We booked Giuggiulena on the basis of all the positive reviews and we were not disappointed. The owners, Sabrina and Claudia were lovely, very helpful and accommodating. The rooms are large, with balconies that gave stunning views across the sea. Breakfasts are superb, with lots of variety to cater to all tastes. We took advantage of Sabrina and Claudia’s offer to cook a late lunch for us which was delicious. The hotel has its own entrance to the sea where you can swim from the rocks in the crystal-clear waters. We’d recommend Giuggiulena to our friends without any hesitation.

Some may see the 25-minute walk to restaurants in Ortigia as a negative, but it’s an easy walk down and if you don’t fancy the walk back there’s a cheap and reliable bus service that drops you off almost at the front door of the hotel.

We chose this place for its breathtaking waterfront location. Waking up to the sunrise and the sound of ocean waves from our room was a true highlight, and hearing the soothing sea sounds as we opened the door was magical. Enjoying breakfast on the balcony each morning felt like a dream come true. We also loved the direct water access and the convenience of the provided water shoes. Both hosts were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Just a heads-up: parking is available in a garage for an extra daily fee.

The walk to Ortigia takes about 30 minutes. It takes around 20 minutes to reach the bridge, but you’ll need to walk further into town to get to the restaurants. My sister and I didn’t mind the walk, but it's worth noting, especially on very hot days.

Everything was wonderful! The location overlooking the sea, watching its waves and tides of every shade of blue. Having a private terrace to it all, falling asleep to the sound of the sea. Eating a delicious homemade breakfast - salty and sweet - out on the breakfast room terrace( blueberry ricotta cheese cake and lemon bread were my favorites, along with the fresh fruit, including melon). Sun terrace on the roof with chaise lounges, tables and chairs, and an honor bar. You can snorkel right from the bottom of the b&b- water shoes, masks and fins available- or just swim or float. And a lift to all floors except the roof. Parking for a small fee right across the street. But best of all were the hosts, Claudia and Sabrina. They are kind, helpful, charming - all you could ask for and more. Even before we booked, we had questions and the responses were detailed and informative. If you are reading this, you have found a hidden gem in Sicily: Giuggiulena!

Nothing- great as is.

There are so many things to tell you about Giuggiulena! First of all Sabrina was amazing ! We felt like we were in her house since we arrived! The feeling when you enter in the hotel is fantastic ! You feel like you arrived in heaven ! Everything around is blue and green, smells everywhere like sea, and the sound of sea is so soo relaxing !!! You go to sleep hearing the sea, it's speechless ! also we had the lunch there and the food was really homie, amazing taste?? Autentic Sicilian cuisine! I think this was the best hotel we were ever !!

EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT !!!

A delightful B&B/hotel run by the irrepressible Sabrina. Great view from our room (whose bed included the option of memory foam pillows - yay!) and you couldn't get much closer to the ocean, which you can enter via steps on the lowest floor. Water was warm in June and while the underwater fauna isn't great, it's an easy swim to the caves along the coast (watch out for boats though, as there's a constant stream of tourist rip-off trips visiting them). There's a garage if your hire car is small enough (e.g. a VW Golf). We'd certainly stay there again if we return to Sicily. P.S. The 2 coastal pictures are looking North and South from the excellent roof terrace.

We weren't bothered by this, but it's around a 20 minute walk (downhill - 30 min back) to the Ortigia tourist traps. For us that was actually a benefit!

Everything was perfect! We booked the superior room and the view from the balcony was extraordinary! The room was very clean and lovely decorated and bed was comfortable. You can borrow shoes to go swimming, which is possible right in front of the facility. Breakfast on the terrace was amazing! Fresh fruits, delicious cakes and typical Sicilian specialties. I can only recommend to book a room here - it is a 20 min walk to Ortigia but it is definitely worth it! :-) The owner, Claudia, is super friendly and made us feel welcome, thank you!

Everything Perfect!

This place is beautiful!!! It’s located in a fairly quiet area right on a cliff overlooking the Mediterranean. We were able to snorkel right below our room. The view is breathtaking at every moment of the day. The staff and owners are incredibly friendly and helpful - they go out of their way to help out. They felt like family. The beds and pillows were comfortable. We heard the ocean crashing all night, which was so peaceful. We had access to our own terrace and there was a little kitchen we could use on the days we didn’t want to go out to eat.

This little haven was a wonderful retreat from the heat of Siracusa town. Nestled on the rocks, it allowed you to enjoy the cool breeze from the ocean or sun yourself on the balcony and swim in the rock pools. But what made it the best was the hosts, the wonderful Sabrina and Claudia; they welcomed us like family, fed us like kings (and queens), goodness the breakfast table was a thing of Italian beauty. They helped us with a car parking issue like we were their friends and we much enjoyed chatting to them and hearing their stories. Thank you Sabrina and Claudia ❤️

Cannot think of anything.

The room, which had unobstructed views of the sea, was very spacious, quiet and clean. The property had easy and direct access to the sea where we could swim and snorkel around the reefs. There was a huge variety of fish that we could observe in the water. it was great that the property provided beach towels, masks, snorkels and reef shoes for the sea swimming. The breakfast was more than adequate for our needs with a variety of foods offered

If you wanted to dine in town, It was a good 25 minute walk to the restaurants near Ortigia island

The perfect stay! Sabrina and Claudia are just charming and do everything to make their guests comfortable and welcome. The room was large, spotlessly clean and the balcony looked over the private swimming area. It had a spacious and powerful shower. Wonderful breakfasts and delicious dinners on request. We loved every minute! Nicest place we have stayed in. I understand why guests return year after year. Will certainly stay again.
