Vincent is a very good host, always ready to help. The location is also very good since you have a bus stop on the corner and a convenience store just downstairs where you can charge your bus card. The library is really nice and normally we should have had our breakfast inside but unfortunately Vincent got injured and couldn’t prepare us the breakfast. Our room has Air Conditioning which we loved considering Jeju high temperatures. The accommodations was really well equipped with hygiene products, toals, and even hairdryers!

The only think that we would like to pointout was the fact that the toals were too small.

- location super covenient with major bus stop just 4min walking distance from the hostel - kitchen/fridge/freezer to use and store items - feels very homey and gives family vibes as the rooms are all in an apartment - shoes have to be taken off at the entrace, which helps keep the inside clean - fresh towels always available, as well as hair dryer, soap. Body wash and shampoo also provided in the shower - privacy curtains on each bunk - hangers and rack in the dorm rooms help hang up coats and limit the chaos - the matresses are rock hard. I loved that but for some this might be uncomfortable

- only one bathroom for each sex in the apartment, which made for some waiting around especially in the mornings - shower and toilet in the same room, so you could not use the toilet while someone else was taking showers; bit inconvenient

Our stay at Ganderak Guesthouse made our visit to Jeju Island so special. Vincent and his wife were super kind and welcoming and were always around to help. They run a cosy, dreamy book cafe on site and it is one of the nicest spots for a drink or a coffee, a hidden gem on Jeju! The accommodation itself was comfy and felt very homely. All the rooms were clean and the facilities were in good condition. The shared bathroom had a great shower with hot water and good water pressure. Fridge space available in the cute kitchen area to keep any food or drinks. Breakfast in the cafe was delicious with fresh fruit, toast and homemade jam and egg and bacon and juice or coffee. Location is also perfect for exploring the island as we visited Seogwipo and hiked Mount Hallasan and was able to get buses to and from the Gwaneumsa and Seongpanak trails. Bus stop is close by and there are two convenience stores right next door to the guesthouse. Even better, we arrived at night and it wasn’t until morning that we realized that we were on a street lined with beautiful cherry blossoms! Very lucky to have arrived in time for the blossoming season. I felt very taken care of at Ganderak Guesthouse and enjoyed everything about this place. I miss it already and wish I could have stayed longer!

The guesthouse was really comfortable and has a really unique cafe next to it. There is a bus station nearby (2 min. walk), which takes you to the Hallasan trail in 30 minutes, if you’re interested in the hike.

The property doesn’t have any lockers, you aren’t allowed to eat in your room, the general ‘sleeping’ time is set at 00:00 (if you want to get up early for the hike, having a good sleep helps), and there is one shower per each gender (for me it wasn’t a problem since there weren’t many people on my floor, but I could imagine that this could be less convenient when there are more people, so choose you’re shower time wisely then 😉).

Location not far away from the airport and bus lines to the city center and other parts of Jeju. Friendly helpful hosts. Nice cafe which offers a decent breakfast (for extra). Beds come with their own heat pads so you can stay warm. Free towels. of

It is a bit far out of the center and other than a convenience store and a few cafes, there aren't a lot of amenities within walking distance. The bathroom is the common setup in Asia with no real partition between the shower/toilet/sink space so water gets everywhere.

Best hostel I've stayed at. Welcoming staff, clean and beautiful accommodations. Quiet neighborhood, near city center with public transport that is located a short distance from the Hostel. Accommodation had double panned windows to block out street traffic. At the time had city workers working on the road, the sound was very minimal thanks to the windows. Refrigerator to store food, filtered water dispenser right next to it. Fresh towels everyday found in bathroom cabinet. Home cooked breakfast at their café for only 3000 krw. Reccomendations from staff on where to go. AC wall unit in rooms, which were VERY effective in cooling the room. Agree with others on the firmness of the mattress, but these AREN'T western style beds. As visitors in the east, things should be expected to be different.

Although there was a stove top, there were no pans or pots to cook. Was limited to microwave and electric kettle. I wouldn't say the rooms are soundproof, but during my time the guests, once in their rooms, were very respectful of their noise. I could hear conversations held in the common place/dinning area pretty clearly from my room. But nothing boisterous and held during respectable hours.

A very nice stay! The host is very nice, the breakfast is good and the book cafe very cozy! Rooms were clean, bed mattress was a bit hard but I got a good night's sleep. Kitchen was nicely equipped with a large fridge, plates and cups, microwave, water dispenser. Good location, a lot of buses go right past the guest house and there is a GS25 convenience store right next to it. I had a wonderful stay!

In the women's shower the water temperature was very difficult to get to warm, it was going for burning hot to freezing cold. Also the shower and bathroom are in the same space, so if somebody's in the bathroom showering and you have use the toilet, you have to wait or use the men's room.

Very clean and delicious breakfast that came with fruits, salad, fried egg, bun and sausage. Heater for bed

Vincent and his wife Mina were so friendly and welcoming. They even stayed up to greet us after our flight was delayed. Vincent explained everything to us and showed us around the property. The bedrooms were clean and all had aircon. There were two separate bathrooms for male and female and they were fully stocked with towels. The female bathroom even had a small vanity area with hairdryer and other items. Breakfast each morning was included and cooked by Vincent - there was a salad and fruit bar plus a fried egg and hot sweet bread with homemade jam. The guesthouse had a lovely vibe about it, the bottom floor being a bookstore. Vincent and his wife are currently renovating an old church to make another communal area for the guesthouse. For the price we paid for five days, this guesthouse really was excellent, I highly reccommend it.

For foreign travellers, the beds are very Korean style and are a lot firmer than foreigners like myself might be used to. The communal kitchen/eating area did not have aircon and as we visited in summer, it got very hot when we ate in a large group for long periods of time. I don't think this would be an issue during other times of the year.
