This was a renovated rustic manor house in a quiet location on the outskirts of Montoire sur le Loir with a lovely pool area and outdoor seating areas. There was a large communal guest lounge with TV and DVDs (some in English) and large dining table for 6 people and a communal kitchen where our host Jerome prepared a good breakfast. We had the double bedroom with a small modern ensuite shower room. There were 2 other bedrooms (adjoined) with use of the downstairs bathroom. There was secure parking and we were given a remote control for the external gates. Good location for cycling along the Loir river (Sport Passion 41 bike hire shop in Montoire but closed Sunday and Monday) and there was a Lidl just down the road in Montoire. We had a lovely meal in the Italian restaurant Le Piron on Jerome's recommendation. A nice relaxing stay.

The wooden spiral staircase was a bit noisy but Jerome is planning to replace it

Great location ideally situated for overnight stay en-Route to Cherbourg. Gated driveway to the lovely grounds of the property which includes a small swimming pool, ideal for freshening up after a long drive. No evening meal available but owner gave us directions to a very pleasant riverside restaurant.

Creaking spiral staircase to 1st floor is a bit challenging, especially carrying luggage.

Nice location and guest. The room was comfortable and the breakfast really good. A lot of space.

Unfortunately, the swimming pool was not possible to use as it has been some contamination in it, making a need to be cleaned by a professional.

Very quiet and personal. We had the whole barn conversion to ourselves. It’s still a slight work in progress but the hosts were very helpful and welcoming.

We had the whole property to ourselves, including the pool, and it was very spacious. the host was very friendly and made us French breakfast every morning. he was there for everything we needed. it was a very lovely stay!

A job in progress. Old cottage once the servants quarters and part of a large estate. It's in the process of being modernised but it will take some time. Kitchen, bathroom & toilet facilities were acceptable, but the rest was very tired and in need of replacing or lots of TLC. Jerome the host was very pleasant and provided us with a nice continental breakfast. I suppose the best way to sum it up would be the Marmite option.

Access to the bedrooms upstairs was quite precarious via an old and very ricketty spiral staircase. It's not for the faint hearted. Also access to the 2nd bedroom was through the first. Waste bin in the kitchen has not been emptied and the tea towel was quite grubby. Access to the property itself was via entryphone on metal gates situated on a main road. Details of this in advance would have been helpful as arrival on a rainy day, or with a car full of kids might be a problem.
