Very friendly owners & staff. They made us feel at home from the moment we entered. We loved our room with beautiful classic touches. The bed was super comfortable and the room has a Nespresso machine, which we like for our morning coffee. The restaurant is superbe; very much recommended (also with a few delicious vegetarian & vegan options). Breakfast was indulging. Compliments to the Chef and his/her team ♥️ Ambiance is great! Lots of eye for detail and subtle touches of romance every where. We were here in wintertime, which is very cosy and for sure summertime here must be wonderful too, with the lake only a few steps away (3-5 minute walk). Made our morning walk before breakfast and enjoyed the views and crispy air in the early morning sun. We are looking forward to come back soon!

This place is a true gem and Sabrina and Pascal are the best hosts I've ever met (and there have been quite a few). The hotel is full of charm and history. It's well maintained, clean, great wifi connection. Luxurious duvets for our unexpected snowy stay mid-April. Super breakfast, strong, fresh coffee and personalised, connection based treatment as guests. Great location within Horgen too, close to all transport links and amenities. Highly recommended.

Location was excellent! Staff excellent. Ambience excellent. Beautiful decorations. Nice and warm! Breakfast was very good- a nice selection of cold and cooked options and nicely presented. Great staff. Ideally would like some butter for bread or toast but maybe this is usual for Switzerland. Coffee nice too. The hotel was beautifully decorated with Christmas tree, and lots of lovely touches. Hotel was nice and warm. The staff were delightful and were around most of the time. We had a great welcome and really felt looked after. The bedroom (17 or 19?) was slightly small and not particularly great, slightly dull lighting. However bed very comfortable with beautiful cotton bed linen. Only issue we had ( which staff did address) was that there was a lot of low-level noise and vibration from the kitchen air-con, in the evening and even overnight on first night. This was quite substantial. The staff assured us it would be switched off earlier at night, but I think this possibly needs a definite resolution. If we visit again, will ask for a room in a different position to avoid kitchen air-con issue. We found the hotel a little expensive but good value for a quality experience. We have a very positive view of our lovely stay there. Horgen itself was also delightful.

We booked a 5 day trip for my birthday, which was the 2nd day. We went down to breakfast, and our table was decorated with birthday serviettes and glitter. Totally unexpected as hotels on previous birthday trips didn't even mention it. It was a lovely touch, which was much appreciated, and was an example of Pascal and Sabrina's thoughtfulness and willingness to help with any advice or extras we may have needed.

The only reason for Value for Money rating is due to the Swiss Franc being much stronger than the British Pound. Not the hotel's fault !

Great location, in the middle of the old village, very cute. Atmospheric and romantic. Host was friendly and carried my very heavy bag up 3 floors. There is also a very nice restaurant just downstairs, with fountain in the middle of it, it was relaxing to have a dinner next to it heading the sound of the running water. Stuff was attentive and food was great! I recommend for a romantic getaway ❤️

Shower curtain could be new, it doesn’t cost a leg but would make a difference. I appreciated L’occitane shower gel, shampoo, body cream and hand soap.

Hotel Schwan is in a wonderful old building converted to a tavern and hotel many years ago. It is presently undergoing an ownership transition, and the new owners are doing their very best to continue to accommodate their guests, and we wish them well. We had great difficulty finding the property, as our (Apple) GPS would not get us close, since it is in a pedestrian area. Better signage and some guidance would help, although my guess is that it's easier to find the location coming from the north. Unfortunately we did not. While there is convenient vehicular access to unload practically at the hotel doorstep, the only opportunity to park is a nearby covered garage which charges a nominal fee. Breakfast was provided and it was ample, tasty and fresh. Their nightly fee (booking.com) was fair and a good value. Our guess is that the very graceful new owners will bring this hotel to a new standard very quickly, but rates may change to reflect that in the future. At present, our room was fine, bordering on upscale. please note that the hotel has several flights of stairs and no elevator. No real problem for us though. thanks for a great stay!

Perfect location in the picturesque village, a short downhill walk to the station, shops, and the lake. Very friendly and helpful staff, peaceful and relaxing atmosphere in this historic hotel. Lovely outside seating area where you can enjoy a drink in the sunshine, accompanied by the church bells. Attractive bar and restaurant area, plenty of choice at breakfast. Good sized bedroom and comfortable bed. We always look forward to staying at the Schwan!

Welcoming , competent, very friendly and very helpful staff, comfortable warm atmosphere , well appointed bedroom and bathroom even though layout of the very old building is challenging , extremely convenient for the rail transport location,

Nothing comes to mind although someone with limited mobility might find an absence of lift inconvenient

We enjoyed with my wife and my parents this beautiful hotel and the surrounding area a lot, in a nice and quiet location. Really amazing looking design everywhere and the breakfast was also perfect. The staff was extra kind and helpful, they even sent my sunglass with the post to me after I left it by accident in the room by checkout. Thank you very much once again.

Our room was much larger than usual European hotels, and the bed was very comfortable. The restaurant is warm and charming, and dinner and the complimentary breakfast were excellent. The staff are welcoming and attentive.

The only downside is that the hotel does not have an elevator, and dragging our luggage to the top floor required quite a bit of work.
