Our stay at this wooden cabin in Ella was absolutely wonderful! The location is perfect, close to the center but still surrounded by nature, giving it a peaceful and serene vibe. The room was spotlessly clean and even more spacious and beautiful than the pictures on Booking show. The host was incredibly kind and welcoming, making sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. One of the highlights of our visit was the playful monkeys hopping around the property and even coming onto our balcony – it truly added a magical touch to our experience. This place is a little paradise nestled in the jungle, and we would recommend it to anyone looking for a tranquil escape in Ella. We can’t wait to come back!

This was such a gorgeous little cabin. It was like a tree house in the middle of the jungle. We had to cross a liilte wooden bridge (like something from a fantasy novel) to enter the room. The room was large with wooden furnishings, a huge balcony with a table and chairs, and a nicer bathroom than I expected of budget accommodation. We ordered breakfast as an add on cost and it was worth it. But be careful, the monkeys were keen for some, and we thought they might jump onto the table, but they kept their distance in the end. Beds were comfortable.

Nothing I didn't like, but you should note that there isn't a reception area and you need to message the owners on whatsapp to check in. Also, there is no air conditioning, but it's cooler in Ella so we didn't think that was an issue. Also make sure you have insect repellent.

The accom is basic (there’s no kettle or mini fridge and the shower is hand held and doesn’t quite sit in the holding cradle properly) BUT it’s such a lovely experience that none of that matters. You are close to the main town area so can get everything you need. There is a steep climb to the accom but once you’ve been to Ella you’ll realise there is a sleep climb to pretty much every accomodation. Again. It’s thoroughly worth it. Sleeping in the forest the sounds of the night are soothing. Sitting on the verandah is lovely. Wifi works well. The staff are absolutely fabulous. Ashin was friendly and seemingly nothing was too much trouble. He cooked a lovely homemade meal, organised a scooter for us, and had plenty of answers to our questions. This place is great value for money if you’re looking for a different experience.

The property is beautiful and has the most amazing balcony. The staff was so attentive and always answering our requests very quickly and kindly. The food was very tasty too, all vegetarian. We also did a sunrise hike with them, which was a really nice experience.

The monkeys were really insisting on coming on our balcony, even when the blinds were closed. At times we had 5 at once, jumping around and doing their business there. One monkey even raided our room while we were away. In some moments we didn’t feel very comfortable or relaxed because of this.

Basically living in a treehouse with a view of the jungle. Location set in the middle of the trees, very private and you feel immersed in nature. Everything was thoughtfully designed and very comfortable, and very clean. Despite being in the forest, there was a surprising lack of mosquitoes or wildlife, and I passed a very comfortable night, with breakfast on the balcony. The hotel also arranged a massage with their partner at Hela Osu down the road which was paid as part of the room fee.

Breakfast is not included in the room rate, fyi. The facilities are v comfortable but missing a hairdryer, and at night, the room lighting is quite dark.

We loved our room and the view it offered. It was really a little jungle escape not far from the centre. The staff were really helpful and friendly. They made sure they were always reachable and we got an answer always within minutes. Ashen was really friendly and helpful and attented to our every need. The nature vibe of the room and bathroom we liked very much.

If you want to walk to the lodge, the way to get there is a bit steep. We didn't really mind, but if you are not up for a bit of a leg workout, we recommend a tuktuk or to rent a scooter

Loved the location! Feels like you’re in the forest! The room was delightful! Woodcraft but at the same time the bathroom was renovated to a modern style. Clean and simple. The hoste was super nice and helpful. We only stayed there for half day since we were exploring Sri Lanka and changing many hotels but we really loved it! Definitely recommend it for more than one day to relax and enjoy the view!

If I didn’t like one thing is that there are no curtains, which allows the light in so you cannot sleep in during the day. Also have in mind that the Ella train passes from there and makes a lot of noise.

Once we stepped through the entryway for the property, we felt like we'd entered an oasis. The view from the balcony was particularly stunning. We enjoyed sitting out there during our downtime. Since it's an ecolodge, we were expecting only cold water, so we were pleasantly surprised with the hot showers. The staff (Kavin and Janith) were very welcoming and helpful. Organizing breakfast and tours through the hotel was a breeze on WhatsApp. I appreciate that they sent a lot of information ahead of time, so we had plenty of time to think over potential activities.

The GPS pin for the hotel on Google was slightly off, so if you don't see the hotel name at the location it sends you to, just walk a few more paces around the corner. The five-minute walk from the main road starts with a steep uphill section. It does eventually plateau though. We didn't mind the walk, but if it's a concern, you can always take a tuk tuk.

This is an unusual set of three treehouses five minutes walk from Ella or a quick Tuktuk ride. It is unusual- hand built of timber and concrete bathroom- very big steps down to the rooms so not suitable if unsteady on your feet. The staff were lovely and very accommodating- carried another table into our room in the pouring rain so that we could eat all together. Delicious Breakfast of fruit and coconut pancakes was included and they organised delicious dinner of curry and rice for us too. Short walk to the train line if you wanted to watch them go past

Very private, very clean, great view of the nature plus watching the monkeys in the morning, nice surroundings, nice architecture, very thoughtful about being eco friendly. If you have a dream about sleeping in an typical jungle wooden bungalow that’s your stay. Ashen served us amazing (vegan!!!) meals adapted to our needs. He is such an open minded and loving host. We loved his energy and having him around.

Because of the high humidity and the mass amount of rain (rain season) the sheets and pillows were a bit smelly. Luckily we brought our own so there was no problem.
