It’s a beautiful parador in a castle setting. Lovely rooms with wooden shutters and tile floors. There was a bathtub as well! The bed was so firm that I wanted just to stay in the whole time and sleep.

The walls were surprisingly thin. I could hear my neighbors. The buffet breakfast is expensive (19 euros), though it offers cava and fresh orange juice. However, they didn’t have an a la carte item promised on the menu. The two men in the breakfast room seemed overworked. The pool was not usable while there so it shouldn’t be so prominently displayed.

What did you like?... Where to start. Well, this Parador sits atop of a hill, overlooking the city of Tortosa, Amazing view. Couldn't believe we were staying here, very surreal. The room was 5 stars comfortable and clean. Very friendly staff and very accommodating as well. Had a balcony overlooking the city. Just sitting out on the balcony with your morning coffee was one of the highlights of staying there. Two thumbs up!!!!! for sure. Would definitely stay here again.

Nothing bad about the Parador. But....I was surprise of the number of foreign resident, in this small town. Didn't feel like, you were in Spain.

Extremely strict no-smoking policy everywhere, even outside on the terrace, where drinks are served. The hotel was well-maintained, and cleanliness was excellent. Parking area convenient. Bed was comfortable. The high-ceilinged restaurant was elegant and interesting; tables well-spaced, allowed for intimate conversations.

The lack of sound insulation, conversations in neighbouring rooms and above could be easily heard. The shower was in the (narrow) bath. It's an historic building, which doesn't allow for a lot of natural light (summers in Spain are so hot, this is deliberately done to keep the rooms cool).

What a superb parador! A great heritage structure that's been meticulously, lovingly restored. High standards of everything: linens, products, service. The restaurant is wonderful, the menu traditional and brilliantly executed, as is the table service. Very impressed at this first Spanish parador stay. It speaks highly of the paradors in general, and makes us want to visit more of them ...

It's a steep-ish climb to the parador from the town of Tortosa ... but then, that's part of why the parador is wonderful: the views over the town and the valley.

Stunning views . Hotel and staff were lovely. Free parking . Rooms were clean . Catered for my wife, who is gluten-free, excellent choices.

No lift to third floor . To access the pool, it was via metal staircase at the rear of the hotel. Or lift to ground floor and walk round. No use for any person with a disability. . To walk into town, it was a hike. But we already knew that. . Parking in town was very limited 😕

For us, it was the first time to stay in a Parador and we were really impressed. It started with a handicapped parking just beside the entrance, a room close to the elevator and a fantastic view from the balcony over the city and the river to the mountains. Although the hotel was almost fully booked, there was a relaxed atmosphere all over. Everybody was very friendly and helpful. The dinner in the restaurant was a very nice experience. Breakfast was of good quality, too. The nicely decorated room was spacious with a large bathroom and comfortable beds.

We would have preferred to have a shower instead of the bath tub, but all rooms have bath tubs. In relation to the number of guests the breakfast room was a bit too small. Therefore, it was quite busy and loud at the peak times. During the week it is probably more quiet than on weekends.

This property was over-the-top in many ways. Impeccably outfitted with all the fascinating furnishings and decor that one would expect of a former residence of a Moorish king. We upgraded our room so we had lots of space, lots of windows (that look out over the Erba River valley). It was breath-taking. The location on the hilltop brought the history of the residence to life and the location above the town allowed for an enjoyable visit to the cathedral.

The staff is doing their best... But we noticed that it could be sometimes difficult to get the attention of the dinner staff. They weren't rude, just seemingly overwhelmed. And curiously at breakfast they have a tiny coffee machine. It takes capsules so it was self-serve but seemed terribly small and slow to accommodate a large group of people.

Overall we enjoyed our stay: Lounge, breakfast, acccommodations and views were all good.

There are no additional entrances to guest rooms. All guests must enter and leave through main reception area; very inconvenient. Many other guests felt the same. Pool door isn't clearly labeled: locked out if opened and closed behind. We had to bother a nice lady to let us back in. Also, bathroom maintenance is required: shower head should be fixed, water leaks to outside door and mold on tile grout.

It had a beautiful view, stately interior and was quiet.

We were not made aware of the construction around the hotel that made access very difficult without a car. The very steep pedestrian climb to the hotel was brutal. They could have offered a shuttle service for their guests without vehicles. We felt that the reception staff were not very welcoming. Even though the outside air temperature hit almost 30 C, the air conditioning was not functioning.

The room was super with a balcony overlooking the gardens and city. The Parador itself was gorgeous with a swimmimg pool and outdoor bar if you wished. The bar snacks were deleicious.

All the staff throughout the Parador were lovely except for the bar staff where the service was completely inadequate. It took 40 minutes each night, from entering the bar, to get served with drinks. The bar staff all appeared disinterested in any form of positive customer care. When the bar opened for food at 8'00/8.30pm the servers there were very much better.
