It was pretty much spot on - apart from the pillows

For the love of God please sort out your pillows - all hotels should have a thick heavy pillow and then a lighter thin one. They were awful - sort of weird tubes that were so uncomfortable

Breakfast and the size of the bed.

We did not like the fact that when we arrived at the hotel we had to wait for about half an hour because "the manager needed to validate the cleanliness of the room". Please note that we arrived after 4pm. The same was happening to all other guests that were arriving at the same time. Additionally the lady at the reception was not polite and had a bad attitude.

Amazing breakfast. An exciting and wide variety of so many things. The best compared to our other European stays. Central antique and chocolate indulgence quarter. Many exceptional local cafes and restaurants within the square. Very vibrant. We even had a visit from the Pope during our stay. Staff efficient. Excellent room service system showing green light in hallway, when requesting room service, towels and daily water. Our room was central, away from lifts and stairwell. We could select our room prior to staying. Their interface systems are very good, efficient and user friendly. We loved this place, the chain of hotels is exceptional. We can't wait to stay with them again. Top of our options list.

We stayed 3 nights at this hotel and our stay was fanstastic. The hotel location around Sablon Square with many cafes and restaurants close by made our stay easy and comfortable. Breakfast is one of the best ever eaten in an European hotel. Sumptous, tasty and plenty of choice between eggs made to order, breads, fruit, cold meats and juices. Coffee was exceptional. Room was massive with a lovely view of the Cathedral nearby as our check in manager was generous enough to upgrade our room. Will stay again at NH - Grand Sablon on next trip.

Everything was on point. No complaints.

Helpful and kind staff at breakfast. Always greeted us with a smile. They were happy to answer questions. It was convenient to visit the city centre, just a 10 minute walk. The hotel felt safe. Breakfast was great and had gluten-free options. What I loved most was that the food products were labelled appropriate to show the allergens. I liked that I could choose whether the room needs to be cleaned or not. Appreciated it very much as I think daily room cleaning wasteful.

I wish we had the information that a credit card was needed at the time of check-in. I did not find this information in the emails I received. Luckily I carried a card and had to cover for my colleagues who only had debit cards. We don't stay in hotels much, hence did not know about it. I found it a little strange that the water bottle kept for me on the table in my room was already opened. Therefore, I did not use that bottle which was meant for me to use during the stay. It was a minor thing, hence I didn't mind - also the tap water was safe to drink.

I do not understand why the hotel is rated so poorly on booking. The staff is exceptional, and helped us to fulfill all our wishes regarding the room, having dinner in the restaurant, or ordering a taxi. Not to mention the breakfast which met our highest expectations, having all kinds of options at hand. Our suite was lovely, it was divided by a door, each room having its own bathroom. We chose the Green stay option and we received a voucher for 2 drinks from the minibar, so the hotel management also understands the importance of sustainability. Although the city is vibrant, the area where the hotel is located was very quiet and safe, allowing us to rest and relax.

The location is great, close to Grand Place and Brussels Central train station and a lot of nice restaurants nearby. Breakfast is nice, lots of choices and good quality. Room is big, coffee machine and tea in the room.

Not very clean, in our room there where some blood marks on the bed table, table close to the TV and the dressing. We mentioned it to reception the next day so that they can clean it (we had arrived late in the night so could not mention it in the same day we arrived) but they did not and so we ended up cleaning it ourselves. Spider nets on the walls, one of the bed sheets had a hole in it. Not very good lighting in the room.

Finally one of the better city hotels where the room is not 'cramped', with bathroom comfortably sized. Our room also has a window that opens out in privacy at the back of the building, which provides fresh air. But mostly am very pleased with the air-con which works!!! It brings the temp down to a decent 15ºC. Have been in innumerable city hotels which ac is either a "fan only" or that it is still in 'winter mode' ... with windows that cannot be opened! The entrance to the hotel is discreet, although nestled amongst restaurants and shops. The lobby is always wonderfully perfumed, with a 'sweet trolley' for everyone on their way out or back. Staff is suitably old-school: focused and attentive. Communication with hotel had been a pleasure: questions and requests promptly dealt with. In our view, the location is simply perfect - near enough to the old town attractions but not so near that it be noisy and crowded.

Our room has 'wooden floors', which is great. But then, if there are guests occupying the room above and walks around with outside shoes on, it does transmit down to the room below. Maybe some rugs or polite requests for guests to use the provided slippers would be helpful. Parking at the hotel is valeted as it uses a lift and a bit complicated to get in and out. Also, there is no electric charging at the hotel parking although it is available at street level outside the hotel.

I value reviewers feedback when making hotel selections so hopefully this will help others in choosing. In short a superb hotel, in an excellent location. Slightly out of the traditional tourist spots but perfectly so and literally minutes walking into the main central area. Fabulous spot for cafe culture, art and restaurants. Bedrooms were clean, spacious and very well appointed, the beds substantial and very comfortable. Housekeeping was efficient and reception staff attentive and super helpful with excellent local knowledge and recommendations. Many reviewers have commented on the amazing breakfast - absolutely agree - worth adding to your booking, saving the need for any lunch. The options are extremely varied (children and adults alike will be enthralled by the DIY waffle making and toppings station alone!), numerous tea and coffee options including takeaway cups and the different stations are consistently refreshed by the attentive catering team. All in all I would highly recommend, one of the nicest hotels I've stayed in for many years.

Staff was very helpful when I checked in early and concerned that the room might be too small, but since I was traveling alone it was perfect for one person. And the location opposite the church was ideal, and it was noiseless. It's too bad the Eurostar I was traveling on arrives at and departs from Brussels Midi rather than Central, which would have been more convenient, and travelers might want to take a different train from Amsterdam and to Paris so that they can walk the 400 meters from Brussels Central, but then the Eurostar is great for speed.

It's hard to imagine a hotel could have better. I had the usual problem with the keycard that it can be difficult to unlock the door and need to be reprogrammed.
