This is a first-class hotel and very good value for money - much cheaper than most Paradores. The food is really good: you can tell this because it's used by a lot of locals. Breakfast was excellent - good buffet with hot food cooked to order. We have stayed here a couple of time before as it is literally less than 2 minutes from the motorway with easy free parking which makes it a great stop when we travel to or from the Santander ferry.

The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The bathroom was large and clean. Nice balcony overlooking the garden and pool. Plenty of private parking. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

We were told we needed to book for breakfast as "the hotel is fully booked". We did so and were told the restaurant opened at 8pm for our evening meal. However when we went to the restaurant at that hour we were told the restaurant would be open at 8.30 pm! We went to the snack bar instead. This was understaffed. The staff on duty were rushing around doing their very best to satisfy their customers. They did a great job. Breakfast was not fully subscribed and made a mockery of having to book to ensure a place! The final absurdity was having breakfast cereals on the buffet but no milk! This had to be requested.....

We stopped here en route through Spain for an overnight stop. The room was very nice with a small balcony. Bed was comfortable and the room was lovely and clean and welcoming. Good bathroom. The breakfast choice was very good and dinner was also good. The lunch menu in the bar was very restricted though. The swimming pool was a very welcome feature and towels were provided.

Nothing. It was all great for what we needed.

Because of time constraints we we unable to take breakfast as we had a connection to make. Room was of a good size with slightly noisy air conditioning: Bath shower good standard with separate WC. Everything was immaculately clean Our room had a small balcony overlooking the garden and pool and, the balcony, had a small table and two chairs to sit in the evening.

Lack of tea/ coffee making facility in room. Slightly unusual lighting set up, lots of switches but some counter acted the others, must be a logic to it but did not stay long enough to work it out.

It's quite a few years since our last stay here. The hotel is very convenient to the motorway and has a lovely grandeur about it. Very comfortable room (with no road noise). Lovely courtyard setting for a drink. Choices of bar or restaurant dining. The restaurant dining was 'fine dining' at a reasonable price. Superb staff, both at reception and in the restaurant.

Totally satisfied

I like the old world charm. The staff were very friendly and I felt at home and for me that's important. I prefer the cafe to the dining room and that is mostly because the dining room feels a little souless.

The worst thing that I can say is that the parking spaces are a little cramped and of course that is pretty trivial.

I liked the general 'atmosphere' of the hotel which was bit 'colonial'. I liked the unrushed approach which made life relaxed and easy. I also liked the easy parking. I liked the quality of the food in the dining room.

I didn't like the cold atmosphere of the dining room - partly due to the fact that it was largely empty in the evening. I also didn't like one of the server's almost off-hand attitude.

Always wanted to stay at a Parador, and despite this being in the middle of nowhere, it didn't disappoint. Ideally located next to a secure truck parking area (we were delivering 2 x Motorhome artics to Portimao from Spa) it meant the trucks were secure, and we could relax, big plus for us. A little spartan but with lovely touches, wide corridors, thick carpets, lovely big rooms with a bath (Thankyou!) and bidet :). And a balcony, if only we had more time. Staff were fantastic, food was great, but the restaurant staff could be a little rude. Maybe it was because our Spanish was terrible. But all in all, highly recomended.

Very clean place. Plenty of free parking, comfy beds, mini fridge all set in a historical Spanish setting. WIfi was strong and able to stream. There was a little noise from the interstate but nothing that kept us awake with the window open.

The towel warmer in the bathroom couldn't be shut off. Not sure if this is good or bad.

Didn't use the dining room this time but ate in the cafeteria. The atmosphere is more informal and the staff very friendly.

As there was a Sunday communion party at the hotel, parking was quite difficult
