Their food generally is sumptuous,there is something for everyone , it gives value for money,the kids enjoyed swimming in their vast pool. The scenery and the hotel's ambience are veey beautiful and charming . The workers from the gate are warm and welcoming, they are so helpful in case of need . I wouid recommend that veryone visits Ciala Resort at least once in their lifetime..

The security lights affected our sleep,even after switching off all the lights in the room,we still have very bright lights reflecting in the room. The croaks from the frogs were a nuisance,I as an adult never slept for the two nights we were there

The rough road getting to the resort

My first time staying at Ciala Resort after it was recommended by Yvonne, their Sales and Marketing manager. The General Manager Johannes was always present to make sure that the guests are enjoying their stay. It is very tranquil and the staff is attentive! The location is away from the hustle and bustle of Kisumu town so it was perfect for hanging out with my mom. I felt safe and it was scenic all round. The food is great and the staff is receptive to feedback. I will definitely stay here again. Hopefully I will get time to use the swimming pool!

A beautiful hotel in stunning surroundings, my young daughter and wife throughly enjoyed the pool. The little girl can be disruptive at times but the restaurant staff were so understanding and helpful. We are visiting from the UK but whenever we return to Kenya time will be made for a visit to Ciala.

It's not a complaint but l would have loved to have a little bit more of European food on menu. Didn't notice the, bacon on request sign,until my last morning,

Ciala Resort is a beautiful retreat located about 20minutes from the airport (approx 40minutes from the CBD). The ambience is of calm, rest and relaxation with pristine landscaping vistas and clean, well equipped rooms. The area doesn't offer much to do in terms of activities, shopping etc. (hence it being more a getaway vacation) but there is a pool along with gym, spa, steam and sauna facilities (thought the sauna was not functional during my stay). bicycle hire is also available. The rooms are spacious, well cleaned and with all the necessary amenities. The staff are friendly and accommodating The menu had a wonderful variety of well made local cuisine as well as other equally tasty international dishes, all of which were well priced

Point of improvement/recommendation would be to add a snacks menu (sandwiches, mandazi, samosas, tapas etc) Also, the wifi connection was bad throughout, the hotel needs to boost their routers and extenders

Set in a quiet rural location 20 min from Kisumu the Ciala provides a safe tranqil oasis. The rooms are located amongst well tended gardens and where spacious and clean. The staff were both happy and effecient. There is a bar eating area by the pool , play equipement for kids as well as a more formal resturant and funtion rooms . Certainly the best place I have stayed at in Kenya in the last 10 years.

Greater variety to the menu with perhaps some simple international plates. Italian,French ,Spanish ,Mexican or Thai mayde.

The room was impeccably clean, comfortable, and elegantly furnished, providing a relaxing retreat for our entire family. The attention to detail in the room amenities and thoughtful touches, such as welcome treats for the kids, made us feel right at home. The beds were incredibly cozy, ensuring a restful night's sleep for all of us. Facilities and Activities: Ciala Resort Kisumu boasts an impressive array of facilities and activities for families of all ages. The expansive pool area was a definite highlight for our kids, who spent hours splashing around and enjoying the water slides. The resort's well-maintained gardens provided a peaceful setting for family strolls and picnics, while the children's playground kept our little ones entertained for hours. The on-site spa and fitness center allowed us parents to indulge in some much-needed relaxation and rejuvenation. As a frequent business traveler, I can confidently say that Ciala Resort is an exceptional choice for professionals on the go. The elegant and comfortable rooms provided a peaceful sanctuary after a long day of meetings. The Wi-Fi was reliable, allowing me to seamlessly catch up on work. The boardrooms were well-equipped and the staff was attentive to my needs. The resort's serene atmosphere and top-notch amenities allowed me to recharge and stay focused. Ciala Resort exceeded my expectations, and I will definitely be returning during my next business trip.

My family and I spent 5 nights at Ciala Resort. Beautiful environment, amazing and spacious Executive Suite, comfortable bed and couches. Hospitable and friendly employees all the way from the reception to room service. The food was very delicious too.

A few drawbacks: 1. Frequent power outages throughout the period. 2. Although very hardworking, the housekeeping team seams to be overwhelmed. Despite making frequent calls daily, our executive suite was cleaned between 4-5pm daily rather than in the morning hours. Dirty cutlery stayed in the room until evenings. 3. The a la carte menu is restrictive/ narrow.

I liked the garden very much. The food was African style and very tasty.

They had four parties in that location one Saturday and staff was very busy til they forgot the "normal" guests (my feeling)
