From check-in to checkout the staff was friendly and helpful. I don't speak any Portuguese at all and I was either helped by someone that spoke English or they found someone who could help me. All with a minimum of fuss. My personal travel style is to walk about in the neighborhood and find interesting local places to eat. I did that at this location, just walking around until I found a fantastic barbeque place for lunch. I did a little more exploration of the dock areas at the end of the alleys along the waterfront. I also spent a few hours strolling around the Mangal das Garças, just about a hundred yards around the corner. It has manicured gardens, birds, a lighthouse, and a greenhouse coffee shop. The area surrounding the hotel is the old town of Bélem. The hotel is quite different than the surroundings, but I found that interesting, particularly the juxtaposition to th overgrown building next door. I found the area to be safe and friendly during my walks. I took a relaxing soak in the pool before dinner. There are gym and spa facilities I didn't use. I had reviewed the hotel's dinner menu earlier, upon arrival and, that night, treated myself to a wonderfully prepared seafood dinner, sitting under the stars in the central courtyard. My room was large, very clean, and had a fantastic shower. In the morning I took advantage of the breakfast buffet. It offered a variety of choices for different breakfast styles and I found it very good. I Uber'ed from the Bélem airport and returned the same way. The location of the hotel could be useful if you are planning to connect with an upstream boat. The combination of friendly staff and a premium room made the Atrium my best hotel experience in Brazil!

No complaints. This stay was a winner.

Comfortable bed. Nice bathroom hidden in the closet. Of course, that makes the term “water closet” true. It is charming that very few employees speak English. Be sure to download Google Translate BRAZILLIAN Portuguese. Beautiful atrium with nautical artifacts. Great food. Periodic live music at night. Lovely pool area

Not in a tourist area. However, Uber can take you anywhere. Be sure to confirm safety and directions with hotel staff first.

The hotel is perfectly located, close to the Mangal Park and Portal to Amazonia. It is also close enough to several important points in the Old City. It is also close to several good restaurants, and one of the best restaurants in the city is actually in the hotel. The staff are very helpful.

The hotel does not provide free tea or coffee, not even a complimentary bottle of water upon arrival. Being in a historical building has its advantages, but as other buildings around the hotel are not in the best shape, occasional unwanted visitors, like cockroaches, can be encountered in the rooms.

The hotel is in a completely renovated historical building from the 18th century, with rustic decoration themed around the Amazonian navigation and pieces of regional ceramics. Located in Belém's Old Town, the main tourist attractions, such as Forte do Presépio, Mercado Ver-o-Peso and Estação das Docas, are within walking distance. (Avoid walking in the area at night) Very comfortable bed and good shower. Great breakfast, with excellent variety and some fresh regional delights. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

Could have more pillow options and a little more attention with the replacement of bath linen. Small confusion about payment during check-out was easily resolved by the manager.

Facilities were impeccable. Lovely pool area. Comfortable rooms and beautiful surroundings. Breakfast generous. There is a city park a block away with wonderful birds and Amazonian park with great family walks. A small museum and just a relaxing way to mix with families and enjoy nature.

More protein at breakfast? Lots of sweets.

The building is from the Portugese colonial time, The food ( breakfast, lunch and dinner) was varied and really tasty. Next to a great park with birds, reptiles, butterflies, and a restaurant. You can walk to the Harbour with the Ver-o-Peso market. Be prepared, the streets can be smelly and dirty, but people are nice.

Almost everything, location was great, nice restaurant to the hotel. Nice pool, only i didnt use it.

Only problem was a slight language barrier with the staff. I dont speak portuguese but the staff really tried to help me and in the end all worked out fine. Great team guys!

The location was great for getting to know Belém. It was easy to get to most of the main attractions--about a 10 minute walk to the fort and cathedral, for example, and a short Uber ride to the Docks. The building itself, a renovated school, was nicely restored.

Overall, everything was good. I would just maybe suggest some nicer pillows. The ones in our room were very thin.

Lovely hotel with character and good facilities close to gorgeous park with birds and butterflies.

Apart from the park nearby all other sights and good places to eat are a taxi ride away. But for people from Western Europe, taxis are cheap in Belém.

Staff were great and very helpful, even though we did not speak Portuguese. It was easy to get a taxi to any place we wanted to go, and much better than staying in a high rise.

While the old part of the hotel was lovely the new section was pretty ordinary.
