The property is beautifully decorated, offering a large room with a peaceful beach view. It’s very quiet, making it an ideal place to relax. Upon arrival, we found a note and a bag of Moskovitas (a delicious cookie) on our bed, which was a thoughtful gesture. There is a coffee maker in the room. A complimentary large bottle of water would have been a nice touch to complement it. On a positive note, the breakfast is good, and the restaurant staff are friendly and attentive. Also, the amenities provided are of high quality. Parking is conveniently located at their sister hotel just across the street, which is crucial if you're traveling by car, as parking is very difficult to find anywhere in the village.

Unfortunately, there was in an important downside: the room floor was not properly cleaned. I noticed this because the soles of my white slippers turned black after just one night.

Situated on the promenade by the main beaches, Villa Rosario is an outrageously grand looking building in the Mexican style and has me thinking of the Adams Family every time I look at it. I was enchanted by it when we were here last year and it is as lovely as I had hoped. Check in was charming and parking at the sister hotel across the road is very good. I have an Audi Q5 and the entry to the underground parking is spacious as are the car bays. Our room on the first floor is roomy and comfortable and has the added benefit of a large balcony overlooking the garden and with views of the mountains. The en-suite is also roomy and very smart, and has good quality toiletries, big fluffy towels and a splendid shower. Breakfast is served in the adjoining restaurant which has a Michelin star. As previous reviews suggested that the service was over complicated, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but in reality the service was friendly and efficient and the system of ordering etc is perfectly simple. On arrival we had a basket of fresh breads, cakes etc already on the table along with fresh fruit. There is also a jar of fresh tomato paste for your “Tostada con Tomate”, and toast was brought to us along with our choice of hot beverage. From the simple menu we selected some nicely seasoned cherry tomatoes, bacon and perfectly cooked scrambled eggs. In short, the service and organisation were perfect and our food was delicious. We both enjoy visiting the north of Spain, and Ribadasella is one of our favourite towns. We hope to return on a regular basis and, having discovered this fabulous hotel, Villa Rosario will certainly be our hotel of choice.

Nothing - it was perfect.

Everything! The initial and on-going communication was excellent. The hotel building is an architectural gem with lots of charm. Reception staff were extremely friendly, helpful and efficient. The room allocated had a small balcony on the first floor with a beautiful view over the beach, It was quiet, spacious and comfortable with all the facilities we required. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. The wait staff were very attentive and professional. We left our car in the hotel car park which was an absolute bonus given the nil parking availability around town. Finally, due to our schedule we could only stay one night but it was a delight. When we go back to Ribadesella for longer, we will be staying at Hotel Villa Rosario!

Nothing to dislike!

Superb boutique hotel with a great beach setting on Playa de Santa Marina. We planned to stay one night but extended our stay for two additional nights due to illness. Staff were amazingly kind and helpful in response, providing simple extra meals when I was sick and many small thoughtful acts, like bringing up a kettle and tea bags without being asked. Our room was in the historic old building, a colorful building with great character. Our room was clean and spacious and offered a great view overlooking the beach while providing a lovely background sound of ocean waves. Before the illness, we enjoyed a lovely walk along the beach on a beautiful Spring day. The included breakfast was amazing, with many hot and cold dishes to order. (Their scrambled eggs were not only delicious, but came in a presentation that was a work of art.) We never had supper at the restaurant, but its reputation is renowned. What the hotel offered exceeded our expectations in many dimensions and provided tremendous value. In our view, this is a wonderful place with great hospitality for a stopover if you're travelling across the coastal areas of Northern Spain.

There wasn't a single thing where the hotel came up short.

Loved the building, the location right next to the water and, most especially, the one-star Michelin restaurant. I stayed here two nights to rest up during my Camino walk (and dined at that Michelin restaurant both nights). I had a lovely corner room with views of both the water and the mountains. The bathroom was large. And the breakfast was incredibly good—NOT a buffet but an actual menu of anything you could desire. So delightful to sip a café con leche and devour a lovely breakfast made to order while gazing out at the water. The menu is quite comprehensive and the staff is eager to serve you. I spent part of my free day catching up on things back home, seated at the lovely desk in my room!

I wish the room included a coffee maker and/or tea.

What a wonderful hotel in a wonderful location. It was a rare treat to stay in this old mansion with its gourmet breakfasts and balcony with ocean view. The room itself was just “nice,” nothing special except its location and view, with a bigger than usual bathroom. The location and ambiance and breakfast and staff were what made it extra special.

It would have been nice to have access to a cup of tea or coffee in the room or lobby in the afternoon or evening.

Room 102 faced south rather than seaward however it was comfortable with a huge balcony with table, two chairs and two deck chairs. Sadly in the rain we could not use these! Built in the garden is a modern restaurant with a Michelin star. Whilst we could not afford to dine there, the waiter-served breakfast was very good.

Two minor complaints: The only electric plugs in the bedroom were for the bedside table lamps and no plugs by the desk (luckily we do carry a selection of adaptors); also no shelving in the bathroom for toiletries.

This is a stunning old mansion in a wonderful position. We opted for a room with no view but some would have great views. The included breakfast was wonderful. unfortunately the restaurant was not open when we were there.

I was a bit unhappy about the short notice given by the hotel about the restaurant being closed. Also, the coffee at breakfast was very poor. I'm sure having properly made coffee wouldn't be too much to ask.

Villa Rosario was an exceptional hotel in every aspect. It is gorgeous inside and out. Located on the beach and the beautiful long promenade, one couldn't ask for a better or more stunning location. The hotel rooms were amazing - spacious and very well equipped. High end furnishings. Breakfast was superb. There is free covered and/or uncovered parking. I have looked forward to staying at Villa Rosario for several years and now that it has occurred, I cannot wait to return. This area of Asturias is charming.

Absolutely nothing.

This is a beautifully maintained old building with an amazing location right beside the beach. The staff were warm and welcoming. It was our luxury splurge on our last day of the Camino this year. It’s right on the Camino, so lovely to see pilgrims leaving in the morning. The breakfast was amazing… super fresh and a wide selection. The staff I the whole hotel were very attentive and helpful!
