We have been to Goathland many times over the years but have never stayed. As it was our wedding anniversary we booked for the bank holiday weekend to stay at Mill Croft, situated on a private road near to pubs, shops and tea rooms. It was amazing. We were welcomed by Gill and Dave into their beautiful home. The house is just gorgeous and immaculately clean. Our room was so fresh and smelt so nice, the towels smelt heavenly and so fluffy. The refreshment tray in the room full with plenty of choice. And even a torch for finding you way back from the pub when it was dark. Gill’s breakfast was so nice and tasty it set us up for the day. Gill and Dave are just the most loveliest of people and easy to chat and get along with, they are doing a fantastic job and we will definitely be returning for another stay soon.

From the moment we arrived, our hosts, Gill and Dave, made us feel like part of their extended family. Their genuine warmth and attention to detail were evident in every aspect of our stay. The rooms were impeccably clean, beautifully decorated, and equipped with all the modern amenities. They provided excellent recommendations for local hikes, attractions, and dining spots, ensuring we made the most of our time in Goathland. If you’re looking for a place that feels like a home away from home in the heart of Goathland, look no further. We can’t wait to return! ☺️

An enjoyable stay at Mill Croft. Excellent breakfast; room well-stocked with tea, coffee, biscuits. Short walk to the station and the Rail Trail to Grosmont. Parking easy. Gill, the host could not have been more helpful. We will stay again.

Room was adequate, comfortable but we would have preferred something slighter bigger. We will book early and ask for one of the larger rooms next time.

The breakfast was lovely food was excellent quality and well cooked. Fruit and fruit juice excellent and a good choice of cereals. The location was good although a small village it was a few minutes walk to a good restaurant for dinner and 10 minute walk to the railway. also a good place to stay and explore the area by car. Gill was very friendly and helpful we had some lovely chats!

Well where do we start this accommodation is so outstanding and would highly recommend it as a main base for an extended stay or just one or two days one would not be disappointed children and doggy chums are more than well received here. Centre of the loveliest area of the Yorkshire Moors set in Heartbeat country. Hosts so welcoming and genuinely most sincere. Made to feel at home immediately on our arrival. Close to the amenities and Goathland NYMR station for the heritage rail buffs. The breakfast served by Gill is so unbeatable for providing the finest of locally sourced ingredients and just such fantastic fayre.

Only a minor issue we would've liked a wider bed but not a problem we were able to cuddle up more.

The breakfast was superb, cooked to perfection, and lots of choice. The location of the property is very good because it is just a nice distance from the main road but still close to all the facilities.

I can’t say anything negative about this B & B. The road that it is located on is private, it does have a lot of potholes but this was not a problem for us.

The rooms were spotless, the breakfast was amazing and the hosts Jill and Dave were fantastic. They couldn't do enough for us, nothing was too much trouble. We wished we could have stayed longer! We will definitely return to this very welcoming B and B. Thank you both so much.

Absolutely brilliant 2 night stay - for 2 couples visiting on annual NYMR pullman dining train. Fantastic location - central position close to Goathland Station, shops and rail trail. Spotlessly clean accommodation - immaculate. Delicious breakfast. Gill and Dave are just lovely 😍 - the kindest and friendliest hosts, which made our stay very special ( Mum and Dad loved it). It was just like staying with your favourite family members. Can't wait to return again.

Room very clean, tea and coffee provided and topped up regularly, great breakfast that could be changed to individual requirement. Very welcoming hosts that knew the area and could recommend places to eat and visit locally. Good location with short walk to the village or the NYM Railway.

Gill keeps a very clean establishment and her welcome was excellent, easily the best one of our trip...lots of information and very pleasent. She is very out-going. Excellent suggestion to visit Straith on the coast...GPS found a road with a stream that had to be forded. While we found the bed on the small side it was comfortable. Breakfasts were first class and cooked to order. Tea, coffee etc in room re-stocked daily.

Visitors should be aware that while the room is nice it was on the small side and the bed was a true double (54in) mattress; to be fair it was advertised as a double, not a queen (queen bed would have been a very tight fit into the room.) Nightside table was right against the bed...edges a bit sharp. Lights on the bedside table were touch sensitive...turned it on twice first night while sleeping - moved it the 2nd night!
