The owners were very kind in helping us plan out our travels, and they even offer transfers for a small fee to and from popular spots or the nearest bus stops. They were very knowledgeable about traveling in Sado. The stay itself was very homey. There were multiple bathrooms, the rooms had blackout curtains, there was a common space, bikes to rent for free, a beautiful rose garden, and many adorable cats running around the apartment ready to be petted.
The room had blackout curtains to block out the light coming in, but the lights from the corridor were bright, so it was hard to fall asleep when the other guests still had the light on.

Hiroko-san has been so lovely and helpful in welcoming us and sharing with us the places to visit and eat. We visited all the sushi places she recommended for dinner and they are spectacular. She even helped us reserved the dinner at a local sushi restaurant for our last night and it was one of the best dinners we ever had. Her Guesthouse is super clean and spacious and the beds r so comfortable. And most of all the lovely cats that accompanied us. We miss them!
Nothing. All very good

I stayed in the western style room of the house, there are also multiple rooms with tatami floors and futons. The bathroom and a lounge/kitchen are shared between guests. The owner is very helpful and friendly, she also speaks English well. On foot it takes a while to the closest bus station but you can ask to get picked up at the bus station which costs ¥100. The 4 cats are all very friendly. They walk around freely inside the house and can also enter guest rooms except at night.

This was such a lovely place to stay. The owner is really nice and speaks English fairly well. The room was large and very comfortable. Had our own heating and cooling. There is a communal living room that has a refrigerator, microwave, toaster, tv, karaoke machine and games you can play. There is a lot of maps and pamphlets you can look through with information about the area. Bathroom is large and clean. The cats are adorable and can’t wait to come and say good morning to you.

Great value, super cute friendly cats, and the owner gave us such good recommendations!
Only negative for some folks: would avoid if you're allergic to cats (obviously), and if you're tall (over ~1.9m), you might have a rough time in the room with lower ceilings. We were just under that and love cats, so not an issue for us!

A great place to stay on Sado island. Best to get a car but if you can't (we forget to get out IDP before leaving the uk) there are buses nearby and we hired bikes as well as using the ones at rosencat. Peaceful location. Comfortable futons and friendly owner :) The place is very clean too and the cats are gorgeous
There isn't complete privacy as it's screen doors. But we knew that and didn't mind.

Extremely nice house and rooms with the best host we could imagine! Plus the friendly cats roaming the house - what else would you want? We received a pick-up from the bus and she even organized a rental car because we underestimated the challenges of getting around the island without a car. You also get tipps for sightseeing and events in the area like fireworks in the summer. We would visit again any time!

The bed was super comfy! The landlady provided coffee and tea in the community room, that was very appreciated. She gave me a ride from and to the nearest bus station - thank you so much! Also her cats and her rose garden are very beautiful :)

it was a Real delight to stay in rosencat. First of all, Hiroko (the Host) helped us in all our projets, and also give us a lot of advices. She lend us some of her own tools and was very preoccupied by our well being. thanks a lot for this moment of quietness and piece.
