The location was amazing, the room was cozy and satisfied the need for some authenticity. Although an old property, the room and the bathroom have been very clearly renovated with a lot of care for detail. The bathroom was new clean and somewhat spacious for a European option. The breakfast was great! Decent amount of option for every ones taste preferences. Also enjoyed the dinner and the portions are massive and tasted great, very good value for the price! There were goats! They were very cute!
Since the building was old, although renovated, the creaky floors and sounds from upstairs neighbours is unavoidable. That being said, it may be a bit more noisy during the day, but night time was not a problem.

Very charming rooms behind the by-the-road restaurant, all Norwegians know this place. It has a big shop with candles, local food, decorations and mountain wear. You can spend hours there. Breakfast boufet has a nice choice of sweet and savoury. You can eat very well. The restaurant menu was OK, but nothing extraordinary. Kids appreciated the goats and the mill in the hotel area. Clean rooms and comfy beds. Close to magma Park and various nice trails. You can hear the nearby stream through the window.
Rooms could be bigger, but we managed to open our suitcases in the spacious bathroom (floor heated).

This hotel is right next to fast flowing stream that you can hear from your bedroom window - the sound of this whilst sleeping was amazing. The restuarant was the highlight of staying here, with the staff being very friendly and the food being very tasty. Bathroom had a heated floor and a nice shower - great for warming up after being drenched by the Norwegian rain.
Being on a bike, this place was nestled at the end of a route that passed through the mountains - whilst I was only 3km away from the hotel, the road was shut so had to make a 70km detour! Be careful of this - especially when it is raining hard and you want to get to your destination! The room was very small with the twin bed seemingly small too.

For being a somewhat random roadside stop in the mountains, this was a very nice place! The renovation of the buildings fairly recently is surprisingly high quality. We had a very substantial (and tasty) dinner in the evening before heading off on a hike in the surrounding mountains. The hike was stunning! The breakfast buffet in the morning was expansive and delicious. The beds were very comfortable with 100% cotton linens and (maybe?) real feather duvets. The family room was set up with two double bed alcoves which were cozy and a nice unique touch. Everything was very clean. We would recommend it as a comfortable place to stay in the area.
The family room could have had a small couch or upholstered chairs. The gift shop is rather bizarre!

The place itself has a very authentic atmosphere, and it does not feel like staying in a standard hotel or holiday house. The beds were soft and comfy and the bathroom had heated floor which made showering after a long day feel like a treatment. There are 2 charging stations with either 50kw or 22kw, good for overnight charging. These are not free anymore and as of June 2023 the price for 22kw charging is 6.99NOK per kwh.
We booked a standard room with a queen bed that was supposed to be 18m2. We got a small room of no more than 10m2 with a pitched ceiling that on booking.com was offered for a cheaper price. The breakfast had a really poor choice of food but was good enough. The filtered coffee was very bad as well, if you like good coffee, you will not get it here.

This was the second time my family and I stayed at Byrkjedalstunet Hotell. We knew what to expect. It is 30m minutes drive from Sirdal Ski Resort. It has a calm and bucolic atmosphere, surrounded by the mountains. The restaurant and bakery are very famous in the are as well as the Norwegian goods store, attached to the hotel. People travell from Stavanger to shopping there or to eat. During the breakfast the chef gave a piece of chocolate cake for my daughter, that usually is not available for guests but can be buy when the restaurant is open.
The beds were uncomfortable. This was the second time we stay there and in the first time they gave us a big room, this time we stayed in a small room that it is ok for 2 persons, but not for a family of four.

Attached to a restaurant with included breakfast; and a great place for dinner. Very picturesque with historic vibes and even had a little goat farm. It was fun to watch the goats climb on rocks and eat the grass off the roof. There’s a huge gift shop and winter gear shop next door to wander through.
Rooms were a little on the smaller side. Pillows were very flat. No air conditioning

It was one of our favourite stays in Norway. The family room that we stayed in was a bit small for a family of four, but for a couple of nights, it wasn’t a problem. The place has a lot of history and character . There is also a great bakery and restaurant on site, super friendly staff.

We were eager to stay here after seeing the pictures of the animals on site. We had a coupld of goats right outside our bedroom window. They were kind enough not to wake us too early :-) Had a nice dinner in the restaurant and the buffet was nice as well. Nice shop too.

Very cute, old world Norway 🇳🇴 😍 dairy farm converted into a comfortable hotel complex. There are not many other choices around here but this place is worth the stop. The buildings are remarkable and the souvenir/candle store is amazing 👏 . The restaurant served up a quality dinner very quickly and the breakfast buffet was outstanding with all you can ask for. 😋 Our room was very very comfortable and warm with heated floors in the bathroom. We even had goats and a small stream, right outside our bathroom. Highly recommended 👌
Everything was great 👍 👌 😌
