I would like to thank the staff for the great care they took with my dietary requirements (coeliac). The executive chef and the staff who spoke to me at dinner and especially breakfast went above and beyond my expectations. I am so grateful to the executive chef who created a specific breakfast menu for me. I greatly appreciated this and was in awe of the overall attention to detail. And the food was delicious and healthy. The outlook from my breakfast table was gorgeous with a beautiful view of the mountains and trees, very peaceful and calming. I also found the rooms to be very clean, spacious and fascinating with tatami on the floor and ceiling. There was so much thought and attention to detail to the decor which I admired. I also slept very well after using the hot springs private bath. Overall an excellent, relaxing stay.

On booking.com I don't recall seeing free shuttle bus from Sapporo station. Maybe it was there but it wasn't obvious to me. I caught the public bus which took longer and a lot of stops. I found out about the free shuttle bus when I arrived and caught it back to Sapporo so please make it more obvious on booking.com of the free shuttle bus.

What a wonderful experience staying at JOZANKEI Onsen Yurakusoan. The Onsen in the room was great! The public Onsen was great and the private Onsen were great!! The food served at breakfast and dinner was bountiful and there were extra snacks and late night free ramen supper around the hotel. It was relaxing and tranquil. The surrounding town is nice and small, a few convenience stores and food stalls, a small waterfall and just beautiful scenery. We went during winter and was able to take in the beautiful snowy landscape. It was surprisingly easy to get to via the public bus from Sapporo station

They only have 4 private onsen which means that depending on how many other guests there are you may need to wait in line. Not a major deal though

Very nice atmosphere. At first I was concerned with the size of the hotel, it seems to have many more rooms than any Ryokan I had known before. But the place is very well designed for privacy and relaxation and the staff is excellent. The room was very comfortable, all details carefully though of.

Oh my gosh.. where do I begin. A beautiful ryokan with both public and private onsens with fantastic winter views. Dinner was a huge kaiseki meal with sashimi, steamed seafood, beef sukiyaki and various appetisers. The rooms and the entire resort was elegantly decorated at every turn. The best part that topped off the day and experience is the ramen offering at 10pm for supper.

the resort was hard to find as one can't see the hotel signboards clearly.

It was a nice stay and a great experience. We had a room with a private onsen which was nice, but it was an onsen inside the room - we stayed at another property which had an outside one (much nicer when it’s snowing). The food was amazing, a great experience. Staff were all nice and respectful.

One of the bad points was the lack of noise canceling in the room - we could hear everything outside in the hallway, and even people talking in the rooms next door - not great as you’re relaxing in the onsen and you can hear people talking next door.

Attention to detail from the design of onsen to the adjustable bedside table ( very soft to reading strength). Great service. Refined dinner and breakfast sets. The public onsen and private ones all have views. Public bath has various types of temperature and cold plunge which I loved. There is also a hinoki soaking tub w view in the room. Overall the ryokan married traditional Japanese style with western comforts so seamlessly. We really enjoyed our experience.

Towels available only in the room.

Excellent property and facilities; the Onsen facilities were amazing and very new and clean; the dinner and breakfast are very tasty and memorable.

They only give one key per room, so hard to logistically work out Onsen between men and women in the family as we don’t all go at the same time and finish Onsen at the same time. Don’t understand why they can’t offer another set of keys

It's a modern Ryokan. Firstly, the staff was all so friendly and helpful. Then, the facilities are so clean and tidy. Everything was explained and organised for us. The room has its own private bath with the mineral water pumped up. But it also has a huge public bath with outdoor view. Meal was Kaiseki style. Dinner and breakfast was inclusive.

Nothing.

Japanese style dadami room layout, traditional vivbe and dishes. Very nice for travellers.

Time allocation for meals can be a bit inconvenient. We got given a very late time for dinner, so couldn’t enjoy the late snack service. Though we do understand as it would be too busy with the amount of tourists staying.
