Stopped here for one night on our way down to Morocco on motorbikes. Not much to do in Merida (but we did get there quite late) but the Hotel Velada Mérida is easy to find with barriered secure parking next door. Parking is chargeable BUT if you're on a motorcycle, you can squeeze through the barrier (and the staff know it). Room was comfortable and breakfast ample, except there was a coach party who had arrived at the same time as us for breakfast, so there was a bit of a queue. Dinner can be served in their restaurant. Marginally on the expensive side, but it was a good meal. Bar in lobby is a godsend.

Having read quite grim reviews of this hotel on Booking.com and Google.Maps, I did not expect much from it, and was hesitant to book it. It thus came as a nice surprise that I liked it, and found it quite great. The room was huge and clean, and everything was nice and comfy. The furniture was a bit old-fashioned, but overall fine. The sound-proofing of the room wasn't perfect (people making noise in the corridor in the morning were very audible, and if I listen well I could hear a neighbor snoring in the middle of the night), but not the worst I ever experienced, and I had a great sleep. I haven't tried the breakfast.

The hotel is somewhat outside the city center, and its immediate surroundings aren't lively. Sure, it is just ~20 min walk to the downtown, and the area feels safe; but the day I stayed there was quite cold, so when I wanted to go for a drink in the downtown before sleep, it felt quite far, and I did not make it. Though, they have a small bar in the hotel, although not very exciting.

We chose this hotel because we stayed here 13 years ago and really liked it. The location is excellent. The Roman theater and amphitheater are just a pleasant walk away. The staff is friendly and efficient. Very comfortable facilities, room, etc. Convenient parking, although one must pay €8 per day.

The bathroom was quite large and very clean. However, the placement of the shower head is strange: halfway down the tub and facing the side of the tub instead of in the usual place at one end of the tub. Made it rather awkward to shower. We were next door to friends and their bathroom was much smaller. :-( (Apparently, there was a closet in the next room or space that took up some of their bathroom space.)

The staff was VERY friendly and helpful. The room was very clean, everything worked in the room. The location was perfect for seeing the Roman ruins. The bed was very comfortable. The price was very reasonable and the paid parking was convenient, safe and not very expensive.

We had to open the window because the air conditioner would not work. We were told that the hotel doesn't turn on the air conditioners until May or June. Got a bit stuffy and warm in the room when there were no breezes blowing in the window.

Friendly and helpful staff. Receptionist gave us a map and showed us various restaurants where we could eat, within walking distance. The room size was excellent and three chairs plus a sofa, brilliant.

Hotel has a restaurant and cafe. Restaurant wasn't open and although we went into the cafe in the evening there was no one serving.

Our room was beautiful and very spacious with a super king size bed and a huge bathroom with a whirlpool bath. The hotel was in a great location and had a lovely pool area to relax in. Staff were very helpful and the car park was brilliant

We had the best meal at this location It is not a Michelin star place but the food is amazing. The staff was amazing especially the ones at the cafe. You must ask for Rosendo if you are having a meal or drinks at the bar. The room was spacious and with a view. It is a great spot if you are going on tours.

Although it is centrally located you must have some coordinates. it is a transient location in Merida . Not walking distance to museums as it is shown. You will need a taxi

Hotel has excellent facilities as one would expect for a 4* hotel. It's very conveniently sited for all the major sites of interest on Merida.

The hotel decor was tired in places. The terrace was only accessible by steep stairs from the hotel or via a steep ramp outside which was part of the car park access.

Have stayed before and the hotel is clean and comfortable with a lovely pool area. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Breakfast could be better and I prefer a double rather than twin room but I would still recommend this hotel

We had a pleasant one night stay as we were travelling from Santander to the Costa del Sol. Hotel staff were most helpful as we requested a room change. Everything was lovely and clean and the bathroom had a nice shower. There was plenty of choice at breakfast. The hotel is only a short walk away from the lovely town and there are plenty of places to enjoy a meal in the evening. There is a safe car park with shade.
