What was not to like? It is located in the perfect part of town, the historic center. Very beautiful buildings and winding streets, with easy access to important sites and delicious restaurants. The views from the building are amazing, including the roof deck where one takes breakfast and can spend time lounging during the day as desired. The rooms were clean and well designed, along with the building having historic charm. Parking available upon request. The owners were wonderful, and it was great to get to know them. I look forward to recommending Dimora de Matera, and can’t wait to return myself. It truly was a special spot!

For me, it was wonderful. Pending age or comfort, just note there are a good number of stairs.

Breakfast was excellent in quality (healthy, varied), and the ambience (terrace with wonderful views) was superb. The view from our room on an upper floor was lovely. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The terrace with hot tub was a perfect place to relax. The building is old and is being lovingly restored. We took advantage of the private garage and were happy that we had done so.

Hot water in the mornings for showers was sometimes inadequate or nonexistent. We mentioned the situation the first time it occurred but it happened again later in our stay. There is no elevator and the building is on a hill so be prepared for a lot of stairs and to carry your luggage.

Absolutely wonderful property. Very well located in the historic center of Cosenza, and with its own charcter and charm. The hotel is a reformed/being reformeded XVI century building. The rooms are wonderful and very spacious and confortable. Checkin was very easy an the staff very helpful. We only wish we had more time to explore the city and the property.

We could not find how to turn on the heaters in the bathrooms, other than that theres nothing to note.

Beautifully restored palazzo with stylish, clean and comfortable rooms. Giacomo and Michela are very kind and welcoming and made sure we had a wonderful stay. The location in the historic part of Cosenza is fantastic and the breakfast was excellent; one of the best I’ve had in my travels. Michela served a variety of fresh fruits, yogurt, juice, and pastries from a shop around the corner from the hotel. Eggs, meat and cheese were also offered for guests who prefer a more substantial meal. She also makes an excellent cappuccino! We will stay here again if we return to Cosenza.

Vast breakfast prepared by Michela! The building is a magnificent old palace belonging to one of the most important families in Medieval Cosenza; well renovated and comfortable. Easy walk to all of Cosenza's attractions. Amazing views from the terrace. When Michela learned I was visiting as part of a genealogy research project, she went out of her way to help me find local connections. While in the middle of the old city, the well-insulated windows kept out the noise. I never heard noise from other guests. Plenty of hot water.

This is a medieval palace, restored but also converted into the B&B accommodation using modern design and materials. As one expects from Italian design, the conversion blends the modern and historic superbly. The palace has been in the owner's family for generations, and is still family-run. It's location in the historic town is very good, and the extensive new town is linked by bridges, making the whole town very walkable. The rooftop terrace is perfect for breakfast in the sun while looking at the superb views. The breakfast was personally served by the owner's wife to each person's individual request. The whole experience displayed attention to detail throughout, including a pre-arrival message with details of how to avoid the SatNav sending one through some very narrow streets!

Beautifully restored building and run by owners. It’s quite a hike to the room with 4 sets of stairs. Luckily the owner was nice enough to help with our bags and this did not affect our review. Thought we would mention in case someone had mobility issues. Beautiful rooftop patio and hot tub to enjoy the lights of Cosenza at night. Breakfast was excellent with Michela providing a menu to order.

Liked everything the only to mention was our bed, which was super firm.

Such a beautiful old building; completed renovations for converting the upper level into luxury suites are very elegant, tasteful and of a high quality. An incredible entrance to the hotel. Fittings and bed linen were superb and immaculate . Staff were exceptionally welcoming and hospitable with welcome drinks and food provided. A plunge pool on the roof with panoramic views was a lovely bonus. Breakfast provided on the rooftop was delicious; freshly baked food. Well located in the historic part of Cosenza with a good local restaurant nearby and interesting streets to explore. Secure garage park.

The host kindly carried our bag up 5 flights of stairs. That would be the only negative if he was unable to be so helpful.

This family owned, 16th century property perched in the historic part of town was spectacular. Difficult to find, even with google. Interior of venue renovated to modern standards. Very spacious and comfortable. Parking available on site. Breakfast was served on the beautiful rooftop terrace but table service & preparation lacked experience.

Air conditioner was weak & the unit was located behind the blackout drapery, which didn't help. After returning from dining out, it was disappointing not to be able to enjoy a glass of wine on the roof top terrace & soak in the hottub under the stars - access door was locked.

I would like to express my utmost satisfaction with our recent stay at the hotel in Cosenza. The hotel is situated in the historic district of the city and has been completely renovated inside. Its convenient location near tourist attractions and restaurants added to the overall enjoyment of our visit. Everything inside the hotel appears new, remodeled, and beautiful, reflecting the evident care and attention put into its design. Our room was spacious and cozy, providing a comfortable retreat after a long day of exploring. The hotel owners were incredibly attentive and helpful throughout our stay. They went above and beyond by recommending local restaurants and bars, and were always ready to assist us with any requests or inquiries we had. The breakfast served at the hotel was delightful and prepared by the owners themselves. From freshly baked croissants to made-to-order eggs and freshly squeezed orange juice, everything was of the highest quality. I genuinely hope to return to Cosenza in the future and have the opportunity to stay at this hotel once again.
