Very central and nice property. Restaurant on the property was convenient though definitely pricey. The triple room was very big and spacious. The double was a bit tight. The front desk staff was fantastic and helpful, especially Maria who was just lovely! She called us by request when you could see the northern lights and we had an amazing view of it from the hill behind the hotel!
Double room was a bit tight and bed was a little too hard but nothing that would have made it a deal breaker. Definitely one of the pricier stays we had while in Iceland though.

This was the first Fosshotel we stayed at on our trip preferring to stay at smaller boutiques places most of the time. So this is a big modern hotel and has the relevant amenities. Plenty fo parking at the front of the hotel. The rooms are large and well appointed - we had a sitting area with a good tv and plenty of room. The bathroom was also a very good size with good amenities and plenty of towels. Bed and bedding were very comfortable and there is plenty of wardrobe storage. Brekky was included and was very good - plenty of options and a pleasant dining room.
From the parking area we had to lug our bags up about 8 steps - not sure if there was another way to get your bags inside - you are pretty exposed to the elements although pretty normal in Iceland.

Breakfast was very good; I liked the proximity to town as we could easily walk to dinner. The hotel was sparkling clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful with suggestions of things to see and restaurants for lunch. Of especial note in Stykkishólmur, is Sjavapakkhusið. They specialize in seafood and it is awesome. We had mussels, fresh from Patreksfjörður; they were delicious!
I can't think of anything at all that was displeasing.

The restaurant food was excellent
Given the price it was disappointing not to have a daily room refresh. Maybe this was not understood when I checked in as I believed the question related to clean towels only! The shower hose was a disaster, very inflexible with a mind of its own. I had a similar one once and changed it immediately. The water from the shower was not retained in the cubicle very well resulting in a wet bathroom floor.

It was easy to find and park. The staff went beyond expectations and the chef agreed to make dinner even though the restaurant was technically closed (we arrived right after closing time). Very clean and the essentials were all there.
The lighting in the room was not well thought out and inconvenient for two guests sharing the room as there was no way to individually control the lighting on left and right side of room where the beds were placed.

They provided a good breakfast buffet. The room was clean, comfortable and roomy. We had a sofa. We were able to see the Northern Lights from the hotel. Plenty of free parking. The location was near the ferry and easy drives to places on the peninsula.
The restaurant served good food for dinner, but it was a little pricey.

The location is great. The hotel on the hilltop provides a complete view of the town below. The staff was very attentive to our needs.
The hotel seemed old and worn. While the carpets were just recently cleaned, the detergent smell was very strong on some floors. However, the staff quickly provided a different room, and we feel sure that all will be well for the next visitors.

Great hotel! I was surprised with the newness of the Fosshotel! Everything was very modern and very clean! The accommodated our request of two rooms near each other. Beds were very comfortable. Hotel was incredibly close everything so it made walking around very easy.
Not too much..I didn't love the breakfast buffet, but it was adequate.

Clean, beautiful room with excellent ensuite bathroom. TV had English language channels. Had the best free toiletries of our trip. Very close proximity to groceries as well as an in house restaurant.
The lights around the property will make it tricky to view auroras if you are lucky enough to have activity at night.

All the positive aspects of luxury hotels. Modern, clean, comfort, etc. Very good dinner. Exceptional breakfast.
We have travelled Iceland for a month. This is the *only* hotel where we were asked to fill in an identity form and give a credit card imprint. After dinner although we were asked the room number the waitress chased us because she wanted us to pay immediately. Not to mention expensive prices not even including breakfast.
