What a great place to stay in Mystic, Conn.! The staff met you and walked you to your room. The room was roomy and comfortable. There was a small seating area and a deck outside the room that provided even more room to relax and enjoy! The bathroom was spacious and included a jacuzzi bathtub which was wonderful! You could have coffee, fruit and pastries delivered to your room each morning. There was a great food market right across the street that had wonderful breakfast, lunch and dinner items.

The room lacked a small refrigerator, but you had unlimited access to the ice machine. We were able to keep our perishables in a small cooler that we brought. Would have liked an in room small coffee machine.

This was the second time I stayed at the Taber Inn. The first time I stayed in a Queen Balcony Room on the second floor in the Wexford House. Nice room, but I'm not a fan of canopy beds. So, I decided to upgrade to a bigger room with a regular bed - a King Luxury Room in the East Wing building. I had a HUGE room on the second floor with access to a semi-private deck. My room was in the corner, so, I essentially had the corner of the deck all to myself. Very clean and comfortable accommodations. The office staff and housekeeping staff are SO friendly and warm. This facility is family-owned and operated, so there is a little extra TLC that goes into the property. I love that it's located away from the touristy crowds of downtown Mystic Seaport and the Olde Mystick Village, but either a short bike ride or leisurely walk away. Perfect for a weekend getaway on your own or for couples.

My only criticism of the property is that all of the rooms, with the exception of the Carriage House and the Waterford House, do not come with fridges. There is certainly room to put a mini fridge in the rooms I've stayed in (King Luxury Room and Queen Balcony Room). Given the fact that there is a market with prepared foods across the street, as well as the possibility of bringing in leftovers from dining out in Mystic, I'm surprised Taber does not provide mini fridges in the rooms. All other inns and hotels in the area provide mini fridges, but lack the charm and quietude of the Taber Inn. I hope the Taber Family consider including mini fridges for all rooms in the near future.

Friendly staff, Joe & Tom are very welcoming and full of good info about the area. Location is away from the bustle of downtown but close enough to get there easily. The inn is a charming group of buildings, very well maintained and lovely, including a huge indoor pool with all the amenities. We were in the "motel" part which was very reasonably priced and convenient. A pleasant surprise was the sitting area in the back where we could have coffee and light breakfast they bring to your room every morning. The room was clean and comfortable for 2 people, air-conditioned. The 'market' across the street is really a huge deli with a wide selection of sandwiches, salads and other gourmet goods (but no milk!). Plenty of parking wherever we went. It was easy to get around from there. Mystic has so much to do, so many good restaurants and activities. My friend and I are ready to go back and bring visitors! Highly recommend!

We left a bag with some food in it (open crackers & cereal) on the carpet, and there were ants in it the next day, but we cleaned it all out and got rid of the food, so no more ants after that. Lesson learned!

We are a little unfamiliar with the area but the hotel was easy to find and had huge signs you couldn’t miss. The inn was even nicer than we expected from pictures. From the moment we walked in, Joe was super friendly, pleasant, and helpful. He helped us pick places to eat, places to visit and shop, etc. Our room had a parking spot directly out from and a lot for all cars that was super convenient. The room was immaculate, bigger than we thought, and had even more amenities than were shown when booking, lot a hot tub right in our room, and more. In the morning breakfast came quickly and was delicious. Overall this was the best place we have ever stayed in for our travels and we want to visit Mystic again just to come back to this inn. Joe was the best part of it all and he gave us the perfect beginning to our trip!

There was nothing we didn’t like. We had the perfect stay!

It is right across from a quaint coffee shop/bakery and a mile from downtown town Mystic. Ice cream place and Nana’s a short walk. They provide bikes with baskets to ride to the Amtrak station or downtown which is great bc finding parking downtown is tricky and pricey on weekends. Wonderful indoor pool and towels provided. Maps provided and great recommendations based on your needs or diet (I have a gluten allergy). They bring breakfast and coffee to your room every morning. All the staff was amazing, friendly, and even called us when we forgot something in the room. They really went above and beyond.

The beds were a little firm for me.

We did really enjoy our stay, the breakfast each morning was great and the spa bathtub was superb. Our favorite part of our stay was the pool, I especially never wanted to leave the pool lol. The bed in our room was also very comfortable.

The only negative we had was that we spotted ants. We had noticed a lot in the bathroom and a few on the wall near our bed. The kind lady at the desk did give us raid to spray, but we did not think it was something we should have had to do ourselves. Obviously we know it's the season for them, but we believe the room should have been sprayed prior to our stay.

Good location, it is 1 mile to the centre of town and 1 mile to the Seaport museum. Being just outside town rather than right in the middle of town is actually a big plus because traffic is so busy in town, you save a lot of time being able to walk in rather than navigating the traffic to get out of town to go anywhere. Breakfast is provided - a pastry and fruit and a hot beverage per person (brought to your room). There are lovely grassy areas outside of the rooms to enjoy breakfast and the sunshine.

A fridge would be beneficial, as would a kettle in the room to make tea and coffee.

The room was spacious and perfectly clean. It was well away from the road, which made it quiet. The staff were friendly, outgoing, and supportive. They offered dining suggestions without being asked. I did not try the complimentary breakfast, only because I had plans to meet a friend for breakfast at a bakery in town. The Taber is very close to Mystic Seaport and just a few minutes more to Mystic Aquarium and the other attractions in the immediate area. The Taber is family-owned and operated and has been for more than 50 years. The beautiful condition of the rooms, buildings, and grounds show the pride the family takes in their hotel.

I had a duplex in the building near the tracks and we just loved it. Two adults & a 16 & 18 year old. I felt like it was my own condo. Everything was so clean. I loved have a deck off the bedroom and also on the first floor. 2 1/2 baths so no one was waiting for a bathroom. Beds were super comfy and the shower off the primary bathroom was awesome. Also there was a little yard out front with chairs to relax. Parking right out front. The checkin gentleman was pleasant and took his time to walk us to our room. We will definitely stay again. We loved the indoor pool as well.

Nothing

You don’t have to worry about anything. The continental breakfast was gratis and delivered to us when we called. The beds were comfortable and the room was exceptionally clean. Town houses are available with a refrigerator and microwave if you need more space. There are chairs to sit outside on the deck or lawn. We sat out on the lawn every day. The whole area is quiet, peaceful and relaxing. It is close to everything Mystic has to offer and the owner and staff are friendly and helpful. They have an ice machine and bags of ice are available for coolers at no additional cost. When I’m in this area I will never stay anywhere else. This is a true find.

I don’t necessarily view this as a “negative”, but I think a small refrigerator in the room would be nice.
