Easy to find. A manned reception even though we arrived early. Receptionist was very helpful and spoke some English. Clean and in good condition with a decent sized room which is a necessity when you travel with dogs. Fairly decent breakfast for the money. Suitable areas nearby for walking the dogs . Brilliant restaurant just opposite. TV had a couple of BBC channels in English. Asked for a ground floor room because we have two large dogs and they provided one.

No facility in the room to make a hot drink, It is all very well to have automatic dispensers in reception but they are not always convenient and they had nothing that met my requirements. When you arrive hot and tired you want a nice cup of tea, not a shot of espresso. Although I said the breakfast was decent, that did not extend to the cheese offered. As it is in an area famous for its cheese I expected a choice of some good stuff but they only offered some rubbery tasteless lump that was very disappointing. Ground floor rooms don't have a security catch enabling you to leave them open to get some air in. If it was a turn and tilt, I could find any evidence of how it worked.

ACE hotels seem quite consistent in being clean and comfy and a little less cramped than B+B or Ibis Budget in my experience. The one in RIOM is conveniently located near a restaurant (Zinc) in the same complex but book ahead as the restaurant is always busy due to six budget hotels around it. Hotel location is quiet (no road noise) with some greenery space around it.

Ace hotels are generally of a good standard and good value for money - although we noticed this year the price has crept up quite a bit. We have stayed at this hotel several times before en route to/from Spain, so we knew what to expect and were not disappointed. Clean room, comfy bed, secure parking - perfect for an overnight stop. There is also a good choice of places to eat around this hotel, including an all-you-can-eat Chinese buffet next door which is excellent value for money.

Nothing - everything was fine as usual.

extra charges for the dog (I would never understand why dogs are charged while kids aren’t…); the bathroom needs a serious refresh (unpleasant smell from the toilet, black spots in the shower, shower head holder unusable). but all in all it’s more than ok for a budget hotel

We have stayed in this hotel before. Good location, away from main roads, but close enough to visit Riom. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The staff very friendly and helpful. Good breakfast.

Room well prepared and clean . Good mattress and bedding. Clear information about the area and what available in the hotel and surrounding area . Receptionist pleasant and helpful

Clean, comfortable, and perfect stop to stay overnight with our cat. The staff were helpful and friendly. We have stayed in Ace hotels on previous occasions and would do so again.

Basic but clean and in good order, staff friendly and with good English, breakfast a little basic but did the job. Location is handy, just off the peage, if you're heading north/south. Several eateries within a short walk too.

Nothing worth mentioning

The room was comfortable and big enough for 4 people. It was quiet as well.

The late check-out costs 30 EUR which I think is quite expensive so nobody requested it in the end. But it is a hotel policy.

This is a regular overnight stop for us so we are generally very happy with Ace Riom

The shower tiling had much more black mould than usual in the room we were allocated. It needs to be sorted.
