The hotel is by the lake, in between there is only a one-way road and a walking path by the lake. Parking is on the side of the road and it is a little more difficult to see which signs belong to which hotel, because you don't know the surroundings for the first time, it's quite stressful because we arrived at the time of maximum crowding and parking. The hotel reception is on the right side of the hotel and is not well marked, even the entrance from the road or sidewalk to the hotel could be better. Our room had a side view of the lake, the curtains do not darken the room due to the arched windows, the sun shines brightly on the bed early in the morning. The room needs new beds and mattresses and refreshing of the walls, otherwise the bathroom has been renovated. The breakfast is standard, nothing special, the criticism is that practically no dish is covered with a napkin or lid, bread, desserts, fruit, baked eggs, bacon... The bread was not of good quality. The coffee machine was fast, but most of the coffee was very frothy.

A nicer dining room, the plates were not removed from the table for a long time. This dining room only serves breakfast and no lunch or dinner.

Nice location on the boulevard. with only a 10 min walk into the old town they had a parking spot reserved for me on arrival and had a proper breakfast buffet in the morning beautiful view from the balcony The town is a bit touristic, and that reflects always a bit on the hotels, but it surely was a descent price quality ratio and a good place to stay for a night

the room was not very clean and the shower had not much water pressure. The beds could use some new matrasses and they should clean the bed covers that everybody always thorws in a corner after entering the room, because they were surely nog very clean.

The rooms are quite large considering the location which is directly at the promenade. If you want to take a boat tour on the lake there was a reasonable offer about 10m from the hotel. This location of course provides an amazing view of the lake and part of the old city, which however is still about 15 minutes away by foot. The hotel is situated above/part of a restaurant and there are multiple restaurants and stores along the promenade. Parking was surprisingly no problem as the hotel has reserved spots directly in front of it. Inspite of the location when the balcony door was closed, the room was quiet.

Some of the facilities in the room might have seen better days.

Staff were approachable and welcoming on arrival. They also clean your room at some point during your stay and restock the toiletries they provide if needed. The room is incredibly spacious with plenty of places to store all your belongings. The bathroom is also spacious and the floor feels like it is heated, which feels comfortable. Bed was really comfortable aswell. The room I had had a lovely view of the lake, along with a balcony which is nice to chill on early in the morning and later in the day.

I couldn't help but notice several loose strands of hair in the shower when I first used it, along with some in the bed.

Excellent location, just in front of the lake, and my room had a balcony with lake view. The bed was super comfy, and the room was very spacious. Nice bathroom and large walk-in shower. The breakfast is downstairs in the coffee bar, and there are plenty of options.

I stayed there on a Saturday, and the café downstairs had turned into a nightclub, and my room was on the floor above. However, when I put in my earplugs it was quite ok and I was able to sleep through the noise. Be aware of this when you book for a weekend night, or check up front with the owners.

Excellent location, just about 5 minutes walk from main harbour and square. Lovely lake view from my balcony. Excellent sound-proof window (which are very necessary in there!). Friendly and helpful staff. Very good breakfast BUT, if you are a black tea drinker in the morning, please bring your own as they don’t seem to have any available. (I bought some at a local supermarket)

Something easy to solve. My chair in the bedroom made a lot of noise when I pushed it, which probably could be heard on the floor below. If the hotel team puts some tiny pads under the chairs feet, that noise is easily avoided. :)

We had a wonderful stay at the hotel. Rooms were spacious, very clean, bright. Good breakfast, with lots of choices. The location by the lake is superb. Lots of restaurants, shops, sights within easy walking distance. The hotel has a massage therapist that came to the hotel - she was excellent. In addition to all of the above, the very best thing about this hotel is the staff, from the manager to reception. Zoe, at reception is the BEST!!! She helped us with restaurant choices, shuttle reservation- always with a smile. We HIGHLY recommend the property!!!

The hotel is well location on the lake front. It is a short and pleasant walk to the old town centre. The room had a nice balcony with views of the lake and the room was a good size. There was a good breakfast that was included. Was a great base to explore Ohrid from would recommend this as a place to stay if visiting Ohrid.

As the reception was joins to the cafe/bar/restaurant of the hotel it often smelt a bit smoky.

The hotel is excellent, with great facilities and a location right on the quay. However, it was the staff - especially Zorica and Goran- who made our stay exceptional. My father is handicapped and they were extremely helpful and kind, anticipating our needs and jumping in to lend an arm or shoulder as he navigated steps or walked through the restaurant, always with a smile and encouraging word. Thanks to Zodiac and Clean ( as week as Vanya) for all of your help kindness.

City Palace Hotel is just a short walk to everywhere you need to go, the esplanade, Shopping, boat arena to catch boats to Sveti Naum, you can go swimming in the lake right in front of Hotel, The staff were great and did everything to make our stay comfortable, have stayed here before and will stay here again ..
