The breakfast space was very nice, clean, open and well appointed . The wait staff and food preparers were not friendly nor welcoming.

The warm food offered was below my standards. Overcooked scrambled eggs and sliced fried hot dogs. Simple boiled eggs would have been easy to do and provide alternatives. Cereals offered were off brand and unappealing. Bagels were OK but english muffins would be better choice. The toasters were of low wattage and it took 3 complete cycles to show any browning at all. The Trip Advisor reviews were very negative about the dinner restaurant menu so we decided to walk to the Log House for a very appealing dinner.

The room was excellent, the bed, beyond! The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and proud of their hotel and town. The rooftop bar and bartender were phenomenal...............can't wait for food service and music to complete the package. We didn't eat/drink at the downstairs bar, so can't comment. The breakfast was good. We will definitely be there again as our halfway stop between Georgia and Pittsburgh.

This place is a gem. Central location with on-site upscale restaurant. Rooftop lounge completes the luxury. Park the car and enjoy. The history just adds to the experience.

Previously, the restaurant closed on Monday seriously reducing the value to me as an overnight traveler. Before that, and recently they seem to be keeping needed hours so I just mention maybe to check in advance. Other than that, this is a top place at a very reasonable price.

Everyone was friendly and eager to help. We could stay there and enjoy a good dinner without leaving the hotel. I am pleased to see a property preserve a part of history.

A great art deco hotel should have hired someone to address the art work in the lobby and in the rooms. So Mrs. Wilson liked orchids and sheep. The modern art work of both is grossly out of keeping with the rest of the hotel.

Breakfast was over when we got downstairs... We had packed up to leave before we went to eat.

Dinner would have been awesome but your kitchen was not working as a team with servers...my appetizer came , husbands dinner arrived...my dinner never arrived and 3 other tables in the room with a different server had the same issues.

History, clean, pleasant check in.

The restaurant served horrible shrimp and grits, it was inedible. Also menu on line is not the menu they serve. The lady sitting next to me also returned her steak frites. There is NO happy hour as advertised on line. This restaurant has serious problems. However, the room is beautiful and it could be something special??

The facilities were unique which is always a benefit when compared with "box" hotels. The staff was efficient and helpful.

The food was pretty awful. I feel bad complaining about a free breakfast but it doesn't help to have "free" if it is inedible. Dinner was not free & it was not good either. Far too over-salted and the caesar salad was inedible due to a flood of dressing soaking it.

Everything was nice from the staff to the room.

The dog next door to my room whining and barking. This made for my second night not so fun and no sleep. I think the owners must have left them in the room alone or something. Woke me up several times and was whining at 6am Sunday morning, I wasn’t a happy person when leaving Sunday morning.

A beautiful hotel off the highway (equals quiet). Beds are extremely comfortable. The bath area is large and the rooms are updated and clean. A roof top bar offers great views. This is a jewel with a great staff. Nearby dining options and shopping all within walking distance, and by the way... you are nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Well done and we hope to see the restaurant reopening in the near future. This was my second stay and will not be the last.

The hotel restaurant Graze on Main was not open and is in the stage of reopening. Not really a dislike.

The staff were all just wonderful. Very friendly and helpful; I felt so much at home I stayed an extra night. The rooftop patio was amazing - with 360 views of the surrounding mountains (I just wished some of the comfy seating was under a cover since it was raining off and on).

The breakfast was pretty good, but dinner I had at the attached restaurant was just OK.
