The Reception staff were absolutely super! Charming, friendly, and really helpful (eg. ensuring we had a room with bath as requested; ordering us a taxi) as well as impressively fluent in so many languages! It was good to know they were there if we wanted to ask something. The hotel felt very well run, with a lot of care and attention to detail regarding both surroundings and guests. There was a lovely range of fruit at breakfast.

Our room was very small for a double (which we knew beforehand from the pictures) so we felt a smaller double bed would have worked better than the large one that took up almost all the floor space. Wholewheat bread and tortilla at breakfast would have been nice.

Staff that went above and beyond to make our stay great. Plenty of choices for breakfast. They had good coffee and heated milk available to serve myself. My room was cleaned promptly each day. It’s an older hotel with lots of charm and a few quirks. Plenty of hot water for showering even at busy times. I enjoyed the artwork and memorabilia on the walls that showed the hotels history.

Lots of stairs to get to our room. that we had to drag our bags to and from. Two types of electric plugs in our room, we only had one type of adapter. Parking with more than 3 spots that was close to the hotel entrance would have been nice or at least a couple of spaces dedicated to loading and unloading luggage would help. Maybe a few too many nick knacks in the rooms and hotels. Lots of noise from people going past our room to and from the lobby. There was constant noise from a door slamming closed below our room although it was quieter late at night. It’s an old, well maintained hotel. I’d stay there again in a heartbeat.

One of the very few stays where I got the feeling that the staff really cares about the guests. The hotels decor is super lovely, the breakfast is great, beds are comfy, and everyone was just very nice

The A/C broke down in our room. But the staff called us in advance to let us know and to offer us free cancellation. We decided to stay, they gave us extra fans and it was more than ok. Loved the anticipation and consideration - especially if something “negative” happened.

Perfectly located as a centre for our tour of the Costa Brava. Quiet location with mountain and harbour views from our balcony. Friendly and helpful staff. Excellent breakfasts. Good local restaurants within a short walk from the hotel. Ample free car off road parking within 2 minutes walk from the hotel.

Nothing really to dislike. Maybe the rooms could have been a little larger but still very comfortable.

The hotel is just great, especially for 2 stars. It’s very nice and beautiful, the rooms are small but very cute, light and well decorated. The breakfast was great, they offer standard european breakfast + omellette / eggs / tortilla is prepared as per request and served hot. All products were fresh and tasty, especially croissants and bread, it is served still warm. The location is very convenient, I’m not sure if it is considered as a city center, but it’s near the port, all nice beaches, restaurants and, most important, free parking. Walking distance from any shop or public place you may want to visit. Personnel was very nice and helpful! The hotel definitely deserves more stars and even higher rating.

This is not a dislike, just a fact - the hotel is located in rather small historical (it seems) building and there are no terraces and balconies, thus it is quite uncomfortable to dry your swimsuits and towels after the beach + air conditioning is not the best. Still it didn’t preclude us from enjoying our stay. The only thing was that the cleaning could have been improved - when we arrived there were empty bottles left from previous guests in the wardrobe. We took them out, put them in the bag and the next morning left the bag on the floor to be thrown out by the staff during daily cleaning. When we came back the bag was still in place though, which was a bit weird. We had to find big rubbish bins on the streeet and take it out ourselves.

When you enter the hotel, it smells wonderful! Clean and spacious room. Good breakfast included in the reasonably priced accommodation. Walking distance to the marina and there was a market on Wednesday morning on the town square.

Nothing negative to say about the hotel but the area has shut down, end of season. We were there 3rd week of October and all restaurants in the village were still closed at 7pm (we were tired and hungry after the day's travel) except for the kebab restaurant that luckily served good pizza and shoarma with chips.

A very nice, sparkling clean place. I thought the room had everything we needed and it was very comfortable. Again, sparkling clean, which I find super important.

There is definitely noise you can hear from the outside, form the corridor, and from other rooms. Personally, I always carry earplugs so it wasn't a problem for me, but if you are sensitive to noise, do keep in mind the thin walls!

Great place to stay, very central to the port. Cafes and restaurants just nearby but the hotel was quiet. The staff were very nice and the breakfast had everything you needed.

Our room was to the inner yard and with bathroom window open there were mosquitos coming in. There was no extractor fan in the bathroom, so a net on the window would be beneficial.

We enjoyed everything about this hotel, cleanliness, staff were amazing with always a smile without any bowing and scraping. The manageress in the dining room for breakfast was so helpful and on the ball, a real professional. The air conditioning was superb in a heatwave. This was an individual hotel and very attractive inside and out, pure Spanish decor. Loved it, totally recommend it.

Only slight downside was hearing the next door guests occasional conversations!

We love La Goleta. We have stayed there 3 times and it is a truly enchanting place. The rooms are delightful , cosy and quiet. The location is perfect, close to the port, the beaches, the restaurants and the bars. We find it so relaxing in this laid back town of Llanca. And the staff are most helpful. Ann

The breakfast seems to have been downgraded since before Covid, as it had been 3 years since we had visited!!!
