I stayed at the Hotel California for 3 nights. The location is perfect if you want to visit Tianmen Mountain. The cable car or the bus is only 10 minutes away on foot. For the national park you just have to go to the bus station, which is also only 10 minutes away. The room was more than big enough for one person. I only met the host twice. I always got up early. The internet was stable and there are various small restaurants and shops nearby where you can buy something. Also remember that Google Maps doesn't work if you're looking for the hotel. In China they use a different map format. I just used Maps.me, it works.

The Homestay is perfectly located one block away from the Restaurant alley, and 8 min walk from Tianmen cable car entrance. There’s a 24h mini market next door. The accommodation has everything you need with no frills: the elevator reaches all floors, the room has working AC and the shower pressure was good. The highlight of our stay was Jerry: we didn’t really plan our activities in ZJJ, and Jerry was kind enough to book for us the tickets for Tianmen Mountain and suggested us the best way to approach the visit. He also picked us up at the station and drove us to the Forest Park (at a fee) and took our luggage to the hotel and stored them in our room. We would have not been able to visit everything we managed to see without Jerry’s suggestions and help.

Some rooms are fitted with Chinese toilets. If this is a bother, make sure you book (and maybe request in a separate message) a room with western toilet

The owners were wonderful and helped us out in planning our trip to the national park, answer questions, allowed us to keep the luggage there for the afternoon on the day of the checkout and allowed us to use the washing machines. They were also speaking English, which is really helpful! The room was clean and quite comfortable.

We were really not a fan of the squat toilet and having the shower so close to it, but helpfulness of the owners and the location made up for it. Also the place on the map is slightly wrong - it's on the same side street of 实惠超市(官黎路店) on baidu maps. Do call the owner and he'll help you out!

Jerry, the host at Hotel California Zhangjiajie, really made our stay exceptional. From the moment we booked, he was on hand to answer all our questions, both before and during the trip. His local knowledge and friendly approach were a huge help, making us feel welcome and well looked after throughout. As for the hotel itself, the location couldn’t have been better. We could easily walk to the railway station, bus station, and Tianmenshan Cableway, with the airport just a short drive away. The rooms were clean and comfortable, with air conditioning, always-hot showers, and reliable Wi-Fi. It was the perfect place to relax after a day of exploring. Highly recommend this spot if you’re visiting Zhangjiajie!

Hotel California Zhangjiajie turned out to be a cracking little spot for our trip. It’s in a dead handy location, with the railway station, bus station, and Tianmenshan Cableway all within walking distance, and the airport just a short drive away. The rooms were spot on, with air-con, a hot shower on tap 24/7, and free Wi-Fi. But what really made the stay was Jerry, the host. He was absolutely brilliant, answering all our questions before we even got there and sorting us out during the trip. Nothing was too much trouble for him. With all that and the handy extras, it made the trip a lot easier. If you’re heading to Zhangjiajie, this place is a proper gem.

Despite staying only for a few hours, arriving at 7 PM and leaving at 7 AM the next day, my experience was excellent. Jerry was incredibly helpful, answering all my questions about the Zhangjiajie trip and even assisting me with purchasing the Tianmen Mountain entrance ticket, which solved a big issue for me. The hostel's location is ideal—within walking distance of Tianmen Mountain and directly across from the bus station.

The room was fairly basic, but I think it was good value for the price. It took me some time to find the hostel since the taxi could only drop me off on the main road. However, Jerry quickly came to fetch me when I had trouble locating the place.

The owner speaks very good English and cares a lot about the guests. The location of the place is perfect! Very close to the central bus station (useful to go to Wulingyuan), the Tianmenshan cable car station, the railway station and close to many restaurants and supermarkets.

The location indicated on booking.com is misleading (they are aware of it and hopefully fix it soon). It is actually located very close to atour hotel and even closer to the bus station than shown. I had to search for the hotel a bit due to this. But the owner was very forthcoming and came to pick me up in the end when I got lost.

The hotel is located in walking distance to the cable car station to visit Tianment mountain. Jerry was friendly and welcoming, waited for us to check us in as we had a late night train. He also offered storing our luggage as we did an overnight stay in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park. Our rooms were clean, comfortable with western toilets, everything was great. There are grocery stores and street food stalls nearby, especially recommended the sweet lady serving noodles next door.

this hotel is really good and the location is also very near to cable car station. host is very kind and helpful. room is quiet and clean. there are supermarket and street food available just outside the hotel. really nice place to stay.

there is some location issue on google map and i reached to some different location. dont rely on google map it does not show accurate location in china. this hostel is very near to bus station.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone! The room was really clean and nice, the bed was comfortable. The location is perfect for seeing Tianmen mountain as the cable car ticket office is only a short walk away. The owner was the friendliest and most helpful person ever. He helped me book my ticket for the mountain and gave me detailed directions as well as a map (I would have been so lost without it). I was able to leave my luggage at reception after check out for a few hours and he also helped me sort transportation to my next hotel. Overall, it was an amazing experience and I felt very welcome during my stay. I would definitely come back!
