Very well maintained, overnight staff was super helpful. I really liked how only hotel guests have access to the parking lot across the street. Made it pleasantly safe and gives one a feeling of reassurance that your vehicle won’t be tampered within the city.

The location is next to a sketchy big open alleyway. Which my room was directly overhead. You can imagine the noise all throughout the night. Since it’s located downtown with a lot of bars. Heard a fight breakout and intoxicated people yelling at different times. Just be careful, there’s a lot of creepy people that hang around the building if you decide like myself to walk a block away to get some food.

The hotel is barebones but the staff was friendly at check-in and checkout and for any needs. (For example, our hairdryer didn't work and it was fixed immediately). The rooms are a little tired (the carpet is torn at the edges etc...) but are very big. We were on the top floor and had a nice view of the city. The location is super central and useful. The parking was convenient but expensive (~$25 a day). Seemed like the best value for money in New Haven.

Could be more amenities (like a breakfast room) and the room we were in was a little old and could be cleaned a little better.

We had a wonderful stay at the New Haven Hotel! The rooms were spacious, spotlessly clean, and beautifully decorated, providing a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere. The staff was very friendly and attentive, adding to the overall positive experience. The location is fantastic, with Yale University just a short walk away, making it ideal for exploring the campus and nearby attractions. Parking was convenient, too – there’s a garage across the street with a direct walkway to the hotel. We only stayed one night but would have loved to stay longer. Highly recommend!

We arrived at the New Haven Hotel after a fair journey and were able to unload our luggage easily in their enclosed drop-off - after checking in and a short settling in, we took the car to the car park which was joined to the hotel by a secure foot bridge. We were almost in the heart of New Haven and were able to get about easily by foot from the hotel lobby, that said, taking the car in and out was also very easy and never felt like we were anything more than in the hotel car park (excellent location). The room was spacious with a desk, wardrobe and comfortable beds and a good size, well lit bathroom. On an upper floor was a small gym for guest use and beyond that was a laundry room that we made good use of during our stay. Thank you to all the staff at the New Haven Hotel.

There was no breakfast, per se. There was a shop in the lobby that offered some food but it was not really a cafe or restaurant. There was a garage, but see below.

There was a garage, but no valet parking available. That meant that I had to park across the street from the hotel in inner city New Haven and walk back to the hotel. There was a bridge that went from the garage to the second floor of the hotel but the doors to the hotel were wide open. It didn't feel secure. If my husband had been with me, or even a friend, I would have been more comfortable.

Everything was pretty good, location excellent and I loved the draft beer and market options available by reception. Laundry detergent dispenser didn’t work but front desk quickly remedied, is a known issue apparently. And laundry machines themselves seemed to work grea, a real bonus to be able to do laundry easy. Friendly staff. Would stay here again.

Only strike against was that the room itself had a musty or odd odor to it, which would’ve been a bigger issue possibly if staying longer or with other family. The view from the room was directly at the roof and ugly mechanical which was not ideal, but our rate hadn’t suggested any view so that was acceptable and didn’t affect me for one night. That room odor was the only real negative.

We had a double queen room that was huge. Beds were comfortable. Self parking across the street was easy. Staff were super friendly and helpful. They helped take my luggage to my room as I was juggling two kids. Aircon was abit noisy but it didn’t bother us. I requested a quiet room and it was perfect, no street noise. Walking distance (10mins) to Yale tour. My husband worked remotely in the lounge downstairs (PowerPoints available at tables).

We were missing takeaway coffee cups in our room but we don’t use them so didn’t mind.

I was here for Yale. It has fulfilled my expectation on how close it is to walk to Yale campus. The location is outstanding: bars, restaurants, attractions, and museums. The staffs are so helpful and willing to assist me anytime. The 4 staffs I met were so helpful, kind, and responsive I had quality of sleep. I felt safe staying at this hotel. The union station is also within waling distance: 12 mnts. Parking is affordable for each night of my stay.

I would score the hotel to 10 if it didn't place me in the broken AC room. I traveled from Indonesia to New Haven for Yale but found that my room air con didn't work. It was summer and was so hot. So I had to complain after couple hours and the staff moved me to the right room. However there is only one staff which is not so helpful and reluctance to help. I wish there was at least continental breakfast provided

Location is outstanding and the rooms are very comfortable. Parking is included in the rate. Which is a major plus and much appreciated.

Wall lights between the bed didn’t work, including the outlets. So, we couldn’t charge our phones next to our beds. Also, the TV’s are set so you may “cast” your own entertainment. Set up wasn’t difficult, but not everyone has streaming services on their phone. Would have appreciated a simple, cable/streaming package as the primary option. Finally, I began receiving “are you ready to check-out?” Emails at 6:45am and each proceeding hour until 9:45am. Four total emails, and one text, asking me if I was ready to check out. If the staff weren’t so nice, and realizing this was a technical issue, I would have taken offense.

The property itself is stunning on the exterior and when you walk in. I have stayed in a lot of hotels and I swear it is the best sleep I’ve ever had. Located right in the core of the downtown. Great walking distance from Yale University not far easy in and out access to get to shopping. I am absolutely staying there again in the future.

This location really is the full package for access to anywhere. Close to the highway short distance to the train station if you want to head to New York City or elsewhere.
