Nice view on Kandy lake, nice rooms. Awesome Rooftop pool. Friendly Staff, have been served by Nuwan on first day breakfast, he is doing a great job, takes care of you and is very friendly.

There is no A/C in the restaurant, therefore it is already very hot during breakfast. High Tea was not available while it was advertised in the room booklet. There was no buffet breakfast and unfortunately on the swcond day the breakfast staff was more busy with the manager than with the guests. Overall I think it is a nice hotel but a bit overpriced.

I had a booking at another hotel and they canceled. So, I had in matter of urgency to find a acomodation. I found a new listing- The trees hotel. I booked and I am happy I did that. This hotel it is much better than first one that was canceled. Better location, service, staff, food. I liked very much the room is amazing, view is the best and of course food-delicious. The staff is very nice. Guys prepared an wonderful evening on Christmas for us. I wish all the best to The Trees team and hotel.

We loved staying at The Trees Kandy. It's a gorgeous, new, and well maintained modern hotel. The view from our room overlooked the lake and was lovely to wake up to each day. The roof of the hotel has a great large infinity pool on the same side, we spent a sunny afternoon lounging here and never tired of the view. The staff were very friendly and hospitable. We had something at the restaurant each day which also never disappointed.

The bed was a little hard for my personal taste although I still slept well. The light switches are a little confusing in the room, maybe too many options 😆 although with a little persistence you can get the lighting "just right"

The location of this hotel was excellent and the views from the balcony and pool were outstanding. The room was very clean and comfortable. The restaurant and bar area were very well designed and we really liked the natural feel of the hotel. All staff were friendly and attentive. We also had a lovely dinner - the Sri Lankan options were especially very good. We’d highly recommend staying in this hotel - especially for the poolside views over Kandy!

The facilities that the hotel did have were excellent. However, it didn’t offer a gym or spa which is surprising for a hotel of this quality and price.

Jaw droppingly beautiful coupled with incredibly friendly staff is what you can expect from this fabulous hotel. From the moment of our arrival, we were shown such incredible hospitality, warmth and friendliness. Staff here clearly pride themselves on the high levels of service they provide and this was apparent from both reception and waiting staff during breakfast and dinner. Breakfast is substantial with a wide variety of choice and served in an attentive but unobtrusive manner. We had a 7am start during our stay and the breakfast staff went to the trouble of providing us with a breakfast hamper of sandwiches, fruit and pastries to take with us. We took dinner by the pool on 2 evenings and service too is incredibly friendly and efficient - a special mention must go to our waiter Dashan who ensured everything was kept up to the mark on both evenings. Whilst the hotel does not have an alcohol licence it does serve wine and beer and Dashan ensure the white wine was chilled before serving it. Another special mention must go to the luggage porter who not only assisted me twice with reopening the safe in my room and subsequently gave me a tutorial on how to operate it (there were no written instructions) but also provided me with his own personal umbrella (a tip to the hotel might be to have umbrellas for guests). From check-in to check-out our stay was sublime and having had a nose around some other hotels in Kandy whilst there I can honestly say we made the correct choice by staying at The Trees. We will definitely return to stay here again. Quite simply I can only provide you two words - stay here!

The Trees is an absolutely beautiful hotel which feels incredibly luxurious (which was especially welcome after a week of travelling). The staff here were so friendly and welcoming and couldn't help us enough. I asked if they could arrange a last minute TukTuk for us and it arrived almost immediately. They also arranged a TukTuk to the train station for us which arrived promptly (just a note that if you've prebooked your train tickets you really don't need to get to the station more than 10 minutes in advance!). Rooftop pool area was especially beautiful with a great view over Kandy Lake. Overall, we had a great stay and would definitely recommend

A few small things: - The beds are very hard, definitely the hardest we've experienced so far in Sri Lanka. - Totally unsure on how the electrics are wired but the lights/ switches in the room were an enigma to try and figure out (Some never turned off, other switches had seemingly no purpose, a few lights changed which switch they were controlled by) - The WiFi is very patchy in the rooms - We had a view overlooking the lake (a beautiful room) but it's not well soundproofed so there was quite a lot of noise that woke us up very early

The hotel overall was really nice, the pool was good, the staff was incredibly friendly and the rooms were super clean, good water pressure and hot water. Like usually, the service was rather slow but really friendly and helpful and trying their best. Also the lake view was stunning. The drinks at the pool bar were great and the bartenders very nice.

It is a little bit of walking distance down the hill to get to the city, but for us, that was no problem. The food was okay, but not amazing. I would suggest eating somewhere else. Also, the café was already closed by 6pm when we wanted to get something from there while they claim to be open until 7pm.

A beautiful new hotel with lovely views. Very modern and clean with a decent breakfast offering. The room was comfortable and well appointed. The staff were very pleasant.

The check in process took over 50 minutes even though we arrived after 2pm. When we arrived we requested two rooms on the same floor to which the staff said sure. What they didn't explain was that it would take an additional 50 minutes to prepare the rooms to see to our request. If we had known that we wouldn't have asked for the same floor in the first place as we had just come off a 5 hr drive and were very tired. Also it's a bit cheeky to only provide two complimentary bottles of water when every other hotel we stayed in provided much much more for a family of four, especially considering you can't drink the tap water.

Great location, close to city centre with views over the lake. Stylish interior with lots of wood, which creates a nice environment. The pool/bar on the the roof gave fantastic views of the city and was a lovely place to relax. Breakfast was good and we had an evening meal (black pork curry and nasi goreng) which was excellent and very reasonably priced. Helpful and friendly staff.

It’s a minor thing, but as we were in the heart of Sri Lanka’s tea country it would have been nice to have a ‘proper’ pot of tea at breakfast rather than the dreaded tea bag on a string.
