S. Martin Hotel is a beautiful old building with all modern conveniences integrated. Hotel staff are all extremely helpful and friendly. The hotel is ideally situated on the edge of the centro storico of Giovinazzo and the beautiful lungomare. There are numerous excellent restaurants nearby. Everywhere was fairly quiet during the first two weeks of December and we welcomed that, but I imagine S. Martin Hotel would be buzzing with activity in the summer season, when rooftop bar & other amenities are open

The hotel restaurant was only open for dinner at the weekend.

Good quality old building with good quality rooms, very close to the old town and good restaurants. Good breakfast with great staff who helped in any way possible, very tranquil breakfast room with lots of two tables. The reception staff were all very helpful and recommended very good restaurants, they sorted out any small problems very quickly, were always very friendly and happy to help and give good information about the area.

Lack of a lounge where you could sit, relax, chat and have a drink, they have a sky- bar on the rooftop but was only open at the weekends for drinks from 6pm, lack of sun beds and sitting out areas, they could easily put sun beds and parasols on the rooftop and on the 2nd floor terrace to make good sunbathing and socialising areas. The car parking, although very secure, was a ten minute drive away, the car park owner did come and pick you up and also drove you back to near the hotel, which worked ok, but was sometimes a long wait after the hotel phoned him !

Beautiful old world and charming hotel right on the sea, with a window view overlooking a courtyard and the sea. Location was within a few minutes walking within the lovely historic center. Comfortable beds and nice amenities. Hotel and restaurant staff were so delightful and helpful. Car had to parked off site but pick up and drop off was very easy and quick. Train station was also an easy 10-15 minute walk.

We drove our car there but It was difficult to find. You cannot drive up to it. Better instructions on how to arrive by car would be helpful. That said it was very easy to park our car in the secure site a few minutes away and they arranged quick transport to and from.

Just finished a lovely 4 day break in Giovinazzo. S. Martin Hotel was our base whilst we visited nearby Altamura, Ostuni, Alberobello, Monopoli, and Locorontondo. Giovinazzo is a lovely neighbourhood with great restaurants to dine in every evening. The hotel is an experience in itself and staff are great. We booked rent a car through the hotel and they were spot on with their recommendation. Enza from where we rented the car is a very polite lady and always ready to help. You can park the car in the car hire carpark and Enza or her son will drive you back to the hotel. Will surely visit again.

Almost nothing. Would recommend coffee facilities in the room.

The atmosphere of the hotel located within the 13th monastery walls is charming. The advantage is a large number of publicly accessible terraces and balconies where you can drink coffee or a glass of wine. The reception staff was very nice and helpful. Although there is no restaurant in the hotel, there are many small, charming restaurants in the immediate vicinity.

The problem is finding a parking space near the hotel. The parking lot is quite far from the hotel, but I must admit that the transport from the parking lot to the hotel and from the hotel to the parking lot is organized very well.

A week's stay at the S.Michel hotel was an unforgettable experience. It is an extraordinary place. Located right next to the sea. With a wonderful terrace from which you can admire the panorama of the sea, but also the old town. In addition, an excellent atmosphere and tasty breakfasts with fresh made ricotta and crostini baked on site by Patrycja. The ones with apricots - insane. Patricia! Thank you very much for the recipe. The hotel is in the historic part of Giovinazzo. Lots of great places around for dinner in the evenings. You can't get bored there. The town itself is also an ideal place to explore the surrounding area. Bari, Ostuni, Matera, San Giovanni Rotondo. When we add to this the sun and warm sea, it is hard to imagine a better place. We highly recommend the Hotel S. Michel and Giovinazzo itself.

Truly stunning conversion, amazing location with unparalleled sunset views from the incredible rooftop bar!! ALL staff were wonderful from before check in to after check out!! Staying here was like discovering a £20 note in an old jacket - puts a smile on your face all day! The breakfast was delicious, my husband is coeliac and they had an assortment of gf products in a special section that he really appreciated. Loved the solarium-loved an honesty fridge on each level for soft drinks etc. It just felt like someone had put thought and love plus fantastic Italian flair into this wonderful property, we will definitely return!!

We will simply take a taxi next time - our stress level with the nearby car park being closed for reconstruction, roadside parking prohibited due to a procession and a delay in the secure parking really tested us but that had nothing to do with the hotel, they were helping us!!

Very good location and by train swiftly in Bari or Molfetta or ... Direct and easy to reach. Hotel near the sea with very cosy rooms and (rather hard) bed. Bathroom is comfortable but a bit outdated... the water is warm and strong in the shower. Pefect for family holiday for a short period, very nice breakfast and good coffee!

A bit noisy rooms from the corridor, and outside the hotel sometimes also noisy (not long). Only downside was the technical workers that started during our holiday stay at 8 AM in the morning with drilling and etc. Hopefully this is only for a short time...

The hotel is absolutely wonderful, so is the staff. It is located right by the sea in an old monastery. The building itself is magnificent with beautiful art work all over. Giovinazzo is a quiet little place, 20 minutes north of Bari's city center. Easily reached by train or car. The breakfast is superb. Also, there are nice little restaurants in the vicinity of the hotel. A real gem in Puglia!

The wifi connection was sometimes on and off but it is just a minor issue. Actually, while on vacation, why to be on the internet? :)

Giovinazzo is a rare gem that you shouldn't miss! I travelled with my mom, stayed here for a week and definitely had a wonderful experience at S. Martin. The hotel is absolutely stunning. The building itself and location in the heart of the old town is a spot on. Each corner of this place is unique and simply breathtaking! Amazing and delicious breakfast in the courtyard, the view from the rooftop, and a beautiful beach right next to the hotel. Perfect getaway. Every staff member was delightful and eager to help, however - a big shout out to Francesco and Patrizia especially. They went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable. Grazie! ❤️
