I was very happy with the room, location, and breakfast! You cannot get more central than this in my opinion in Venice. Staff was so friendly and helpful, in English, too. I would definitely stay there again. If you have heavy roller bags, get off at San Marco (flat terrain to hotel), if you can easily move your luggage, Rialto is slightly quicker with bridges/stairs. Staff helped me with my bags up the stairs in the hotel, thank you! Even though it was in a touristy/busy area, my room was very quiet.

Can't think of anything. Maybe some kind of TV upgrade would be nice since all channels were news in other languages it seemed, but I wasn't there to watch TV, so I didn't really care.

VALUE FOR MONEY in Winter. Perfect location, price, right 4 mins away from St mark's basilica and a walk away from every major landmark in Venice. Room much bigger than expected and all amenities we needed. Super clean facilities, daily room service and friendly staff. Organised and respectful.

Odd thing you must return the key every time you go out, and get it back later, but not a problem . We could hear guests downstairs arguing sometimes but nothing to bother. We were on the last floor, no elevator due to historical building probably, so lots of stairs but not a big issue for us we are young and healthy. But if you are in your 60s with knee issues make sure to ask for first floor.

We were out all day so really needed just a base to explore from. This hotel meets that requirement very well, being within very easy walking distance of St Marks and the Rialto Bridge. It is rated 2 star and certainly met our expectations as such - clean, comfortable room and good choice at breakfast. Staff were very friendly, always smiling. As other reviews mention, it is an older building so there is no lift so if you are on a higher floor you need to be prepared for stairs after a long day in town. Breakfast room is on the second floor. The breakfast room is quite small so they do ask you to estimate when you might want breakfast but there is usually space. Usual continental options available for breakfast. The bathroom was small, tucked into the eaves, but perfectly adequate with a small shower. There are no communal areas but there is a small space outside where you can take food (eg takeaway pizza) as they ask you not to take food to the rooms.

Breakfast was just as we expected but the same tinned fruit was served every day - they could have varied it a bit. Also the orange juice was not good. It was extremely sweet and tasted like undiluted fruit squash.

The hotel is well located in the heart of Venice and is just a few feet away from St Mark's Square and a short walk to Rialto Bridge. The staff were very friendly and always available to help. The rooms are very clean and refreshed daily. Toiletries were all replenished each day and come in sustainable packaging. Room was spacious and very comfortable. Some guests may struggle without a lift but the staff are willing to help if needs be.

There was nothing we didn't like about the hotel as such.

The location of Hotel Orion was perfect. Very close to the main square, the Rialto bridge, and all the sites we wanted to see. The view from the window was charming, as it looked onto the street below, and the security was top notch. There was always an employee at the front desk to answer any questions.

The description of the hotel emphasized its air conditioning, but the air conditioning was not strong enough to cool off the room in the heat of summer. We had to turn it VERY low in order for it to even kick on. We weren't allowed to eat anything in the room due to the hotel worrying about attracting ants, which is understandable, but I've never had a hotel make that request before. There are no elevators, so just know that you'll be hauling your luggage up several flights. Not a big deal for us, but good to know.

Fantastic hotel just around corner of St Marks Square. Really friendly staff, go out their way to provide lots of useful local information. Rooms are very clean and bed really comfortable. Breakfast is typical continental, nice start to the day. Great value for money. You won't get cheaper so close to the Square.

There was nothing negative Tip - . In Venice there are mosquitos best keep windows shut. Hotel rooms do have plug in mosquito plugs.

The staff was beyond belief helpful and kind. Always there to support, even when we had to leave to catch the boat to the airport very early in the morning!

Safe too small and would have been lovely to have a standard safe size. Had to carry ipad everywhere which was a bit of a drag. The shower door was broken and wouldn’t close completely and had to always try to compensate for that issue. Bathroom had a strong cleaning odor the entire time. Noisy on the street with people out late at night and as in carnevale season. Neighbors in hotel quite noisy. So some additional sound proofing would be grateful. If possible, a small hot water/coffee maker in room would be lovely

Hotel Orion was a complete surprise! We didn't understand how it could have only 2 stars. Staff with perfect English skills, always smiling and willing to help. Breakfast sufficient, the same as in other hotels (cornflakes, jam, ham, cheese, eggs etc). Excellent coffee and sweet pastries! The room was absolutely sufficient in size, we were extremely satisfied with the cleaning, the equipment was new, everything was functional. We were glad for the room on the 4th floor (we were puffing up the stairs :-)), but the view from the bathroom of St. Mark's Cathedral was breathtaking. The location was also great, 2 minutes walk from St Mark's Square, lots of shops and restaurants around. If we go to Venice again, only to Hotel Orion!

Nothing, everything was super.

Althouth the room was too small and haw no elevator for the 4th floor the hotel was beyond expetations! Very friendly stuff, very clean rooms and because the breakfast has to inform from the previous day the time you have to go was closed for the time we want the stuff offfered us a package to take it late night so to eat in the road to our flight! That was very kind and left us the best impressions! In the center to go everywhere you wanna go in Venice!

The stairs without escalator to the 4th floor but it something that you cannot blaim the hotel!

The hotel is ideally situated in the bustling heart of Venice. Two minutes from San Marco, and 7 minutes from Rialto bridge. The staff were extremely helpful and the hotel was kept to a high standard of cleanliness. Breakfast, whilst the same each day, offered enough variety that you could start each day with something different. The breakfast room is small but beautifully kept and the view over a small square was wonderful. The air conditioning meant that when we returned to our room during the day for a break, we cooled down quickly and slept very well. Towels were replaced each day and everything was clean and tidy.

There was a tiny bit of mould on a pipe in our bathroom near the very high ceiling, and the toilet seat slipped sideways when you sat. And that's all I can say to the negative for the whole place.
