If you are looking for some peace and quiet near to Syracuse then you can't get much more peaceful than Caiammari Boutique and Spa Hotel. With its immaculate gardens, two huge swimming pools, good sized rooms and absolutely lovely and anazing staff, it really is somewhere to unwind and relax. The breakfast is very good and includes homemade cakes made by the owners fair hands - it's work it just for the cake! The restaurant offers a limited number of anti pasta, first course and mains. All were a very good standard and traditional with a modern twist. As the menu doesn't change, if you are staying longer than say 3 days it is advisable to start to look outside the hotel for dinner options. The restaurant is closed one day per week, so again it will be necessary to leave to hotel (although the owner volunteered to come in an cook pizza for those guests that had no car). This leads me to my next recommendation - transport. The property is close to Syracusa and Ortiga but is a car/taxi journey away. This includes some of the nearby restaurants. A taxi ordered via the hotel is €25 one way, a taxi return from the rank was €35. All taxis come from Syracusa so its roughly the same cost regardless of destination. For the odd night, it's OK, but to do this for several nights becomes a little costly, hence why a car is thoroughly recommended. Regarding the state of roads and fly tipping, which you may have read in other reviews, this sadly is endemic across Sicily in non-tourist areas - even the road to the British War Cemetery is littered with rubbish. This is way beyond the control of the hotel and they should not be held responsible for something out of their control. It certainly does not detract from the property itself. Finally bring some mosquito repellent - the little rascals are across Sicily - inland, Mount Etna, the seaside - they love the taste of tourists.

I think it would be nice if the chef changed the dinner menu more regularly. The food was fantastic, but the menu limited. A stay of more than 4 days would result in having to choose the same thing. Of course you can go out, and we did, but some guests who did not have cars were a little stuck.

The hotel is very beautiful and tranquil, set in gorgeous gardens, and the staff were wonderfully attentive, and very friendly and kind. There are two beautiful large swimming pools, one for splashing, and the other for swimming. The spa treatments were excellent (thanks Laura!), and the rooms very pretty and comfortable (with really good, noiseless air-con). Breakfasts (included) were delicious, with a wide range of fresh homemade savoury and sweet pastries, jams, cakes, fruit, cheese. Dinner (you need to sign up earlier in the day for this) was delicious and very good value. The menu was typically (delicious) Sicilian dishes, but the chef kindly made alternatives for my friend (who doesn't eat fish). Thanks to all the staff for making everything perfect!

The only thing to say is that the hotel is a little remote, so you need a car to go anywhere, but it's easy enough to order a taxi, and Siracusa is not far away. To properly explore beaches nearby I think you'd really need your own car. But having said that, the place is so beautiful and relaxing that you could easily spend a few days not even wanting to go anywhere else. But remoteness also means it was very quiet and peaceful, so it's not really a negative, just something to note. It can be a destination in itself, if you really want to relax, or a great base for exploring (with a car). We spent a week there, and went elsewhere (by car) on 3 evenings, and the week flew by!

I stayed in Ortigia for a couple of nights and then spent a night here, to relax. The grounds are really pretty and having an aperitivo by the pool was exactly what I wanted. The restaurant was a little more expensive compared to meals in Ortigia, but that's to be expected and the food was still tasty. I'm glad I ate there (even as a solo traveller surrounded by couples). The staff are really friendly and even gave me a small bottle of their olive oil to take home. Would recommend if you want a quiet and relaxing stay near Siracusa. Short drive to beaches or rocky areas to relax and swim - I recommend the cliff-head by Arenella

We had a truly wonderful stay at this spa hotel. Nestled in a stunning garden, the hotel provided a tranquil and picturesque setting for our getaway. Our room was spacious and comfortable, featuring a large private balcony with a beautiful view of the garden. The breakfast was exceptional, offering a delightful range of homemade pastries and cakes every morning. Dinner at the hotel was also very enjoyable. This family-run hotel stands out for its exceptionally friendly and helpful staff, who made us feel very welcome from the moment we arrived. We highly recommend this hotel and look forward to our next visit.

This is a really lovely oasis of a hotel near Syracuse. The staff were very helpful and always smiling. The breakfasts were very good with some lovely home made cakes and fresh fruit. The pool was very nice-a good size with plenty of sun loungers and because the hotel is not huge was never too busy. The room we had (a superior) was very spacious with a comfortable bed, efficient air conditioning and a good bathroom where everything worked and which had a good shower which always had enough hot water. All in all we loved it! It is a good base to explore southeast Sicily from.

Nothing! Loved it all!

Book this place - you won’t be disappointed. The photos really don’t do it justice, it’s an absolutely stunning, tranquil oasis which you won’t want to leave. The staff are so helpful and we felt immediately at home. The food was exceptional and a good level of variety. Our room seemed very recently renovated and was done to a really high degree. If you’re looking for somewhere relaxing, but close enough to a town then Dimora Caiammari is perfect

Beautiful and well maintained property. The pool is amazing, perfect to end a long day after sightseeing or to just stay there relaxing all day. The breakfast is very complete, much better than what usually served in most Italian hotels and the staff was super nice (special thanks to Gabriela, top service!). We had dinner at the restaurant one night and the food was great, but if you have a car there are also other good options nearby. The location was excellent, but yes you definitely need a car!

The room was very basic. We didn't realise at the moment but we did not get a room with 1 single bed and 1 large double bed, as shown in the description for the "Deluxe" double option. So either it is not worth the price difference over the "Classic" double, or we were given a classic but charged for a deluxe... - check this upon arrival!

The hotel was very nice, it has a beautiful garden and apartments are built like a little village. They have a lot of orange, lemon and palm trees on the estate. The road from the gate to the reception is like in the movies. The room was cosy and clean. Breakfast was amazig, you only need to get there early. The staff and the hotel manager are very friendly and they show great care for their clients. We went there for our honeymoon and they surprised us with a plush heart and rose petals on the bed.

Room is a bit dark without the lights on during the day, as it has only one window. But that's maybe just the way traditional houses on Sicily were built, I wouldn't know.

Everyone was so friendly, attentive, and helpful. The pools and grounds were beautiful. The food was delicious. And, we were surprised with an absolutely delicious dessert for our anniversary, a dessert that we have not had before nor since. This was my favorite place that we stayed on our 17 day trip of Sicily, Tuscany, & Roma.
