We were in a larger room in the Briarlea house which is a short walk from the main hotel. The room was quite spacious and comfortable. Very clean! Additionally we ate both breakfast and dinner at the hotel and it was lovely. Excellent options and very attentive staff.
Parking was not really an issue for us near Briarlea house however, near the main hotel is busier. It was very cold and wet on our walk to dinner from the Briarlea house, but not something that may effect every trip just to be aware!

The team! Amazing people lead by an amazing manager. Nothing was too much trouble, they work hard to accommodate you, and they are truly passionate about your experience. Special shout to Sophie, Josh and Ben! The location. Bowmore is central Islay and a superb base for exploring. The hotel bar/restaurant area overlooks the loch. The hotel is clean and contemporary with finishes giving a respectful nod to the distillery industry, and it boasts an amazing bar with a fabulous and extensive selection of beers and whiskys!
I raise these points because of the passion of the manager and team. We had a very enjoyable stay, but, I know you want to be the best! So I hope these points help you to get there. Room - we stayed in room 11. Simple thing, the ensuite bathroom needs a towel rail! My mattress was a little firm. Food - Overall it's a great venue and food is of a very good standard. Breakfast quality was fabulous every day but the food service was inconsistent, eg two sausages one day, one the next day, pastries one day, none the next etc, and I had ONE disappointing evening meal of rubbery, caramelised, scallops. Drinks - the mark up applied to the premium wine and whisky is not always suitable for those travelling on a modest budget.

The place was really nice and clean with good facilities. I had the Ardbeg room with separate bathroom, but the bathroom was huge and modern - great shower pressure. Niall was a great host and his breakfasts are huge!! So bring an appetite.
The mattress was a little too firm, and short for me (at a bit over 6ft) but manageable.

Lovely little room. Blockout curtains, very comfortable bed and pillows, relatively quiet. Nice to be on the Loch with a view from the window. The staff were lovely.
Breakfast was ok. Coffee was not amazing. No free movie channel. Also room was supplied with only one towel for shower, which I’m sure was just an oversight. Check is quite late which might bother some.

Very nice room, great beds and wonderful showers. We appreciated the warm welcome with hot chocolate and tea for Self-catering in the room. The Service was very nice. Although we had to walk some minutes to the Main hotel for breakfast we highly enjoyed our stay. Extraordinary Whisky on offer. Ask for the Whisky bible.

Staff were friendly and the food was plentiful. Location was central to Islay and I was able to use the local buses.
I had a street view of an Indian restaurant and a very small room which was difficult as an international traveller. There was nowhere to sit and use my laptop except on the bed. I had to work in the dining room or the public bar to get a work surface.

Very large room with good Sea view. Breakfast good but not always a full menu, the evening menu was very good with lots of seafood available. The Hotel is central and well placed for other attractions on the Island.
Lack of comfortable seating in the bar area. Parking is a problem as Hotel is on the main street which is busy and near by parking area is often full.

the food served here is really top notch; don't care if it a Michelin star, probably not, but it really was fantastically good; a bonus is the glorious view across the Loch, from the dining room.
Rooms are small, a squeeze if you'd brought a lot of luggage (we hadn't). My usual complaint: nothing to hold onto getting into or out of the shower; nowhere in shower to put your own toiletries.

On the very edge of Europe, with only America to the west. Cosy, friendly and well fed was I. Charming wee place Bowmore. Good banter with the Hotelier and excellent Whisky advice.
I could have done with more sun! But if that's the case I should have gone to Ibiffa!

Nice room, great location good staff.
The only issue was eating in the restaurant - the food was lovely but the plates were cold. Fish and chips another night with stone cold peas. Oh and I ordered a lemon cheesecake only to be served a berry cheesecake with no explanation.
