Nice bedroom, clean and views to the local square and church. Centrally located to visit the Northern coastline, Lugo and Coruna. Bath was a bonus, as was the safe and fridge. Also free bottled water. Also some nice local walks along the river

Walls paper thin and could heat lots of noise from neighbouring bedrooms. Breakfast was ok, but lacked variety after being there for over a week. Choice in restaurant very limited. The local town offers very little with many buildings derelict and boarded up. Disappointed not to have been accommodated in the castle as that is what we wrongly assumed we had booked.

We recently stayed at this beautiful hotel and were very impressed by its charm. The room was spacious, extremely comfortable, and had a lovely view overlooking the old square.

However, our experience was disrupted when we were woken up in the middle of the night by a terrible noise – the garbage truck was collecting trash right under our window. It would have been helpful if the reception had informed us about this, as it could have prepared us or given us the chance to ask for a quieter room. Additionally, if you prefer communicating via email, you might want to reconsider. The hotel’s response rate is very poor, and they didn’t seem particularly service-oriented when it came to addressing inquiries beforehand. A beautiful place overall, but there’s room for improvement in guest communication and consideration.

We stayed in the new section of the parador, not in the tower--I'm curious if the rooms are the same. Our room was very clean and comfortable with a view of the square. Others in our party had a street view. Air conditioning was welcomed! There were common spaces on each floor for gathering, and we enjoyed the outdoor and indoor bar areas. The breakfast buffet was very good, as was our dinner. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Parking was always available in the church square next door. It was close to markets, shopping and restaurants.

If you're looking for significant historical sights other than churches or activities other than shopping, you'll have to go beyond the town.

I was looking forward to a nicer place during my camino and it was ok but not really what I expected from a 4star place. The room was big with a nice view to the small plaza and both, the bedroom and bathroom were very clean.

My room smelled of stale smoke even though I aired it all day (I should have asked for a different room which I didn’t) and the furniture was quite worn. I was really hoping to use their sauna but they informed me I have to pay for that privilege. Never heard of a higher end hotel that asked guests to pay using their own facilities. Also, wait staff was extremely slow or maybe they didn’t have enough staff.

Excellent property, great value. Large room with double balcony doors, light and airy. View of church. Two sitting chairs and round table. Comfortable beds, very quiet area. A/C was available but not used. Good sized bathroom with double sinks and bath to soak in for Camino travellers. Delicious dinner and again great value. Central location. Would recommend and stay there again.

Creaky wood floors but we didn’t find this a problem.

This is probably one of the best value paradors I’ve stayed in. Large, comfortable, quiet rooms and an extensive buffet breakfast make for a little bit of luxury on the Camino

Nothing but I think they could make more of the main bar area which wasn’t very inviting, the part of the bar in the extension was nicer

Location is great. It was quiet. Clean and comfortable large rooms. Staff was great; very polite and very professional. I would return.

I got dinner and breakfast and, after having stayed at other Paradores in the 'before times' (pre-COVID), I was unimpressed. I felt like the microwave led the kitchen. I would not recommend the meal program.

Coming from the Camino del Norte into a lovely 4-star hotel is quite an adjustment but one we managed with pleasure. The staff were all very professional but also very friendly and helpful. Everything was clean and fresh, and the insignia stamped on everything—including the monogrammed pillowcases—just added to the joy of our stay. The food in the bar and the dining room was delicious. The price per night was excellent, and the pilgrims discount in the restaurant much appreciated.

Beautiful property and very helpful and friendly staff. We had dinner at the restaurant and the sardine toast was one of the most delicious meals I ate in Spain! The waiter forgot to bring one of the glasses of wine and so gave us free coffee at the end of the meal. We felt treated and taken care of during our stay here and would highly recommend! It not only is an experience because of the beauty and history of the property, but also due to the friendly staff who work here!

we booked dinner bed and breakfast, and both the dinner and the breakfast were exceptional. The staff were friendly and helpful and made our stay a delight. The quality of the hotel is more important in winter when you spend more time indoors and we were not disappointed.

There was no information available without asking. A map of the town, the prices of drinks in the minibar, other services the hotel offered etc. I'm sure that this was to do with covid and the staff were very happy to tell us what we wanted to know but I would have preferred to have more information available.
