Remembering that this hotel is in a small town on Leyte and pretty isolated, we had a good stay. It was by far the best property in the area. Room had good ac and they had a back-up generator that kicked in when the power went out. Staff very helpful and they had good parking right across the street. We arrived late, around 11 pm and the security guy quickly directed us to parking and helped with our bags. Could watch Netflix and other on-demand in the room and there was a mini-frig/freezer. Bed was comfortable and seemed clean.

The bathroom was “wet”, so showering gets the toilet all wet and the floor remained wet pretty much our entire stay, which was annoying. The food was average, multiple items on the menu were not available, and the food took way too long to arrive considering we were the only patrons.

Bed was super comfy. Staff awesome. Air con great. Parking very easy. Hot water perfect. Balcony nice touch.

The wifi was inconsistent or nonexistent. Most likely due to provider failing. The bathroom is a combo toilet and shower. Limited space, so understandable. Also,, no elevator.

The room is clean ! And it's comfy I slept very well . And staffs are the nicest ! Will definitely stay again ☺ Thank you !

No elevator , although this is only mid rise few steps wont hurt naman. Some noises from the trikes since this is roadside ☺ but again you'll be fine ☺

The internet often did not work inside the room but there was a comfortable chair to sit out side the room for the internet.

The room was perfect with a breathtaking view of the mountains and the staff were friendly and professional.

No A/C outside the rooms but still a pleasant stay.

The GMB Arte Hotel, “by Hilton”, is located about 2.5 hours south of Tacloban City and is accessed by a highway consisting of many hairpin turns and switchbacks that meanders through the picturesque Southern Leyte mountains and through many small villages and towns. The road, in some places can be treacherous but is undeniably a beautiful drive through the islands rainforests. GMB Arte is arguably the best hotel in the Sogod municipality. The rooms are clean, well maintained, functional but not necessarily spacious. The “by Hilton” part is sort of a joke. It is not part of the Hilton Hotel Chain, the person who owns the hotel is named Hilton. The hotel has a nice dining room, on the second floor, featuring, a good menu of mostly American dishes but with a few Filipino touches that may not appeal to everyone. The dining area is small, clean and well appointed. There is also a snack bar on the ground floor where one can purchase snacks and drinks to consume inside the stack bar or at one of many tables outside. I found the entire hotel staff to be helpful and courteous and everyone speaks english. However, for three days during my six day stay, there was no cook on duty and I had to look elsewhere for my meals. Besides Jollibee, a Filipino fast food franchise, I was not able to find an eating establishment that was clean and served the kinds of food I am accustomed to. There are a couple of nice restaurants in town and I was lucky enough to find the Caasa Aroma restaurant about a 15 minute tricycle ride from the hotel.

There is a church across the street from the hotel they ring the church bells at all hours of the day and night starting at about 4:00 am which is when I first heard them when they work me up from a sound sleep. This was the biggest negative about the Hotel The hotel is 4 stories high but there is no elevator. There are staff members available to carry your bags to your room but especially for older people the daily climb up and down the stairs can be an disincentive for staying there For three days during my six day stay, there was no cook on duty and I had to look elsewhere for my meals.

Very clean and facilities are okay

Room not to big for the room rate. No slippers provided. Very noisy due to the location of the catholic church. I'm always disturbed every 4:00 am due to the church services . It's a bit pricey and breakfast not included. It's not ideal for the senior to book this hotel since there is no elevator and all rooms are located in the third floor. The food in the restaurant are delicious but a bit expensive. I was with my mum not realising that if you book in booking . Com there is no discount for the seniors. It's better to book directly from the hotel.
