We stayed at Whiskey Point during low season and for two nights we had the place all for ourselves. The atmosphere was awesome and despite of staying only for three nights, we felt like family with the staff guys. They had really helpful tips for us. One of our kids best memories of the entire trip is making Pizza in the wood fired pizza oven at Whiskey Point. The Pizza by the way was really good. I also imagine this to be a nice and quieter place during high season compared to Arugam Bay. At the same time Arugam Bay is only a short TukTuk ride away and easy to reach for a snack or surf session. We would definitely come back

We had an incredible stay at Whisky Point in December and want to extend our heartfelt thanks to Annushka and Nicola for being extraordinary hosts. They went above and beyond to make our experience unforgettable. Their staff was also exceptionally friendly and attentive. The beachfront house was amazing, offering a peaceful retreat even during the off-season. Despite visiting in December, we enjoyed a variety of activities, including an excellent yaga class with annushka, a lagoon tour, a safari, and a trip to Elephant Rock. Each adventure was well-organized and added a unique touch to our holiday. The food was outstanding—authentic Italian dishes with delicious pizza, superb coffee, and a fantastic breakfast that we could enjoy either by the sea, at the restaurant or in the comfort of our room. The entire team ensured everything was perfect. The property itself was immaculately maintained, creating a serene and inviting atmosphere. Highlights of our stay included an evening bonfire by the beach and a cozy movie night, both of which made our time there extra special. Everyone truly went the extra mile to take care of us. We highly recommend Whisky Point for anyone seeking a combination of relaxation, adventure, and warm hospitality. Thank you again, Anushka, Nikola, and the team, for a wonderful experience!

The highlight of our stay was the incredible food and drinks. The iced tea was the best we’ve ever tasted, and the pizza was absolutely divine! Every bite and sip transported us to a place of pure bliss. Whisky Point Resort truly feels like a little paradise nestled within an already paradise-like island. It's a small resort situated right on the beach. With very few guests, there’s ample space for solitude. You can fully unwind, being close to nature, with everything designed to help you feel grounded. The couple who own the place go above and beyond to ensure you have the best possible stay.

Be mindful of which type of cabana you book. Some are enclosed and have private bathrooms, while others are open and have shared facilities. Both options work well. We stayed in the open cabanas and enjoyed it a lot.

This is by far the best accommodation we’ve been to in Sri Lanka. Even though some people avoid this area during February as it’s considered low season, we had the best experience. It was quiet, sunny and relaxing. Anna and Nicolo are the best hosts and help out with whatever you need; surfing, safari, transport, etc. Their restaurant has delicious traditional pizza, pasta and more. Besides that, we saw a whole range of wildlife in the area, including free roaming elephants and crocodiles. After 3 nights I decided to extend my stay in Sri Lanka and come back for another full week at Whisky Point. Thank you so much for this wonderful experience!

If you’re looking for buzzing restaurants and nightlife or many other tourists around you, this area might be a bit too quiet.

Whisky Point is the perfect tropical paradise. Quiet and huge beach, lovely garden, comfortable bungalows and delicious food. We absolutely enjoyed every moment of our stay. First, we want to compliment the staff and especially the owners. Nicola and Anna made our stay to a magical time. We enjoyed the morning yoga and swing yoga classes with Anna. She is an absolute optimist and inspired us with her attitude to life. Nicolas way of organizing helped us to have an easy and uncomplicated time. They also organized everything from surfing lessons to a special birthday trip and treated us like family. We never had such amazing hosts. Everyone else working there was professional, open minded and extremely friendly. If you want to have more of a party vibe - just rent a scooter (Nicola or Anna can organize one) and have a short scooter trip to arugam bay. There you’ll find a lot of restaurants and bars. We think there is no such place in Sri Lanka where you can enjoy a quiet beach, such beautiful surrounding but be still nice connected to another city. We are looking forward to visit whisky point again!

We just stayed for 5 days - definitely we should have stayed longer.

We didn't want to leave, what an amazing place to stay - it looks even more incredible than the photos. Nicola and Anna are so welcoming, kind and knowledgeable about the area. Mufaris, Murthala and all the team at whisky point are incredibly helpful and attentive. There are great waves for surfing both for beginner and intimidate just 15 minute walk down the beach at Pottuvil point. We found it an incredibly accessible location for all the main beaches but are so pleased we opted for Whisky Point over Arugam Bay as it was much quieter and relaxed which suited us well - we loved being able to fall asleep to the sound of the waves. The food on site is great, and there are good options for reseraunts serving Sri Lankan food and fish dishes just a short walk away. We hope to come back again one day, thanks again for such a wonderful stay!

We loved the stay! The location, the cabins, the yoga, the beach, the food, the staff … it was very nice!! They where very helpfull if you want to go for a surf or other trips.

However, upon leaving, we were a little disappointed in two things: - don't book on Fridays. You're not sleeping! Next to the hotel is a nightclub on Fridays. Your bed is in the club that night. We and the other guests did NOT sleep. The owners can't do anything about it 😞 and fighting against the owners of the club. - You pay a price for the setting and concept, which is wonderful. But at other places we had a pool, shampoo and shower gel and air conditioning included for that price. Its a bit overpriced.

From the moment you arrive at this property your hosts Nicola and Anna and their team will be looking after you. Their spirit of hospitality permeates the whole resort and they are always ready to help find the things you need, like transport, tours etc. in our case, we wanted to enjoy the wonderful location right on the beach and enjoy the relaxing sound of waves and the wind in the palm trees, so we didn’t go too far. Pottuvil point is 10-15 minutes walk away and is an excellent wave when the swell is up, there is also good swimming out the front if you are comfortable with the swell. Food was better than expected considering it’s all European (they can order in local rice and curry if you’d like), the pizzas are real Neapolitan style, and we enjoyed a sunset spritz before dinner in the evenings. Upper cabana had a view of the ocean from inside and a great balcony for lounging, the bed was really comfortable and the few mosquitos kept at bay by the net. We had a very relaxing few days and would happily go back if we were in Sri Lanka again, it’s great value for money. Note that this part of the coast is a fair way from Arugam Bay and all the tourist action, to us this was a positive but if you’re looking for nightlife this isn’t the place.

Noise in the upper cabana impacts the lower cabana underneath, so we were conscious that a young couple with a baby underneath could hear us stomping around, closing doors etc. Not unexpected and we wouldn’t expect soundproofing in this kind of environment but it’s something to consider if privacy is important.

Whisky point is such a special place and I am so glad that I stayed here. The resort itself is beautiful and the perfect place to escape and disconnect. The staff are all amazing and very welcoming. As a solo female traveller I felt very at home and could have stayed much longer. The food is also delicious, from pasta to pizza and homemade banana bread! The first couple of days I was working remotely and I found it very comfortable with good wifi. After that I spent most of my time relaxing on the beach and enjoying the peaceful tranquility and good vibes. I 100% recommend.
