December 2024

We booked last minute for 2 nights to see Death Valley NP - which is around 40 min drive. It was beginning of Dec, and so great time to see the National Park. The room had 2 queen beds and it was spacious (2nd floor). It had a second sink outside the bathroom. There is an elevator to the second floor, however the elevator is such that you still have 8 to 10 stairs to go to your room (or any room on second floor, I think). The rooms are non smoking but had a strange cleaning agent smell. We had to open the window for an hour to get the smell out / or adjust to the smell. The rooms have small fridge. You have access to microwave in the "convenience store" where you can also buy snacks and drinks. The second night, we had veggie pizza from the restaurant there, which was pretty good. The gas station is right by the property. It is a good place to stay, if visiting the NP and can't find lodging inside the park.

We stayed 2 nights. I had driven 8 hours to reach there in the late evening, and unfortunately between 12;30 AM to 4:40 AM, the smoke alarm kept on beeping loudly more than 7 different times. I couldn't sleep and had a severe headache because of the screeching loud noise all through the night. The next night, the hotel staff, compensated us (after I asked, and they could see I had called 7 different times when the alarm had went off) by giving us free veggie pizza and soft drink. The second night was quiet - thank God.

If you are looking for a standard chain hotel, then Longstreet Inn is not for you. We like places with character, which is why we liked the Longstreet Inn so much. Although centered around a casino, which we weren't interested in, the Inn is full of, and surrounded by, historical memorabilia which gives an interest and charm. The staff were very friendly and helpful and we enjoyed the meal. The shop is open 24 hours with free coffee on tap, the beds were comfortable and although it was a cold night, our rooms remained cosy. Would be a great base to use to explore the Death Valley National Park. Would definitely stay there again.

Nothing.

In general, I liked the hotel. Great value for money. A very atmospheric place, it is a kind of mix of a hotel, a museum and a casino. Like in the movie. It was interesting to see and feel that atmosphere. Comfortable, clean, quiet room. There is a restaurant for breakfast and dinner. I really liked the live music in the restaurant in the evening. Just a great backyard area with a lake and ducks. We are satisfied, interesting experience.

In principle, there are no serious comments or disadvantages

This was a convenient place to stay to visit Death Valley. There are not many hotels nearby and this one was only about a 30 minute drive to Zabriskie Point. There was a restaurant on site (which was decent) which was a good thing because there was nothing else nearby. On the weekend they had live music.

The facilities were dated and the room was showing its age.(though it was clean). In the description it said they had 2 restaurants, but only one was open, so it was the only option for breakfast and dinner.

I'm not a big casino person but I absolutely adored this place. It's much more authentic than Vegas; like time stood still which is a good thing - I wish more places like this existed. With just a short drive from Death Valley it has the perfect location as well. The room was bigger than I imagined, very clean, splendid bathroom and the vanity was a huge plus for me. The staff was super friendly but I of course fell in love with Jackpot the Casino cat. Although we visited mostly everything around there I will make it a life goal to visit this place again one day!

we really enjoyed our stay at longstreet inn. we were looking for a hotel near death valley national park and chose this one and would do it again. the room was maybe even too big for us and maybe a little pricey - but it's in the desert. there is also a gas station, a laundry room, swimming pool and whirlpool for free use. we also had dinner at the hotel. although i am vegetarian, it was absolutely fine. that evening there was a live band playing in the bar that was incredibly good and made our evening.

although the rest of the room was clean, for some reason there was hair on 2 of the pillowcases. we reported this to reception and it was taken care of immediately. the cleanliness of the bed is the most important thing for me in a hotel - but apart from that everything was clean. it must have been specifically due to these two pillowcases

The property was kept up very nice. A lot of unique things to see. Nice little restaurant and casino with a few slots. They even have a minimart.

The rooms are starting to get a little dated and used and there’s a certain smell to them. Maybe the cigarette smoke seeping in from the casino area. Probably the most weird thing was if you’re on the second floor, expect to go up the elevator then walk back down about 8 stairs to get to the rooms?? Very strange. Just ask for the first floor. The front desk women were fantastic and accommodated us without issue.

The room was excellent, very big and comfortable. Restaurant was OK but nothing to shout about. It is a short way from Death Valley and a good price compared to accommodation there. The grounds are nice and there is a good swimming pool. Staff all friendly and helpful.

The casino is just machines no people running tables - that was disappointing. However, if you do use the machines you still can have free drinks! Spend a dollar on blackjack and free drinks - not bad! The hotel is quite isolated and there's not a lot around there. But OK for an overnight stay.

Loved the quirky, funky sculptures all around and inside the facility. I really enjoyed sipping the free tea in the morning while sitting on the gazebo by the pond, watching the sun shine on the mountain range. It was sweet that they are a pet friendly facility, too. I was also able to add people to my original booking and an additional foldable bed for a very low fee.

Appreciated that it was a cannabis-free zone but would have liked it to be smoke free, too. (Our room was smoke free but the common areas are not.)

Probably the most quirky stop on our couple of weeks long trip. A strange oasis in the middle of the desert, with pond, ducks, geese, a chapel and some rather entertaining statues powered historical revival scenes. We were greeted with the pleasant surprise of a live singer performance on the day we arrived, and could enjoy the fun décor pieces all of which having their place in a museum. The place has a small shop with all the essentials as well. The staff was kind and the time there was pleasant all around.
