place was initially quite underwhelming aesthetically, being quite worn in some parts especially the bath/shower, but then everything worked properly, TV and wifi were good, lighting setup was very good, selection of furniture, layout, size of room was spot on. And then the bed --- it was sooo comfy! Had the best sleep in 2 weeks. After the second night I'm convinced I'll be back for a longer stay. I should also mention that the hot water comes on quickly, and the central climate control is quiet and well-adjusted. Great value for the quality of snooze, plus the price was very attractive

Owner staff was beyond helpful. So accommodating! I forgot my phone charger cord and they let me borrow one at the front desk and insisted I keep in on checkout. Upgraded my stay from a single to a queen double because the AC was on in the queen room! Nice breakfast with hot coffee, eggs, waffles and biscuits and gravy, juice and cereals. This place is worth the stopping before or after Amarillo on the 40 - hands down.

Its on the original Route 66 so the rooms are obviously dated, but that adds to the quaintness of the property. Seeing the older tile colors was really cool. Everything worked in the room. AC, TV (with printed guide), all the lights and even the bathroom ceiling fan was quiet!

The owner was very nice and helpful. He was very helpful with my husband in regards to how to maneuver the U-Haul and the trailer through the parking lot and let my husband park it wherever he liked because he was a novice at pulling such a large vehicle. he was very personable. He had the rooms all warmed up for us as it was a very very cold evening when we got there very pleasant man I couldn’t begin to explain how nice it was to have such a kind and friendly person after a long, hard day of driving. The rooms were clean and warm. The beds were comfortable. It was a very nice restful evening after as I said a long day of driving on our move from California to Iowa thank you very much Shamrock.

Nice Route 66 experience. The room was clean and though the building is dated, there were no unpleasant odors. Parking is right outside the door. Our neighbors in the room next to us were from Australia and loving it. We convinced another traveler who we met photographing Route 66 scenes to stay there as well. When we left the next the next morning, it appeared all the rooms had been rented.

Things could always be better, the building could use a fresh coat of paint, etc; but for the price we had a fun experience. If you are looking for luxurious accommodations, this is not it.

We liked that this place was a family-owned and operated business. The price could not be beaten especially considering it included breakfast (waffles, juice, cereal, etc - better than most we had on our trip) which saved us money and time stopping for breakfast later. The rooms were clean and the place was quiet. We dealt with the owners in the office, at breakfast, and cleaning the rooms and every encounter was warm and pleasant. I don't know if/when our travels will take us back to Shamrock, but if we get there, we'll be staying here again.

A minor criticism, the place seemed a bit dated but that was what we expected for being an independent establishment and considering the price. Still, the cleanliness and value made up for older furnishings.

It is a well preserved Route 66 hotel near the Texas Panhandle. You can feel the history about you in this hotel and in other buildings on the strip. A nice simple breakfast was a bonus.

Not the style of the day but an indoor visiting area would have been nice. However, there was outdoor neighbor chatting if you wanted it. I got to talk with a prior resident on the area who coach high school football. He was a wonderful bonus.

Older motel lovingly remodeled by the owner. I generally like being able to drive up to my room, rather than park in a lot and walk into a building to get to my room. Room was clean and quiet. The town appears to close up around nine, and there was no traffic to speak of. Breakfast was good, including the normal free hot breakfast items. The rate was very good for the quality.

The road was being redone along the street by the hotel, but that may have kept the traffic down.

Loved the location, easy to get to, no road noise from highway, a/c was excellent, room was clean! Bed was comfortable, had a microwave an Fridge, bonus! bathroom was retro decor. Pink tub an toilet loved it. Shower pressure excellent an hot water ta boot! What a plus! I will definitely put this motel on my Come back to list for future trips east or west on route 66!

There isn't anything wrong with this motel.

Rooms are clean and comfortable, the host at the front desk was extremely gracious and checked on us to make sure everything was ok. He also provided local info. The location was perfect. It's right off the highway, near food and gas and the locals were indeed a joy and very friendly! Oh and there was a wall heater in the bathroom which I loved!!! Breakfast and ice packs were included. We stayed in a family room with 3 beds. Fridge, microwave and dining table in the room. Dog friendly (small fee).

The water was warm but not hot. But nothing we couldn't live with.

Loved the 3 queen beds in one room. Room was very spacious. For being an older motel it was very clean. The owner was so helpful everyday. He was available whenever we needed something. We were there for 6 days visiting friends. We never woke up in time for breakfast, but he was kind enough to allow my Dad to get coffee in the breakfast room all throughout the day. There are coffee makers in the rooms, but the cup it makes is very small and not enough for my Dad who drinks it all day, everyday. It was very quiet. Probably the most quiet motel/hotel I've ever stayed in. It was conveniently located within walking distance to the U Drop Inn Cafe and so many other things to see in Shamrock.

We were there in January and it snowed. Which was beautiful and they took care to salt the parking lot and pathways and clear them well. The heat worked a little too well, but if you turned it off it got cold super fast. There was no in between.
