Evelyne and Pascal are the perfect hosts. They enjoy people and love sharing their home, city and history. They have created a heavenly retreat for travelers. We arrived by bicycle - and they are only a few blocks from the train station. It is an easy walk to anyplace in the town - and Evelyne helped us with suggestions for what to see and do - and eat. Our room and bath was spacious with attention to every detail. Good bed, chairs, kettle and tea, lots of storage, great shower. We ate dinner cooked by Pascal that was superb, in the quiet of the garden. If you’re going to Cognac (and you should!) Suite en Terrasse by Evelyne and Pascal is a must.

By far the warmest welcome we received on our trip through France. As well as a comprehensive tour of the property Evelyne provided a map of the town, a detailed verbal summary of places of interest and potted histories. Add to this a lovely terrace to sit and relax outdoors and excellent breakfast and you can understand why we would not hesitate in staying here again.

Car parking could be an issue depending on time of day.

This is a place where your every comfort is considered and taken care of, by warm and friendly hosts who have expert knowledge of the area and Cognac. Beautiful room and en suite complemented by a lovely terrace garden and kitchen area for you to use. This has sun and shade and is excellent for relaxing after a day of exploration. Delicious breakfast. Perfectly located for the train station and a short walk to the lovely old town and its attractions. Cognac is also a very good base from which to visit the breathtaking Charente countryside which you should not miss!

Evelyn and Pasquale are the perfect hosts. We were travelling to a wedding near St Emilion and they let’s us hang our suits and bags in their garage, so they were safe. Our room and bathroom were lovely and spotlessly clean. There are a couple of other rooms and you have access to a lovely rooftop terrace and kitchen, so you have somewhere nice to relax if you don’t want to go out. The breakfast was really lovely made with local produce. We loved Cognac and Evelyn and Pasquale and would go back to stay in a heartbeat. it’s about a twenty minute walk into town. On the way check out the Indigo Bar at the Martell factory, it’s rooftop terrace gives fabulous views of Cognac. The Garage is well worth a visit too, it’s very lively serving simple food. Evelyne is a wealth of information who goes above, and beyond with her customers to make sure that they have an excellent experience. She does an excellent job in managing this property, and making people feel at home. I had a specific purpose in traveling to Cognac, and that was to go to a particular restaurant that was a little way out of town. Instead of leaving me to my own devices, Evelyne offered to take me along with a couple to do some sightseeing around town, and offered to drive me to the restaurant herself! That day ended up being one of top highlights of my 17 days in France, and one that I will not soon forget. If you get the chance to travel to Cognac, stay here!

Our hosts Evelyne and Pascale were kind, wonderful people! Evelyne shared her in-depth knowledge about the city of Cognac and showed us key sites on a city map for us to explore during the short time we were there. We enjoyed our conversations with them. We had booked a home-cooked dinner and Pascale made a gourmet meal with appetizer, main course, wine and desert. Evelyne introduced us to a cocktail using a local liquor. The accommodation was within walking distance of the city. It was clean and nice, with a good-sized modern private bathroom. Breakfast was very good.

Rooms spacious and lovely decorated, beds comfortable. Evening meals are highly recommended and served in a distinctive setting. All meals are freshly prepared with local products. Terrace on the roof with own kitchen for guests. Lots of useful information and suggestions what to see and discover in the region. Free parking in the street, very quiet.

Evelyne & Pascal were such wormhearted hosts. They looked after me like mom and dad. It was very easy to feel like home. The breakfast was made with love from local products. Pascal cooked one evening a French meal which was very dedicious. It is well located and very quite. Within walking distance yo can get to the center of Cognac where you can finde lovely Restaurands and bars. Or spend an evening on the roof terrace. I can warmly recomend to stay with Evelyn & Pascal.

This is such a find. A really beautifully original place to stay with fabulous quirks and individualism. A really comfortable bedroom, a lovely garden to sit in and the breakfast was so thoughtful and delicious. Pascal and Evelyne are such lovely people and were so helpful with advice on where to go in Cognac. This has to be one of the nicest chambre de hotes we have ever stayed in.

Everything was perfect

Everything was great, from the warm welcome from our lovely hostess who was so friendly and helpful. To the comfortable bed, great shower with lots of fluffy towel. We were on a road trip and sadly only used it as a stop over, that was our mistake! Should have booked longer to see more of Cognac and enjoyed more of this lovely accommodation. With it's outdoor rooftop garden/terrace were we enjoyed a delicious breakfast, hopefully there will be a next time.

l could not fault a thing, also we had no problem parking.
