foods for breakfast, no hot food but I don't think anyone would care as there is so much choice. Different breads , bagels , cold meats and cheeses. Fruit, yoghurt and cold boiled eggs. There is also a small kitchen for people to use that has different teas, coffees, juice and loads of ice cubes in a big bowl in the freezer which I appreciated very much.

My only problem with this b&b was for me not within walking distance but that's because of arthritis in my knees and back. It was ok as we got a taxi into town and back on the night my husband was having a drink.

We had a fantastic stay at Anvershiel House, check in was smooth (loved the fact I didn't have to provide arrival time which can be tricky). Room was big, clean and comfy and had everything you might need for a short or long stay. Self service breakfast gives hostel vibes but there is plenty of choice so no one will be left disappointed. Location is away from the main area of Portrush but still very close to the beach, cafe's and bar. Parking space for each room which was the reason we booked. Highly recommend staying here.

Hard bed mattress was not to my liking and water pressure was low in the shower but this would not influence me to not stay here again.

fantastic place to stay, we stayed in room 2 which was a very generous size, lovely shower and bed. Great location as we were able to walk into town in the evening to the pub/ grab some food. on site parking is a big plus, and plenty of spaces to choose from. very very good breakfast, plenty to choose from and all amenities covered. Love the juice fridge and the pastries each morning. So pleased we stayed here, we shall always remember it as we got engaged the week we stayed!

there’s nothing not to like!
