Hotel is a restored medieval castle set in lovely grounds. Our room was in the original tower which also had a roof terrace with great views over the surrounding countryside. Receptionist was very helpful and friendly and spoke good English. We had dinner in the restaurant: good food well presented and served by a delightful friendly waitress. Breakfast was typical Spanish continental breakfast with bread, croissants, fruit, cold meats and cheese.

Bathroom not ideal. A very small washbasin. Bath with shower over, for which curtain had been set behind taps and caused a minor flood when we failed to realise the problem. Car park some distance from reception so had to carry our luggage.

Charming and historical atmosphere, big and pretty rooms, estate is well kept and the service is good. On the roof terrace you have a stunning view around the area. The restaurant offers a high standard cuisine and the price is decent. The breakfast is good and you have a lot of choices. The quality of the menue is very good and served in a very aestethic way. The waiter who served us dinner was very friendly and interested which I really liked.

Some of the staff is not customer orientated. It was not possible to eat outside on the terrace for lunch (we wanted to have a snack). After the manager showed up, it was possible. They should invest in a glass door instead of shower curtains and some cosmetic tissues in the bathroom.

Loved the staff, they were sweet and accommodating. The castle was beautiful and I loved that they kept a lot original, as much as possible. I also loved how close it was to Gernika-Lumo city

The only thing I didn’t like was how hot the room was. Since it was October the heater would only run, however it was a hot October day (80’s) so the room didn’t cool down despite having windows open. But that’s just about anywhere you go in Northern Spain (no AC in fall/winter months), so not their fault.

Lovely welcome. Very comfortable bed. Dinner was exceptional.

Shower over bath with a curtain is never a good thing and as the bath had an old fashioned plug exactly where you sit or recline that was not good either! Breakfast was not great. Although cereal was on the menu the manager had to brought over to find a couple of packets - coops or special k were the choice! No muesli or granola. not very generous fruit.

It was an absolutely amazing and unique experience. The rooms were fantastic and the dining was top notch. I liked that all mini bar drinks were included in the price.

I cannot think of anything major that was a problem. To be picky, it would be nice to have a bar, lounge to order drinks, but the front desk staff took care of that for us.

the castle was amazing and the staff were superb. The restaurant was excellent, one of the best meals I've ever had and the wait staff were ultra professional and yet friendly and helpful with suggestions. The town is small and not much to do activity wise. My only wish would be to have some type of activities available. We then would have booked for a longer stay because the accommodations are outstanding.

We really liked everything!

It’s a spectacular hotel. In an old medieval castle the views of the surrounding landscape are phenomenal, the staff are attentive and incredibly helpful and the food is very good. I really liked breakfasts in the dining room and drinking wine on the roof.

It was a real castle in good condition. Staff was very kind and helpful, special mention to Anna, she went out of her way to make us feel comfortable.

The grounds around the castle were poorly illuminated.
