I had a wonderful experience at this hotel. It was impeccably clean and well-maintained. The room size was generous, providing a comfortable stay. Without a doubt, the breakfast surpassed all our expectations, ranking as the best we've had during our time in Sri Lanka! I wholeheartedly recommend staying here. The staff members were not only delightful but also incredibly helpful, enhancing our overall enjoyment of the stay.

Overall, our stay at the hotel was exceptional. The only drawback was the relatively small size of the bathroom. Additionally, there was a discrepancy in the currency we were charged, as we were expecting to pay in dollars as indicated on Booking.com but were instead billed in Sri Lanka currency. Despite these minor issues, our experience was overwhelmingly positive.

Even though there is a steep hill to walk up (u can always get a Tuk Tuk) to get to Onrock Hotel, we loved the location as it’s so centrally located to the High Street shops, restaurants & fabulous cafes; Little Adam’s Peak; Nine Arch Bridge; Ella’s Rock; etc The staff very friendly nothing is a problem for them they are so accommodating. We can’t thank Karvinda enough as he organised everything for us from a great Tuk Tuk driver Thiru; recommended a great massage place; advised and organised all our activities - we absolutely loved our stay here, it was comfortable and easy. We will definitely be back.

Unfortunately up a steep hill which is not good for elderly or disabled to take a walk The bedding was firm ok for those that enjoy this type of bedding

The view from the room was amazing, we were lucky enough to get upgraded to a room in fourth floor. Staff were very attentive and ready to help us in anything we needed, from laundry to local food recommendations and sightseeing. Location of the hotel was a 5-minute walk from the restaurants and main Ella area. Our customer service manager Ajey was super professional, attentive and very easy to deal with. He added a personal touch, understanding our needs and catering to them, which made the stay even more unforgettable. The breakfast options were amazingly good including local and international food. They also had an egg station which exceeded our expectations!

To get to the hotel, there is a steep road which sometimes can be a bit tiring. However the view was totally worth it

Nice clean room with amazing view and the room was cleaned everyday Very friendly staff and there was always someone you could ask if you had a problem Breakfast was very good. You always had to choose between western and sri lankan but at the end it seemed like it would not really matter which one we would choose as it was always kind of the same. Really liked the coconut pancakes and vegetable sandwiches!

On booking there is a picture where it seems that you could have breakfast on a roof-top-terrace which is misleading as there is nothing like that only a construction site. Restaurant also has no terrace or anything like that. Value for money (a little bit too expensive) the door to our room and to the bathroom made awful loud sounds when opening and closing them. Little more variety would be great for breakfast

Everything!!! Despite being at the top of a very steep slope the location is great and you can easily get up/down by foot or tuk-tuk. The room, balcony, bed, bathroom, etc are all a great size and the views really are spectacular! The staff were very passionate about what you could see from the view, giving you advice of where to go for hikes, drink/food, and to 9 arches of course. 9 arches is an easy 25 minutes walk from the hotel or you can get transport there! We would recommend little Adam's Peak and staying at least 2 nights (we only did one) as there is so much more to do and see... including a couple of zip lines, a bar/pool next to Adams peak you could spend the day at, shops, bars, plenty of walks, etc.

That we only stayed one night!!! We should have stayed longer :)

One word: excellent. Staff, room, food. The view from the room (OMG breathtaking)

There was nothing that I didn’t like.

Ella gap view and water fall view were beautiful from balcony, also enjoyed the sun set and sun rise views from balcony. The room is well arranged, having ample space and cleaned as well. We enjoyed the breakfast with a variety of good foods including western and Sri Lankan cuisines including nice deserts. Felt one night was not enough to enjoy what we got there.

Due to shower cubicle sliding door design, water drips out a bit from shower cubicle and it wets the bathmat, however it was not an issue for us. A little distraction to balcony view due to power distribution post with transformer.

The staff went above expectations to meet our arrival,the manager and his door staff wouldn’t allow us to move our luggage as that was their job,as we are guests.We were made sooooo welcome by the manager and his staff,and what a stunning lookout over Ella Rock and Adam’s Peak.We have been shown the Roof Top Terrace with an infinity pool that opens in 7 months.We have booked the top room for the opening week of festivities next year. The Lighting in very poor.We couldn’t see our face to shave in the mirror.The manager immediately arrived with a plug in lamp,he was fantastic.

The Hotel Onrock is a very good hotel with wonderful staff. The breakfast, buffet has a lot of choice to cover all personal preferences. The Hotel is well maintained. The bedroom was very good, cleaned daily to a high standard. View over the hills was exceptional. Evening meals can be ordered via a delivery service supplied by the hotel. Not too far away from the train station, but it is a hike up a very steep hill to the hotel entrance so a Tuk Tuk is advisable to get there. Walking down the hill is no mean feat but if you are capable, then it is ok. If going to the 9 arches bridge for a photo shoot, I advise taking the Tuk Tuk - not go through the forest route by foot as there are many leeches on the way. Other places to visit also by Taxi or Tuk Tuk.

The hike up the hill to the hotel, but nothing else comes to mind.
