Our last four nights of a two week motorcycle tour of Northern Spain were spent at the Hotel La Balsa. The rooms were comfortable, but the bathrooms were a little on the small size, although this did not detract from our overall experience. The staff were pleasant, attentive to our needs and very helpful. Breakfasts were very good with plenty of choice, and whilst there was no evening meal available at the hotel, there were several restaurants within easy walking distance. I would happily recommend this hotel to other travellers. Thank you...

Perfect stay, very impressive and charming interior, the breakfast room was amazing and the breakfast itself very rich and tasty-we loved it! Yes it’s next to the street but you have a beautiful view nevertheless and in our eyes not relevant since eveybody who books it can see the location … and we could sleep with an open window because there was very few traffic during the night. We also appreciated the safe storage for our bicycles 👍

This is a historic property that seemed to be run by a local family. The host (owner?) Emilio spoke good English in addition to his Native Spanish. I love the rustic wood all over the property and the outside spaces with stone patios was really nicely done. A good blend of old stone house with modern bathrooms and windows that open to let in the cool mountain air. Breakfast was great and served at tables, also there's an area in the dining room with fruit and yogurt that you could easily grab and go with.

Some might be challenged by the stairs with a great deal of luggage, but the Staff/Owner was very willing to help with luggage and only went up one floor. Its a relatively small property and the Staff seem to know each guest.

A charming family-run hotel is conveniently located between Cangas de Onís and Covadonga, making it perfect to reach both places within a 10-minute drive. Very clean with a lot of attention to the small details that make this hotel comfortable The owner speaks fluent English and is exceptionally friendly: recommended a restaurant for us. We like breakfast, that is served in a beautifully designed room and includes fresh juice, eggs, ham, salami, bread, pate, jam, and a homemade family cake.

At first we were a little confused thinking we’d booked a hotel of the same name in Cangas de Onis but actually this place was great! Fantastic location for Covadonga and Cangas de Onis; really quiet, lovely staff, great breakfast, plenty of parking spaces and a great restaurant a few hundred yards away.

Nice quiet hotel 5 min by car to the small lovely town of Cangas de Onis, and on the road to Covadonga sanctuary and lakes. This area of Asturias is really beautiful, so much greenery around! Breakfast was delicious and plenty of choice. The owner also makes homemade cakes, and I was able to try one of his pastels de calabacin, it was absolutely delicious! Thank you for being so welcoming 😀

What an amazing hotel / house! Very nicely and authentically decorated rooms and common spaces. Comfortable bed. The owner is very welcoming and offering recommendations. Tasty breakfast including scrambled eggs. Quiet rooms but earplugs are also provided for light sleepers (the hotel is located by a road).

Charming inn asturiano with duper comfortable beds and outstanding breakfast. Our host gave us the best recommendations on where to eat and how to get to the Lagos de Covadonga. Superb service.

Shower water pressure was little weak but good enough.

I loved everything about this place! Nice decor, inviting reception, cozy and clean rooms, quiet location and amazing, helpful staff.

Hard to think of anything I didn't like. Just wish I had more time there and to return, one day.

A cozy hotel in the perfect spot to explore picos de Europa. It was not only very comfortable, clean but also it had a great ambience. In addition breakfast was very good and the stuff very friendly and helpful. We would definitely recommend it!
