Serene location with vast views of the ocean. I wandered in to Andilana beach, and although it’s a pretty beach, I was grateful to have picked a more peaceful location. Wonderful hospitality by bar and kitchen staff. Dany was super helpful in the lead up and during my visit. Previous reviews mentioned difficulties if you didn’t speak French. This was not my experience; English was widely spoken. A true gem.

Everything was excellent.

Very welcoming-personable manager/owner upon arrival. The location/spot is breath-taking as it looks in pictures. We used the gorgeous view pool multiple times, and food and service were great. Possible to walk (long) off the road to NW peninsula, but a bit uphill and nearly everyone arrives with a Tuk-tuk, moped, or taxi. Cabins are cute, ask for a “Comfort Cabin” (a bit more panoramic view positioning. A walk down the slope to the beach I estimate would be ~10 minutes, … We chose to rent a moped for two days and go around the island and to end of peninsula. The owner was great with contacts and suggestions.

Best location to stay on Nosy in our experience.

The common area was a lovely place to relax. The bar and food’s menu was great and the staff and owners are very kind.

Although it says it has access to the beach, it’s quite a walk but the beach is not good for leisure. It’s wild and deserted, not ideal for spending time. I ended spending more time by the pool.

The food. The staff. The owner. And The view. They even made a daily special vegan menu for us. Great affordable massages(except maybe they could have smaller fingernails). The room isn't fancy but who spend all their time in the room on vacations. The bed was soooo comfy

The beach below isn't a beach to visit. But a short walk and a tuk tuk took us to a close by beach.

We had a great time at Le Grand Bleu. The owners, Jaqués and Celine, are very kind and communicative. All the staff, servers, guards, and drivers were very nice and friendly. The food is very good. Overall, this place has amazing value. We would definitely stay here again. We did 3 tours organized by the hotel (Nosy Iranja, Nosy Sakatia and canoeing to Leboke park). Extra notes - The bedrooms are comfortable but not luxurious. Everything was very clean. - The water pressure and water temperature are nice for showering - The view is amazing. You will immediately feel relaxed upon arriving - It is located in a very safe part of the island - They prefer you pay in cash as opposed to credit card. The closest ATM is at the airport 45 minutes away by taxi, so make sure you have more than enough cash at the beginning - It is common to see lizards and cockroaches in the rooms (but hey, it’s Africa so what do you expect?!) - If you speak French you are fine, but if not the communication can be a struggle and awkward at times - Make sure you have enough cash to tip your servers, guides and drivers - Tuktuks are a very common form of transportation. Take one to have some fun!

The owner/manager Dany kindly upgraded me to a sea view with a queen bed for my birthday. They also gave me complimentary Malagasy rum shots! The room was clean and spacious. Exactly what I needed for my stay in Nosy Be. Plenty of outlets and very comfortable bed!! The best part of the stay was the staff. Everyone was so kind and ensured I had an amazing stay. They even went out with me for a night in the town on my last night. Love them!!!

Danny was an exceptional host, and nothing was too much trouble. The staff is all very friendly, with an awesome vibe all around. The view is spectacular and food is very good.

Peaceful, the balconies/patios attached to each bungalow were wonderful to relax and take in the view, the pool is beautiful and clean
