Location right by the water and tge sound of the gently lapping waves while standing on the balcony. Pleasant views over boat marina, opposite island, town lights in the distance. Motel feels quite new. Staff helpful with tourist advice.

Building quite new but the decor and fittings not as sophisticated as they could be for this price range. From the description, it's somewhat not clear if a room has ocean views or not. It could have been stated more obviously that all rooms have views of the water. $ return for the initial deposit charge takes longer than expected.

Standard motel in a great location. Nothing special but nothing wrong. Walkable to marina, town, and on the waterfront. Nice folks work here. Good restaurant and bar. Probably just what you need.

Standard motel issues. Neighbors can be loud and nothing helps that. A bit dated but to be expected. Nothing really wrong. All worked fine.

They had a plaque on the front desk saying something about having the friendliest staff... and it's true!! Stayed here twice (July 10, Aug 6) and both times front staff were so kind and informative. The restaurant on site is great too -crab cakes bene is a MUST. Rooms are dated but have a gorgeous view of the bay.

Need blackout curtains in the rooms. Our second room just had vertical blinds and we were up with the sun.

The location on the water and the restaurant were both great. The staff were really exceptional. Though I had booked under only my current married name, my credit card had my original married name hyphenated with my current one. When the lady at the desk saw the first married name, she and her desk mate understood I was in town for a celebration of life service and talked to me about how they knew my stepson, and offered condolences. Though I have never lived in Port Hardy, they made me feel very cared for. My mother also felt ill while we were there and she had to change rooms the morning after we arrived. The staff were quick to help with no issue.

The beds were not as comfortable as I've had in hotels, but they were not too bad.

The receptionist Leah Holmes was absolutely outstanding. She used to work in local tourist info. As we came without exact plans what to see she elaborated for us a schedule with multiple activities - eg sea kayaking, hiking, whales and grizzly bear watching. Amazing girl with a passion to serve the customer.

that they where not able to fix the Internet until Monday when the Manager arrived overall it was a minor issue considering the view we hd from our room. one suggestion to the Hotel that is lao running the Restaurant. They should consider to give guest a rebate on the restaurant food bill (food only) as the restaurant options in Port Hardy are limited and that they got the advantage of having the guest on side. about the restaurant , we cn highly recommend the crab cakes, they are sensational

My wife and me we are both very happy with staying in that hotel. Everything was perfect, staff, location, food and just going on and on. Hopefully one day we will be back for one more time.

Arriving on the spot you see a dated hotel which needs renovation. But room was nice and fresh but a bit expensive

Well every room has an ocean view. The staff was amazing.

The pub attached to the hotel was closed and this place is expensive. I know we were there in high season (fishing season) and there is lots of demand but hard to justify Vancouver prices.

The Glen Lyon provides breakfast and use to put the breakfast voucher in the key card holder on check in. In the morning I asked front desk about this and they said "Only for people who are working". I said I'm here because of work, and the front clerk appeared somewhat reluctant to give out. My co-workers who were also at the hotel were not given vouchers.
