We loved our stay at Casa Luna. The property is beautiful - very relaxing and great to relax in the jacuzzi after a wet busy day! The reception staff particularly Karen and Katya prior to our arrival were exceptional. Food is good. Luna suite was spacious. However my biggest shout out is to Antonio one of the grounds men who walked around one evening looking for wildlife for us. He didn’t manage to find the red eyed frog he wanted to some found it in the morning and showed us. We were just leaving so perfect last impressions.

These things did not spoil our stay but the breakfast staff are grumpy each morning ! One day we didn’t want to sit in a dark corner but as the front tables were set for 4 we couldn’t sit there. The tables are all the same size just extra settings. It rains a lot and unexpectedly - you have one umbrella in your room. It would be great to have them dotted around the property. We were wet a lot - somewhere to dry your clothes in your room or outside would be really helpful.

Breakfast was good - lovely staff. Pool are was great. Nice walk in the grounds into the forest. Location a little out of town, but gave a more relaxed feel.

Breakfast was all served, including drinks - would have been easier to have a drinks station to self serve tea/coffee etc. The wifi was only in public areas and didn't extend to our room (and often there wasn't a phone signal in the room either). The pool was opened at 8am in the morning (could have been earlier) and the pool was closed off in the evening - as that was one of the three areas with wifi, it meant that even if you just wanted to sit and use the wifi, you couldn't in that space.

Amenities: trails were beautiful an added bonus Breakfast was a wonderful selection Staff were friendly Tons of birds and exquisite plants We liked that the hot tubs felt private Felt very safe, parking was convenient Near town but off the main road Tremendous amount of flora! Awesome birding! We saw toucans and on our Merlin app , 12 birds were picked up in 4 minutes If you want a nature slash city stay with amenities this is the place but if you want more of a nature driven vacation hidden from the hustle and bustle of the very busy town of la fortuna then i would opt for an Airbnb or arenal lodge

Couldn’t see the volcano but it was not the fault of location just depends on weather A little high for Costa Rica -$250 a night Live bands on weekends There is no WiFi in rooms so if you are trying to work remote, it’s a no go

The hotel has great location, away from the downtown noise and traffic yet close to attractions, restaurants, and supermarkets. The reception staff is very welcoming and they offer great recommendations for tours and activities. The pools and jacuzzis were great, offering several options to choose from. Great cocktails at the pool bar! The rooms were spotless clean and well equipped. I particularly liked the beds and the high quality toiletry products. The highlight was the perfect volcano view from my room!

The rooms had a slight mildew smell so I had a bit of trouble sleeping the first night (I am allergic). The next morning I opened all windows and doors and let the air in all day, that seemed to help. While this is not uncommon in tropical environments, especially in the tail end of the rainy season, this is something that the hotel could take care of proactively. The restaurant staff is not very friendly, even a bit grumpy at times, and the food is just OK. However you can find plenty of great options everywhere in La Fortuna.

Casa Luna is a really wonderful spot in La Fortuna! I went with family, and we enjoyed relaxing by the pool and drinking smoothies in the jacuzzis. The price point is medium for the area. Everything was comfortable and clean, wifi was strong enough for us, and breakfast was great in the morning. I also bought a massage which was AMAZING. Would absolutely go back!!!

People have complained about wifi, but for us it was strong enough to use in our room, as long as you reconnected, so I don't consider that a real complaint. Know that if you stay here, unliked some of the other resorts, you don't have access to the hot springs. That said, many people do day passes to the big resorts, and there is also a free hot springs spot that is very popular and easy to get to.

Spacious comfortable room with good facilities .

The WiFi did not work in any of the rooms which was not clear when I booked and made things tricky. I had to go into the reception for WiFi Also breakfast is from 7 which is too late when yours start at 7.30 prompt

The hotel is good value for money. The breakfast omelettes each day were very tasty and selection of fruit was good. We had a car but it was close to everything so just a short drive to La Fortuna or the trips. We had a massage on the first day in the open air at night listening to the wildlife which was great. We saw a sloth, lots of beautiful birds and heard a howler monkey one night. Our boys loved the pool and we all loved the jacuzzi’s as always had our own one and lots of privacy

The hotel dinner was expensive but town had lots of choices for dinner so it was fine. Plus we liked exploring

We had a beautiful balcony facing directly towards the Volcano, which we could appreciate also while laying in bed. The room was spacious and the beds themselves probably the best ones we had in our whole trip along Costa Rica. In the morning you could spot so many different kinds of birds directly from the balcony, that would visit the flowers of the hotel garden; which really makes you feel immerse in Nature. The breakfast was spectacular with so many local dishes and fruits; and the food at the restaurant was always delicious. The pool is super nice, due to the weather we limited ourselves to the hot tubs which were amazing after a long hiking day. We were surprised to see the hotel has its own veggie garden, and almost a third of the property kept as a reserved area, with a really nice path for a morning walk. We would definitely come back

The layout of the hotel was great! Location was brilliant, but you would need to take a taxi to go into the town centre. The rooms were very spacious and the view of the Arenal volcano from the balcony was amazing! The staff were very friendly and attentive. The breakfast was great! There is a small pool on site.

My partner and I booked a 1 hour massage (Casa Luna’s unique version) and we were very disappointed. It was not worth £50 each (including a 15% discount). The massage consisted of slow up and down movements. It was basically a gentle rub. Even though I had written on the form where I would like focusing on, this was not done. Instead, I had to mention it during the massage, so didn’t feel totally relaxed. Wasn’t worth the money.

This was a nice stay. Spacious room, a good shower, lovely surroundings. Staff was friendly and helpful. Good location, good value for money. I'd recommend staying here. Close to the waterfall and La Fortuna.

Not enough sun beds by the pool. Considering the amount of rooms, there need to be more sun beds. Always when we were at the pool, all the sun beds were taken. Not so nice to always have to sit in the bar area when the kids were playing in the pool. The breakfast was fine but dinner in the restaurant not so great. We only ate there once because the dinner was not good. Also very limited selection.
